So sorry to hear this @AstroKate, can't imagine what you're feeling. Take care

mrsof20118 · 07/12/2018 21:20

Im so sorry @astrokate

Winona1 · 07/12/2018 22:13

sending love to you @AstroKate xxx

KinCat · 08/12/2018 05:19

So sorry AstroKate I really hoped your dates were wrong.

I was really worried by the bleeding I've had so we went for a scan today and saw our little embryo and even heard the heart beat! Measured 7+4 so one day smaller than expected although it took the Dr a few different angles to get a 7+4 measurement, the first one she did was only 6+3 so I was quite worried.

My uterus looks loads smaller than the scans I've seen online though, the embryo took up pretty much the whole space. The Dr commented but didn't seem to think it was a very bad thing.

FuzzyPixel · 08/12/2018 08:52

So sorry @AstroKate. Please look after yourself. Flowers

Hi all,

May I join please?

After four years of trying, including fertility treatments, I recently discovered that I'm pregnant.

I too was worried about bleeding, so was given various tests and a scan yestersay and was measured at 7+6, making me 8 weeks pregnant today. We got to see the flicker of a heartbeat too. The doctor is concerned that I need to up my water intake but other than that, everything is progressing nicely.

It was such a lovely shock. After four and. A bit years of health professionals telling me I can't be pregnant, I was still in disbelief.

I am experiencing morning sickness, painful boobs and that weird taste in my mouth. I'm grateful though, if I didn't have those I think it'd be even harder for me to believe that it is happening.

EDD is 20th July. Smile

KinCat · 08/12/2018 10:52

Hey FuzzyPixel we're similar due dates! It does feel very unreal. I'm so worried something will go wrong. I thought having an early scan would be reassuring but the reassurance only lasted while we could actually see the baby! Just keep trying to tell myself that seeing a heartbeat is a really positive sign.

We told FIL after the scan and he is thrilled! I'm in two minds whether to tell my parents now or wait a couple of weeks when we'll be seeing them in person.

Georgeofthejungle · 08/12/2018 15:15

Hi @fuzzypixel! Sounds like you’ve had a long journey to get here!! Congratulations :)

I got my letter through from the hospital today for my scan which is quite exciting! 16th of January. And it’s in the new maternity MW led hospital only 30 mins from my house instead of 1 hour to the big one. Might ask for a wee look around when I’m on although the ‘no drugs’ but puts me off going there for the big finally! x

Delilah7 · 08/12/2018 15:16

Yay 12 week scan has come it's New Year's Eve wooooooo x

vixy1988 · 08/12/2018 15:38

Yay@Delilah7 pleases for you. When is your estimated due date.

I'm nearly 8 weeks and my doctor hasn't even seen me yet (appointment 14th Dec).

Delilah7 · 08/12/2018 15:39

@vixy1988 well I'm making it to be 9th July, midwife says 11th. 😂😂😂 who knows! X

aisling18 · 08/12/2018 19:06

Hi, new to Mumsnet. I'm due 22nd of July. First pregnancy. I had an early pregnancy scan last week because I had been flying - unaware I was pregnant and my GP recommended to put my mind at ease. All went well. Got to see what looked like a little cashew nut and hear the heartbeat. The lady doing my scan thought by the measurements that I might be 6 weeks not 7 - but told me to come back in two weeks for a better idea! I've sore boobs, tiredness and a bit of nausea here and there. My biggest reaction was to wood polish Envy so happy to have found a thread full of ladies in the same position as me. I'm very nervous and won't let myself get excited just incase xxx

Georgeofthejungle · 09/12/2018 09:04

Hi @Aisling18! I’m due the 23rd :)

I can relate to you worrying about the flight.. similarly I got a dental X-ray on the first day of my missed period. I wasn’t really thinking. I spoke to my mw and she said the risks are so small because the X-ray is focussed on your mouth. I’ve not googled the risks. I don’t think I will!

aisling18 · 09/12/2018 09:17

Hi @Georgeofthejungle
I used to be a dental nurse!!! She's absolutely right! You've nothing to worry about! I can't wait for Christmas to be over, I just feel like I'll relax more when I hit the 12 weeks. Then I can start looking at cots and prams etc 👶🏼

Georgeofthejungle · 09/12/2018 13:38

Oh well that’s good to know! Thanks @aisling18!

I’m currently cosied in my bed. Have been doing some housework this morning and not long had some lunch. DH has taken DS outside to do some jobs so I’ve climbed in to be cosy Grin I think I’ll pretend I’m asleep when they come back in so I don’t have to get out Halo

RanchoRelaxo · 09/12/2018 13:48

Hi everyone, just updating, had my booking in appointment last week and all went good, my scan is on the 2nd Jan 😊
Also had an early scan this morning and it was so amazing, the baby is there and healthy and measuring a day ahead of what I thought at 8 weeks 5 days 😁 hope everyone else is having a lovely weekend

Jummynbean · 09/12/2018 14:33

Haven't had a scan yet but estimated due date is 19th of July. Feeling very, very nauseous at the moment ( have yet to be sick though). Congrats to you other mommies and daddies ;)

MakeAWhish · 09/12/2018 15:10

Just had my early scan - measuring 6 weeks instead of 7 which was expected due to my long cycles. Strong, regular heartbeat! I reckon at my 12 week scan I might slip into an early August due date ... it's a big relief to see the heart flickering away.

Georgeofthejungle · 09/12/2018 15:38

Aw lovely scan news ladies, and great wee pic @ranchorelaxo.

Can’t wait to get my scan! It was exciting to get the letter through.

Bunnybaubles · 09/12/2018 20:15

Hi everyone, i'm due in July 2019. Im not sure of the EDD yet, altho ive known for weeks i havent informed the doctors yet.

My pregnancies are consultant led so I just wanted to enjoy a few weeks before I start with all the monitoring etc.

This is my 4th pregnancy, I have a 19yo, 18yo and 6mo. This is definitely my last 😁

DP wants me to let the doctors know next week so will hopefully have a scan sorted for January x

HayleyHaystack · 09/12/2018 21:08

Congrats everyone!
I’m having a funny old weekend really. My 12 week scan is now just 10 days away and the worry of it all is really hitting me. Second blood test tomorrow (the DS screening) and actually considering doing another private scan this week. Which seems silly. It won’t change anything. I’ve already had 2 (7w private and 9w at the EPU - both for reassurance) and all was ok which was a relief for like 24 hours. Can’t seem to get in my head that this one might stick around 🙄
Anyone else feeling the same? Just can’t get excited about it all.

aisling18 · 10/12/2018 07:37

Can anyone else not sleep? I'm getting 2-3 hours at night then sleeping half the day. When I do sleep I have very weird dreams - not nightmares but upsetting dreams. I'm lying here the past hour feeling sick also. I can only presume it's all down to hormones?? Anyone feeling the same way? X

aisling18 · 10/12/2018 07:44

@HayleyHaystack Hi 👋🏼 is it usual to have bloods done before the 12 week scan? I wonder should I visit my GP. My scan isn't until the 7th of January. I had an early pregnancy scan last week (booked privately for reassurance also). I'm also not excited yet. I'm too worried that something might go wrong between now and the 7th Confused

HayleyHaystack · 10/12/2018 07:52

Hey @aisling18 - yes I think it is. I had my booking in app last week which took about 90 min and I had first round of blood tests there - I was 9+5 at this app. The next blood test could only be done post 10w so I’ve got that today. Apparently the result of this blood test is required for the 12 week scan. I did the online self referral form to the Antenatal department at my chosen hospital as I learnt last time that all my GP does is to say “Congrats. Take folic acid. Here’s the website for self referral” 🤣

aisling18 · 10/12/2018 08:09

@HayleyHaystack ahhhhh I see!!! The first day I visited the GP I was 5weeks and all she did was set up the referral form and tell me what to take and what to avoid eating. I got my appointment then for the 7th of January for the 12 week scan with my consultant. Couldn't wait that long so had one done last week. Other than that I've heard no more and was told no more! I'll ring the GP later! Hmm
