Babyboymama · 17/10/2018 23:46

I’m the same as you, due date was 16th and here I am still pregnant!
I’ve had absolutely no pains or signs of anything so I’ve pretty much convinced myself I’ll end up being induced.
I’m also a FTM

SelinaMyers · 17/10/2018 23:48

Same. Due today. Spent the whole day in hospital for them to run various tests but no twinges or anything :(

Clarashan · 18/10/2018 00:03

Same too! Was also due on the 16th but no signs of anything yet. It's strange had that date in mind for so long (even though I knew it was unlikely baby would arrive on that day) and now it's been and gone feel a lost almost

Running365 · 18/10/2018 00:46

Was due on 12th and nothing...each day seems to come and go even quicker now with zero signs. 42 weeks seems to be looming...

boringbetty · 18/10/2018 00:54

Oh my people . I was due on 13th and I'm sooo fed up now. Got a sweep with midwife tomorrow afternoon hopefully that will work but to be honest I'm dreading it.

Running365 · 18/10/2018 01:20

Good luck @boringbetty, really hope it begins to get things going for you tomorrow. I can have one at my appointment on Friday. Does anyone else lie there wide awake at night, thinking about having contractions...willing your body and baby to do something. But nothing happening!!

Markygirl1995 · 18/10/2018 08:12

I'm getting period pains every now and then but they don't get intense enough! They just disappear 😡😡😡😡

SelinaMyers · 18/10/2018 08:38

@Running Will they let you go 42 weeks?

Anyone else feel there’s no inbetween and they will definitely get induced now? I know a lot can happen in ten days but now we’ve passed due date I can’t even imagine it happening!

Has anyone had a sweep? I had one one the day before me due date and one tomorrow. On the CTG yesterday they picked up contractions.

Running365 · 18/10/2018 08:38

Been having the same on and off this week and also some lower back pain in the evenings but doesn't progress into anything. It's so hard to stay positive that it will happen naturally...I have a little cry every morning when DH goes off to work and then just try to have another 'normal' day. Just a strange time!!

Running365 · 18/10/2018 08:41

@SelinaMyers I guess we'll discuss induction dates at my 41 week appointment tomorrow but it comes down to our decision at the end of the day as to whether to accept - everything else completely healthy so no black or white reason to induce really other than 'dates'.

How was your sweep?

SelinaMyers · 18/10/2018 08:53

@Running I’m in the same position, baby is fine so they aren’t in a rush to induce.

It wasn’t too bad at all. I did have a bit of an audience as Midwife, trainee Midwife, DSis and DNiece were all in the room 😅 I’ve had a couple of friends go into labour two days after sweeps but another said you ideally need two to get things going.

Markygirl1995 · 18/10/2018 08:54

I will accept anything at this moment, I might ask for an induction or sweep at my next appointment Friday.

So I've got my sweep at 12 today absolutely petrified as I've been reading horror stories about how painful they are
But been having irregular contractions since half 4 and definitely think I've just lost my plug
So hopefully things are moving in the right direction

Running365 · 18/10/2018 11:05

@SelinaMyers sounds like quite the audience indeed! Fingers crossed it has made a slight difference and at least you know they tracked contractions on the CTG so your body is at least doing something in that direction...

@boringbetty hope it goes ok for you and sounds like your body is gearing up naturally
too! I'm undecided about whether to have one tomorrow or not. Will see how I feel in the morning...

Can't believe I've got this far really, and like PP said. Now the time is here, feels like induction is inevitable but still trying to trust my body and baby do know what to do and when!!!

SelinaMyers · 18/10/2018 11:25

@Betty The sweep is no more intrusive/ Painful than a smear. Please don’t let it frighten you. Annoyingly, like a lot of these things the more relaxed you are the less painful they are.

boringbetty · 18/10/2018 12:56

Wasn't too bad quiet uncomfortable but hey I'm about to give birth so better get used to uncomfortable.
She managed to stretch to 4cm and said babe is very low down so just playing the waiting game now

Running365 · 18/10/2018 16:46

That's great news @boringbetty! Keep upright and bouncing on a birthing ball if you have one. I'm excited to see if I'm at all dilated tomorrow now...

Babyboymama · 18/10/2018 18:17

I’ve got my midwife appointment tomorrow too and she said she could try and do a sweep but would recommend waiting until I’m 41 weeks which seems a bit pointless because it’s close enough..
I’m just bored of waiting now, I think it would be better if I was having Braxton Hicks or something but because I’m having nothing it just seems like baby’s not leaving!

boringbetty · 18/10/2018 20:20

SelinaMyers · 18/10/2018 21:27

Congratulations @Betty! Enjoy every second of your new arrival! How’s everyone else doing this evening? Any twinges?

AmazingGrace16 · 18/10/2018 23:44

Nothing here although I've decid3d to delay induction again. Hoping I go into spontaneous labour!

SelinaMyers · 19/10/2018 08:50

How is everyone this morning? I have a sweep at 12 and a CTG. hoping I’ll be as lucky as Betty!
