Cats out of the bag now! Told all family, friends and work, all that's left now is a Facebook status :) such a relief to stop lying to everyone!

MissKatyKat · 07/01/2019 12:10

Congratulations everybody! Can I join? How is everyone feeling? We are expecting baby number 2 on 29th July, baby number one was born on 6th September last year so we are probably completely mad but very excited! :)

Georgeofthejungle · 07/01/2019 12:16

@bunnybaubles it must be an Aberdeen thing then! The didn’t tell me with my first and have signs up saying not to ask. Although they told my friend up in Elgin at the hospital there.

That’s great @jummynbean! We are 12 weeks tomorrow but don’t get scan until the 16th so holding off announcing until then. Feels like ages away!

Hi @missykatykat! Yes I think you sound bonkers Grin I am on baby 2 too although my DS is coming up for 3. We have strategically timed it so that he is in nursery when the baby arrives for peace of mind all round 😂
I’ve not been feeling too bad actually but after a mammoth clean of my kitchen I now feel pretty rotten. Maybe just need some lunch! Amazing how you can go from one extreme to the other. How have you been?

Mayjane5 · 07/01/2019 18:21

@MissKatyKat hello congratulations, I am due on the 30th second baby too but my first is 4 x

Mayjane5 · 07/01/2019 18:25

So don’t feel as nauseous as such but a lot of things making me gag, toothbrushing, if I cough, nearly threw up in my car again 🤢. Other symptoms I do feel and look quite bloated now trying to hide it at work until after the scan which is hard as a my clothes are now tight 😄 just going to say I ate a lot at Christmas

MissKatyKat · 07/01/2019 18:29

@Georgeofthejungle @Mayjane5 congratulations to you both. It sounds like you've planned it far better than me! I'm going to have two children in the same school year! :)
Well done on cleaning your kitchen @Georgeofthejungle are you feeling better now? I've been feeling pretty good for the last few weeks but the first 6/8 weeks were pretty bad, I was probably more sick with my first but I think it seemed worse this time around because I was looking after a 3 month old as well. Hopefully over the worst now anyway.
Is anyone planning on finding out the gender?

MissKatyKat · 07/01/2019 18:31

@Mayjane5 it's the perfect time of year to just blame over eating really isn't it?! :) I'm also just beginning to show!

Squeakybubbles26 · 07/01/2019 18:38

@MissKatyKat @Mayjane5 so glad you both said your starting to feel better! My symptoms have eased over the last week, sickness stopped and nausea no way near as bad! However more hungry mind hmm! Like yourself @Mayjane5 I've already got a tummy and clothes are already too tight, can't wait until after the scan when I will happily be getting the maternity clothes out 😂😁 feel about 5 months already!!!

MissKatyKat · 07/01/2019 18:42

@Squeakybubbles26 I'm feeling like it's obvious already too! Hopefully you're starting to come out the other side of the sickness. When is your scan?

Squeakybubbles26 · 07/01/2019 19:37

Oh don't @MissKatyKat I feel huge it's so bad! Like I should be this big and pregnant already - however I feel it's more above my bellybutton - below is still a little flabby lol 😂 however over Christmas I did eat like a pig Blush
My scan is the 22nd so I'll be 12+6. How about you?

Mayjane5 · 07/01/2019 19:38

@Squeakybubbles26 my god yes on an evening I look huge I think it’s from eating. Nausea is back I spoke to soon. @MissKatyKat I don’t know about planning it right we have just gone passed the nappy stage and will have to do it all again maybe easier with a smaller age gap? I can’t remember how I managed first time around 🤔

Winona1 · 07/01/2019 20:03

12 wk scan tomorrow! really nervous! X

Jummynbean · 07/01/2019 20:25

@MissKatyKat you must be mad 🤣 but it will be lovely that they will be so close in age group though.
@Georgeofthejungle although you have to wait now, you will have less time to wait untill your 20 week X so that's a little positive!
@Mayjane5 my toothbrush is my worst enemy at the moment too! Nausea has gone but it's still a trigger!

Is it too early to show? I feel like I'm about 6 months 😂

Mayjane5 · 07/01/2019 21:00

@Jummynbean I know I thought about not brushing my teeth for work but that made me feel sick too 😆 I’m presuming I’m showing quicker because it’s my second? But then the ‘twins’ thought has crossed my mind a few times 🤔 no twins in family though but I am over 40.

GabbyGal · 07/01/2019 21:01

DP has just told me ill “just have to get used to the nausea” and “WE have a long road ahead”. Having to remind myself that murder carries a life sentence. Angry

Good luck tomorrow @Winona1.

MissKatyKat · 07/01/2019 23:01

@Squeakybubbles26 my scan is 17th so I'll be 12+3
@MayJane5 I'll let you know in about a year if it's easier to have two close together, if I'm still alive then! :)
Good luck for tomorrow @Winona1 xx

Winona1 · 08/01/2019 13:36

Scan went perfect ☺️ so happy!! X

Jummynbean · 08/01/2019 13:55

@Winona1 how lovely for you! So great to hear X did you opt for the screening too?

GabbyGal · 08/01/2019 14:14

That’s great @Winona1! So impatient for mine now, 1 week to go!

MrsMidge0505 · 08/01/2019 16:39

Hi ladies and new people - welcome.

So happy that people's scans are going well.

Had our scan today, looking "normal" and appropriate size.... opted for screening for downs, Edwards and Patau. Got a week or so to wait for the result.

@GabbyGal come on woman up!! #joking! Sounds like your DP needs a word! 💪🏼

Are people doing NCT?

And has anyone eaten a COOKED HOT Camembert at all?!!!! Xxx

rach2019 · 08/01/2019 17:05

I had my 12 week scan yesterday and got put back 4 days boo!! They couldnt get a good enough measurement for screening so will have to have a blood test at 14 weeks.
also i have eaten baked camembert, as long as its cooked its okay?? Thats what i thought

MrsMidge0505 · 08/01/2019 17:42

@rach2019
Yeah think it's need to be hot and cooked. I'm hankering after some!!

Also I'm lucky enough to be going Iceland soon and am planning to have a dunk in the blue lagoon. I'll just keep common sense in mind and an eye on my temp with my thermometer!

Grateful 80% of my nausea has gone.

Mayjane5 · 08/01/2019 17:53

@Mrsmidge0505 I ate one at Christmas, is it unpasteurised cheese you should stay away from not sure about soft cheese I think cooked is fine though.

Mayjane5 · 08/01/2019 17:54

All these scans how lovely really gets real now I think. I got my letter today day scan next week

Bunnybaubles · 08/01/2019 18:53

Congrats on all the good scan, mine is on the 16th January. Ive opted for all the screening too. Had my booking in appointment with my midwife this morning, same one I had last year with DD. Let's say she was a bit surprised to see me again so soon 😂

@missKatyKat you are 3 months crazier than I am, I'm 12 weeks with a 6 month old 😁 We had a 2 and a half hour nap in bed this afternoon... OMG I hope those last forever 😂

My nausia has mostly gone too but my appetite still isn't the same. I just want sweet food all the time 🙈
