aww so pleased for mrsm that everything is ok, so exciting seeing little lo

dont worry about them stuffy nurses etc at the hospital, its your decision whether you would like any tests, invasive or not, and if the results of thses tests will make no difference to your out look on things then why bother IMO unless you fel the need to prepare yourself of course

good luck anyway hun hope your feeling well

Taichimum · 12/07/2007 17:07

Congrats Mrs M. Great news on seeing waving bean.
Agree with comments on induction. I was induced and it was a disaster . 18 hours of contractions every 2 mins and only four cm at the end of it. needless to say I had a cs which i was totally unprepared for having expected to have a home birth.
I will never agree to an induction again unless life is in danger.

fettleandminifettle · 12/07/2007 21:48

Hi All

Great news on scan, Mrs!

Ejt, glad to hear all well with you - sounds like you're working too hard though (although I can't talk!!).

Hello everyone else!

All well here - Had a MW appointment today, all ok.

Have to say I was induced with DD, but at 36 weeks, as I had obstetric cholestasis. I personally think as I was connected to a drip, my contractions were stronger and more frequent than would have been without it and consequently my labour with DD was much quicker, easier and straightforward than it might have been would have otherwise.

I'd imagine, like actually giving birth, each person's experience of induction is different, and just wanted to share a positive experience of one! Have to admit that I'm terrified of giving birth this time around, as I have relatively good memories of DD's birth and I don't think this time can be as easy or straight-forward!

Time for bed i think
take care

ejt1764 · 13/07/2007 10:20

Just popping in to say hi and to wave frantically at everyone ... and to say great news on your scan MrsMc ... and don't let the 'interrogators' spoil your joy!

MrsMcJnr · 13/07/2007 10:34

Hey Firsty I couldn?t help wonder if because it was a private clinic they were trying to rack up their fees by trying to force us into considering a CVS or an amnio, call me cynical! It is quite exhausting ? so far DH and I have been challenged by the MW, GP, consultant and the private clinic! No doubt MW will want to go through it all again at my next appointment too! There?s a thread in childbirth on induction at the mo, really interesting info on there.

Uki · 13/07/2007 12:32

Hello all

Thanks for all the concern, I had a good trip and enjoyed a few luxuries, a movie, dinner out and even a gallery visit. I was still feeling a bit sick but home now and finally feeling better. I saw the dr. on the way home and I'm now on thw weekly visits.

Firstar- there's threat of induction here to, at first i was quite against it, but now i'm ready for baby to come out, I as induced last time too, and it's almost fear of what you don't know, as I'm scared of being home and not knowing when/how to go into labour???

You must be counting down days not weeks now???

MrsMc that scan sounded fab

Taichi- hang in there and good luck

Just popping on briefly to say hi, that I am very grateful for your supportive posts and that I am doing ok thanks to love and support from my family and friends, my gorgeous ds and of course all of you

Glimmer · 13/07/2007 13:51

Hi everybody. Am around and am getting heavier, more tired and am always too warm. I hope it's just another phase of exhaustion and will pass.
Have found a very competent IM and will plan on a homebirth, but am completely open to what it will be in the end.

MrsMcJ -- congrats for the scan! Another significant milestone! Don't let anybody talk you into something you do not want and stay firm. Good that your DH is with you.

Hi Fettle, have been missing you but it's good that you are happily busy.

Firststar and Uki, you are both really getting close from how ready you are tp be unburdend.... Wonderful, to see that it can really happen.

A big Hug to everybody else.

Glimmer · 13/07/2007 13:54

Hi Plummymummy. Thanks for stopping by. How are you doing, Dear? We are so sad for you, but hope that you will join us very, very soon again!

spugs · 13/07/2007 14:26

Hiya, hopefully ill be on here from now on. Got a bfp at lunch time, faint but positive. Ill be 4+3 by my lmp. Feeling very excited and just hoping that mc 2 mths ago was one of those things and that all will be good

Glimmer · 13/07/2007 16:23

Hi Spugs. Congratulations on your BFP and welcome. You sound very positive which is excellent. Please let us know how you fare and if you need support we are all here for you.

Glimmer · 13/07/2007 16:28

I seems I am constantly too hot in the last days and I am not able to cool down any more. Is it just just the weather or is it me _ LO? Does anybody of you have a good idea how to cool down at work (have already opened window and can't shed any more clothes IFSWIM, but short of smuggling in cold-packs).

BecklePhoenixBird · 13/07/2007 17:24

Hiya all, hope everyone is okay.
Really to hear your news Plummy (if you are still lurking), hopefully you'll get some answers now hun.
Glad your scan went well MrsMc!
Welcome Spugs, hope your stay with us is long and uneventful!
Hi to everyone else! Don't think I can even begin to catch up! Had a nasty migrane on Monday and a few headaches through the week so been away from the pooter a bit as it tends to make it worse - perhaps I need stronger glasses! (or perhaps it is hormones ). Anyway, getting fatter here and quite happy with that! Going to give in this weekend and order/buy some maternity trousers and get some smock top type things for the summer, my own trousers are soo uncomfortable now even when undone! Plus off to Scotland in just over a week and don't want to look a mess while away (particularly as seeing family), am going to try for glowing! (hahahahaha...)

fwiw, Mrs Mc, when we discussed having triple test at my booking in appt, the lady who booked me in (not a midwife, an asistant), was quite challenging about our decision not to have invasive testing if I came out high risk (which of course I did), but the counsellor midwife who rang me with my high risk result was very understanding that bearing in mind my m/c history we wouldn't have invasive testing, stressed that scanning wasn't 100% accurate, but offered support in any way they could

AnguaVonUberwald · 14/07/2007 17:27

Hey ladies, can I join?

Had a BPF today after a very, very faint one yesterday, so starting to belive it might actually be true. Had a MMC in January and only recently started TTC again.

So pleased with the speed it happened but so scared about the future and just hoping this one will hang on in there.

Hello! I am new here too. Got my BFP on Wednesday.

Had a mc in March and a chemical pg in June.

Glad to be one of you! I have skimmed through the thread and have found it very reassuring.

MrsMcJnr · 14/07/2007 22:38

Hello ladies I went to visit a friend?s week old son today he was gorgeous, tiny and perfect but slept solidly for the whole time we were there so we didn?t get a cuddle ? next time

Hello Uki glad you had a good trip and got spoilt and I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better don?t you find the jabs worse when you are ill?

Plummy ? we are here whenever you need us hon

Hey Glimmer ? hope the homebirth plan works out and that you are feeling much better now. Thanks for your kind words for me I am so lucky DH comes to EVERY appointment, even 10 minute monthly blood checks his work are very family orientated and don?t mind. It has been really muggy recently hasn?t it? Have you considered foot cooling spray or one of those cans of spray mineral water from Boots? They are cool without needing to be chilled. That would help. My personal favourite is Espa?s spray toner ? wonderful chilled to cool you down, I always take some on holiday with me.

Congratulations Spugs wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy and a wonderful baby at the end of it hon, stick with us, we?ll get you through Pregnancy after MC has its own quirks but I can say that it does get better as you get deeper in ? you have more faith

Hello Beckle sorry about the migraines and head aches I know what you mean about the computer, I often get a headache on a Monday after a day in front of one after two away I gave it this weekend and started wearing my mat clothes ? it?s great Have a lovely time up here summer is meant to begin tomorrow I?ve heard ? we?ll see! Where are you going to be?

Hey Firsty how are you hon? Still hanging in there? Good advice about my MW, thank you

JossieJump ? thanks for coming on to let me know that that is reassuring, I guess sometimes they don?t stop to think about how it feels ? when you lose a baby you are told that you are just the unlucky 1:10 (or maybe less ) so when you are later told that your baby has 1:x chance of having something wrong or 1:y chance of being lost due to a procedure ? having been that unlucky 1 before you really feel that it?ll be you again don?t you?

Angua ? welcome and congratulations again! take it easy hon and look after yourself.

Hey Winky ? welcome to you too lovely to see you here. These ladies have kept me sane since I got my BFP!

fettleandminifettle · 15/07/2007 08:23

Hi all

Welcome newbies! Congratulations! As everyone has said we are all here for you for those awful days when you feel it is all going wrong again, as well as those positive times too! It does get better with each day, but I'm still obsessively knicker checking at 29 weeks, so I don't think that ever goes away, once you've had a mc.

Glimmer - I'm so hot at the moment and I'm normally verging on freezing all the time!! Can't even let DH cuddle me at times, as it is just too hot! Just think it means our little ones are growing well and increasing our metabolism! MrsMc's advice is good re foot sprays - but i'm with you on hot offices. Wish I could sit in my swimming costume or underwear, but I don't think it would be a very attractive sight!!!! Thank goodness, this hot summer we were promised this year, hasn't really materialised (yet!!). More rain forecast for this week - great!!

Hello everyone else - have to go get DD and DH ready for swimming - I get to go back to bed then for a little lie-in while they go out!!

back soon.
take care

fettleandminifettle · 15/07/2007 08:25

ps - MrsMc - your DH sounds very wonderful and supportive! And a great job he's in - DH's job is ok, but not that understanding!

PurpleLostPrincess · 15/07/2007 11:25

Hello all, just thought I'd pop in and say HIYA!

Sorry I havent' posted on here for ages but I've been really struggling with this pg and I didn't want to moan and come across as ungrateful! I remember all too well what it was like in those first few weeks when all I wanted was to be big and fat and be able to have an obvious pg to complain about! Trust me, I really am grateful for being pg - I'm telling myself that the impact this LO is having on my body is a constant reminder that she is there and it'll all be worth it in the end.

Welcome to all the newbies - hope all goes well with you - this thread is a God-send and I'm sure it will help you get through the next few weeks.

Firsty - not long to go now!!!! I'm 30 weeks now but feel like I've got age to go! So lovely to see everybody else - Uki, fettle, beckle, ejt, mrsm and everybody else! (((waves!!!)))

I've fianlly started physio (for spd and sacroilliac pain) and I think I can already tell the difference. Not sure how sexy the support band is though! I'm going back next week to check on progress... All I want it a good nights sleep!!!

Take care and hugs to all ((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))
