@MakeAWhish Congrats on the scan, I have mine tomorrow morning and I’m also expecting my dates to be out by a week or so as my last couple of periods were a bit all over the place and I didn’t get a BFP until my period was 19 days late, so I suspect I was wrong about when it was due. I’ve been pretty relaxed so far but I’m really anxious today now that the scan is so close.

@aisling18 I’m not sleeping well either. Got about 4 hours last night and I’m falling asleep at my desk today.

HayleyHaystack · 10/12/2018 11:33

@aisling18 As it sounds like you are consultant led and not midwife led they have prob factored in your blood test dates but maybe you haven’t received that letter yet?! I’m sure it would be before your scan on the 7th. It’s so confusing isn’t it! Or they might be waiting until you’re 10 weeks because I annoyingly had to have that extra blood test today instead of last weeks batch. Whatever happens they will know what they’re doing Smile

Hey! Anyone else feeling rough as? Or as I describe it feel like a constant hangover! Nausea, achy, just wanna curl up under a blanket! My first pregnancy I can't remember feeling this bad, however back then I wasn't running around after a 2 year old as well!

Winona1 · 10/12/2018 20:20

@Squeakybubbles26 I'm really struggling. I am hardly eating and when I do it's just bread or cereal ☹️ I don't know if I'm being a miserable cow or if this is normal !! X

Squeakybubbles26 · 10/12/2018 20:27

@Winona1 I know hormones has a lot to answer for, but still! Blaaaa! Already in bed cos I couldn't bare sitting on the sofa watching crap on telly! Cor I sound miserable!!! Just wanna feel semi normal ish maybe a little ha!

Exciting to hear about all these scans. I’ve not got my first appointment until January will be 10 weeks then hopefully will have a scan soon after. Had a very bad cold/flu type thing for a few weeks not being able to take anything has been a nightmare hopefully it’s clearing up now intime for Christmas. Are you telling your friends/family yet? Or waiting? x

HayleyHaystack · 10/12/2018 20:55

@mayjane5 We are telling our families on Christmas Day. I’ll almost be 13 weeks then so feels a good time. Can’t imagine telling them actually! They will be so delighted x

Mayjane5 · 10/12/2018 21:12

@HayleyHaystack that sounds perfect what a lovely Christmas present. I think I will wait until first scan so won’t be till the new year

FuzzyPixel · 10/12/2018 21:18

We told our parents and siblings almost immediately, but we found out at about seven weeks. This pregnancy has been four years in the making, so we wanted to share any happiness straight away. We also knew they'd be the people we would turn too if it didn't go to plan.

Bunnybaubles · 10/12/2018 21:27

I'll probably take my parents to the side and tell them before christmas but im not going to tell any other family on christmas day. I did the big reveal last christmas day with my DD but this time my SIL is 6 months pregnant and will be there, I don't want to steal her thunder.

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/12/2018 09:23

We're going to tell our parents on or just before Christmas day ! I've had baubles made up to give them. We might book a private scan for a few days before just so wee feel confident telling them. There's no way we could wait til 12 weeks , they'll know straight away if I'm not drinking over Christmas and boxing day

GabbyGal · 11/12/2018 09:54

Had a scan this morning, everything was fine thank god, little heart beating away like a champ. Such a relief. Measured at 7+3 and going by my dates I thought I was 9+6 so a pretty big difference! Not totally surprised because my cycle had been a bit irregular due to thyroid issues.

I was looking forward to telling family & friends at Christmas because I would have been 12 weeks but now I’m not sure if I will. We’re going to tell our parents this week anyway, I’ve had baubles made too @ReginaPhalange89!

Jalf · 11/12/2018 12:43

I had a private scan yesterday morning - 9+3
Empty sac and the size of 5 weeks. We’re devastated and I don’t know what’s happening now. I have a 3 hour appointment at the NHS early pregnancy unit this afternoon and I don’t know what to expect, nobody has told me anything 😞

Hugs to you all and I hope you have positive news xx

MakeAWhish · 11/12/2018 12:59

Oh, @Jalf I'm so sorry. Love to you xx

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/12/2018 14:32

@GabbyGal could you see much at the scan ? Or did it just look like a blob? I wanted to book a private scan for the end of next week so I could tell family at xmAs but can't get an appt 😭 I can get one for tomorrow night but I'll only be 7+2 and was really hoping to be closer to 9 weeks

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/12/2018 14:46

never mind actually I got one for the 23rd ! So I'll be 8+6 , hopefully be able to see a bit more by then !

GabbyGal · 11/12/2018 14:46

@ReginaPhalange89 On the external scan we couldn’t see much because my bladder wasn’t full enough apparently, so she did an internal scan and we could see pretty well. Like we could determine baby’s head from the rest of its body, we could see and hear the heart beating and the sonographer showed us baby’s spine which was really clear. It was amazing!

At a later scan you would obviously see much more, but even at this stage we were told that because everything has been confirmed as normal and heartbeat is healthy, the risk of miscarriage is down to 5% which is such a relief. So I say if tomorrow is the only appointment you can get this side of Christmas then go for it because it will put your mind at ease.

GabbyGal · 11/12/2018 14:48

@Jalf I’m so sorry to hear that, and here’s me going on about my scan.

Hope you get some answers this afternoon xx

Jalf · 11/12/2018 17:22

Just got home - confirmed the size of 5 weeks, likely missed miscarriage. We have to wait 7 days for a rescan to confirm (though my dates are 100%, I've tracked everything to the day throughout and 5 weeks would have meant conception was 5 days after BFP).

We're already booked in for surgery to remove (D&C) on Thursday next week. Devastating Christmas for us 😞

Really hope you all carry to term and have healthy bubbas, much love xx

Bunnybaubles · 11/12/2018 18:06

@Jalf thats awful, im so sorry you didn't get the news you hoped for xx

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/12/2018 18:28

So sorry @jalf. Never an easy time but seems especially unfair at Christmas :(

Winona1 · 11/12/2018 18:55

So sorry @Jalf hope u have some support around you xxx

MakeAWhish · 11/12/2018 20:21

Thinking of you @Jalf and sending you love. I'm so sorry.

Jalf · 11/12/2018 20:48

Thank you all - onwards and upwards x

GabbyGal · 11/12/2018 21:44

I’m so sorry to hear that @Jalf, look after yourself xx
