Haha @MrsMidge0505 I think he knew by the death stare I gave him that his comments were not appreciated, he’s been extra nice to me today 😂

I ate cooked brie over Christmas, pretty sure they’re all fine once they’re cooked until piping hot. I’ve also eaten chorizo cooked on a pizza.

Lovely to hear about all of the scans and also to hear about nausea easing off, praying mine gets better soon, it’s bloody awful.

Jummynbean · 08/01/2019 20:57

So just out of curiosity, what is everyone referring to thier little one as while it's in the belly? Most people we know have opted for bump, but we have gone with bear 🐻. Were so soppy hahaha xxx

Bunnybaubles · 08/01/2019 21:39

We called DD 'Button' but unfortunately, since she's been born, we still call her Button. She responds to that more than her actual name 😂 So we are trying not to nickname this one - however, if it's a boy sproggit sprung to mind, i don't know why 😂

Loujonesy · 08/01/2019 21:57

I managed without my afternoon sickness tablet today so gonna wean off them now as haven't felt too bad. Scan on 15th ( will be 12+2 ) so not too long to wait. Eager to see if 1 or 2 😳. Was going to look into a private scan but what will be will be. Glad people's sickness is starting to get better. Anyone struggling with thought of having to change car? Just got my dream car this year and already have 3 DS. Ekk!

We haven't given our little bean a nickname yet. (Well I guess that could count as one lol)

It still doesn't feel real tbh. Have my first scan on Thursday and I'm getting nervous. Going from LMP, we'll be 13 weeks but I think it's actually closer to 11.

GabbyGal · 09/01/2019 07:07

@Jummynbean we’ve been using the name of the fruit that baby is the size of each week, so this week it’s little plum!

MrsMidge0505 · 09/01/2019 08:13

On our scan it was the sonographer said oh there's the fists, waving them around.... so DH has given the nickname of KNUCKLES!!

Sent about a trillion messages out yesterday as not doing Facebook announcement.

A few reckon girl - can you even tell this early?!

Bunnybaubles · 09/01/2019 08:52

@MrsMidge0505 aww that's so sweet! I can't wait to have my scan and see my wee one 😊
It is possible to tell what you're having this early. I saw I was having a girl at DD's 12 week scan, got a really good look between the legs and saw the 3 little parallel lines (girl) 😁 I'm hoping for a good look at this one next week!

I've tried the whole nub theory thing but I'm rubbish at that, my guesses are always wrong, and after googling loads I'm still not sure what the nub is 😳

Bluejellybaby · 09/01/2019 09:26

Hi guys, I'm due July 13th :) had our scan on Monday and all fine but then spent Monday night in hospital due to extreme sickness (think/hope it was a bug) nd not able to keep fluids down. This is my first pregnancy and feel like I've had everything!
Are there any other first timers out there? How are you all feeling? X

Porridgeprincess · 09/01/2019 10:32

Aww Bluejay, I hope you feel better now

First timer here too with my hospital scan tomorrow and then the booking appointmnet on Friday.I am in Ireland so I think the system is similar enough to UK.

I had an early scan before Christmas at 9 weeks so hoping it will all be ok as well tomorrow

The last two days I have had a huge turnaround and I feel quite energetic, and also i want to eat and eat and eat.

I think my partner needs to see tomorrows scan before he can relax, he has told family etc but not friends, he is definitely more cautious than me which is his perrogative of course.

GabbyGal · 09/01/2019 11:36

I’m in Ireland too @Porridgeprincess. Hoping I have a similar turnaround soon! Energy levels have improved a bit but nausea not so much.

MissKatyKat · 09/01/2019 11:38

Aww @bunnybaubles congratulations! You've made me feel a bit better not being the only mad one here! :)
@Jummynbean we are calling ours Little Jellybean at the moment but I don't think that will sound right when he/she starts getting bigger so we might need a rethink.

Porridgeprincess · 09/01/2019 11:56

Gabbygal, hello !! I hope you get a nice turnaround too. The nausea is just horrible. I luckily got off lightly enough with that so long as food was plain, white and very frequent!

We don't call the little baby anything really at the moment.

Without sounding awful , I am worried if I have a boy that we will have a possible name argument. My partner has the same name as his own dad, who has the same name as his dad etc. I had thought when I wasn't pregnant how nice it would be to carry on the tradition.. now I am not so keen on the idea. The name is a lovely name, quite popular at the moment too but it is the confusion of 2 people with the same names etc... I don't want it anymore
So finger cross for a girl lol

Bluejellybaby · 09/01/2019 12:32

Aw @porridgeprincess I hope your scan goes well, you will have to let us know. I got the giggles during ours and baby was bouncing like a trampoline , wasn't very helpful when the midwife was trying to measure though 😂 we had the screening tests done too, it's bit scary waiting for results.
We have called our bump 'pie' which has always been a nickname between us and some friends ie 'good bye, chicken pie' etc. Always sounded normal to us , now I'm writing it is sounds a bit weird 😂

Porridgeprincess · 09/01/2019 12:42

Now it is cute, cos you a making something delicious!!

Mayjane5 · 09/01/2019 17:30

No name for bump yet as it’s more like a fat bloat 😆, just got my anti sickness tablets today hope it works thought the sickness was better but started again about 3pm

Mayjane5 · 09/01/2019 18:30

Those of you on anti sickness tablets how often do you need to take them? It says 1 each evening but then up to 4 a day. Do you find they last a day if you only take 1?

Bunnybaubles · 09/01/2019 18:38

Have any if you had SPD before or starting to get it now?

I'm worried SPD is starting really early! I keep feeling like I've pulled a groin muscel, but it goes away, then comes back. Aww that would be just my luck!!

I got it with DD1 at 7 months, then DD2 it started at 16 weeks and ended up on crutches.

I am so hoping I've just adopted a strange new sleeping position at night, although I can't imagine what that could be that would make me feel like I've been kicked between the legs 😂 (turning round to give DP a suspicious glare)

GabbyGal · 09/01/2019 18:44

@Porridgeprincess I’m in the same boat re. boys name. I have a particular name that I love and partner likes it too, and we’d talked about that name ages before TTC, and never had any girls names. Now he’s decided that if it’s a boy he wants to name him the Irish version of his dad’s name, which is a nice name but I still prefer the name I chose.

Jummynbean · 09/01/2019 19:00

Omg these names are amazing guys! Lovely little stories to go with them :)

@Bunnybaubles I just googled and 😬😬😬 I hope it goes very quickly, sounds bloody awful xxx

@GabbyGal I think you are lucky to have 2 names that you both like even if you don't end up going with your preferred name! Me and my partner couldn't be further apart with the names we like! The only name we both like so far is brogan. I like it for both a girl and a boy, bit partner thinks it's only a boy's name. What do you think? I mean there's lots of girls called Jamie now so maybe I can start a trend 😂

kirstycrafts · 09/01/2019 19:25

Has anyone started to think how much/when to take maternity leave?
I know it's a while off yet but HR told me a list of documents they'll send through to me soon and it all feels a bit overwhelming (1st baby!) and I guess I shouldn't put off at least thinking about it

Bunnybaubles · 09/01/2019 20:00

@Jummynbean unfortunately SPD gets progressively worse until you give birth 🙈 I'm hoping it's not that that's causing the pain tho!
If it helps, there were girls in DD1's class at school called Brogan 😊

GabbyGal · 09/01/2019 20:14

@Jummynbean you’re right I hadn’t thought of it like that! At least you’ve agreed on one name, plenty of time to agree on others.

@kirstycrafts I’m hoping to take about 10 months I think but haven’t thought about it that much yet. Suppose I’ll finish up at around 35 weeks.

Loujonesy · 09/01/2019 21:12

@Mayjane5 I take 2 a day ( reduced from 3 ) one as soon as I wake, around 1pm and one before sleep but I don't take the 1pm one now. What tablets have you been given?
