Well just an update, I'm in and so is the propess, they've asked me to stay in due to hyperthyroidism and episodes of reduced movements so they just want to monitor me. Didn't hurt much getting the propess in basically like a shoelace 😂 just glad I brought a snack with me!

@universe00 - I think you are definitely right. I feel as though I know something will happen soon now.
My mum lives abroad and is due back on Saturday (tomorrow) so maybe the baby is waiting for his nanny lol.

@YorkshireBee - sounds like you could be in a similar situation to me. I had/have all those feelings that you mention. Good Luck!!

Bobbielee91 · 26/10/2018 11:07

@Markygirl1995 - Good Luck!Flowers

Babyboymama · 26/10/2018 11:45

@Markygirl1995 good luck!!! Do you know how long you’ll be staying in for?

I’ve had the call this morning and I’m going in at 2! They’ve told me I’ll just be in and out because I’m low risk.

Getting excited knowing I’ll FINALLY have him in my arms in the next couple of days!

Markygirl1995 · 26/10/2018 17:30

@Babyboymama well I had it inserted which hurt! No more than a sweep though, had some tightenings then fell out due to a "slippery" vagina 😳 going to opt for the dissolving tablet when midwife comes back around incase it comes back out again which I'm paranoid about

OP posts:
Markygirl1995 · 26/10/2018 17:31

@Babyboymama staying in all night as I've had episodes of reduced movements and hyperthyroidism

OP posts:
Babyboymama · 26/10/2018 18:14

@Markygirl1995 yes it hurt me too, a lot!! I’m back home now and laying down - could be the last chance I get to nap for a while and I don’t want it to come out because I don’t want to go back in!
I thought it was a dissolving tablet before I got there, didn’t realise it just sits there until they remove it again. I understand the comment about the shoelace now though 😂
If nothing happens with me I’ll be going back tomorrow at 3 and they said they’ll break my waters then, they said they could have broken my waters today but decided not to because she said my body was showing signs of getting things going itself so they’ll see what happens with the pessary.

Not sure if this is a silly question but what is hyperthyroidism? Ive not heard of that before

Markygirl1995 · 26/10/2018 18:26

@Babyboymama oh I guess that's good in a way so that it's a slow pain rather than full on!

It's where I've got underactive thyroids just another term they use for it xxx

OP posts:
Babyboymama · 26/10/2018 18:41

@Markygirl1995 yes good in a way but I kinda thought things would develop faster if they broke my waters. Still feel exactly the same too 😂
Oh I see, I was thinking it would be something like that but wasn’t completely sure!

Markygirl1995 · 26/10/2018 18:52

@Babyboymama same here apart from tummy tightenings frustrating isn't it! I'm hoping my partner might be allowed to stay with me tonight

OP posts:
Markygirl1995 · 26/10/2018 21:02

Update: nothing is still happening, how ever the pessary has fallen out again so as pre warning apparently it can make you very wet down there or make you very dry obviously my body is trying to reject it or there’s still some mucus plug inside. If this doesn’t work tonight tomorrow they will either give me the 6 hour pessary or try to break my waters in the labour ward if there’s enough midwifes and if my body lets me

I've just came across this thread, not overdue yet, due on Tuesday. Expecting I will go over though since nothing feels like it's starting Sad

I'm confused though, the only thing I've been told about regarding inductions are the pessary that gets put in every 6 hours or 3 in 24 hours for up to 3(?) days.

What's this one that gets left in and taken out? Nothing was mentioned in the antenatal classes or by the midwife about that?

Babyboymama · 26/10/2018 21:44

@Markygirl1995 are they putting it back in again then? Sounds like you’re lucky they kept you in or you’d have been backwards and forwards all night! I’ve got a feeling mines going to come out at some point tonight, I can feel it a lot more than I could when they first put it in so I think I’ll end up having to go back.

@unicornchaser I think they must do things differently depending on the area or hospital because I’ve not been told about a 6 hour one. The pessary they’ve given me has been put in and just stays there for 24 hours and there’s a string on it like a tampon so they can remove it easily. If nothing happens in the 24 hours I have to go back into hospital tomorrow and that’s when they’ll keep me in and most likely break my waters. I didn’t go to any classes so I only know what the midwife told me and what they’ve done today so I can’t really explain properly

Markygirl1995 · 26/10/2018 22:03

@Babyboymama yes but it's the worst pain (so far) if it keeps falling out I'll give up they say keep mobile but I can't slippery fanny is making this very difficult! Yes I know I live about 45mins away from hospital too so that would be annoying!!

universe00 · 26/10/2018 22:29

@Markygirl1995 how many days over due are you now ?
Also how long is meant to stay inside you for ? I have no idea about any of this and getting induced tomorrow.
Can you ask Just for the dissolving tablet ? Hope your ok x

Markygirl1995 · 26/10/2018 22:47

I'm currently 41+2 so 9days over, they start you off on the 24hour pessary which is basically like a shoe lace, it's slow releasing with low dosage to help bring on labour but in a less painful way and less shocking to your body.

My lady area might still have mucus plug that's still coming away which is causing the pessary to fall out. If this happens again we'll decide whether to keep it out and try the dissolving tablet tomorrow which will be more efficient for me but I have a feeling that would be the 6 hour one which will have more dosage which means it'll be more efficient and get things going more apparently dissolves quickly too.

You'll be fine tomorrow! Hopefully all goes well for you and may induce you quicker!

@Babyboymama how are you getting on? My pessary fell out again 2am this morning so opting for the 6 hour prostine which is more effective! Hoping this will do something

OP posts:
Babyboymama · 27/10/2018 11:25

@Markygirl1995 still the same with me! Was having period like pains through the night and was very uncomfortable but now I’m up and moving I feel okay!
They’ve asked me to go back in at 3 and from what the midwife was saying yesterday they’ll probably break my waters and I think I’ll be staying in then!
Not quite sure what’s going to happen though, I’m hoping they don’t send me home to wait for another 24 hours because I’ve just felt like I’m in limbo! Can’t really do much or go anywhere..

How about you? Have you been given the 6 hour one yet? Sounds like you won’t have had a very good night!

Babyboymama · 27/10/2018 11:26

@universe00 good luck with your induction today I hope all goes well!

Markygirl1995 · 27/10/2018 12:19

@Babyboymama fingers crossed they're able to break your waters!! Id refuse another 24 hour one! Once mine came out I felt like I was going backwards.

The 6 hour one has been put in but no niggles yet hoping it does something otherwise I'll have to have another if not they'll try break my waters and if that's impossible it'll probably c-section fantastic!!

OP posts:
Babyboymama · 27/10/2018 12:26

@Markygirl1995 they did say yesterday they probably could have broken them then so I’m hoping they’ll just do it straight away! Not sure what to expect though. I just don’t want to be sent home again for another 24 hours!

At least it’s in now and things might finally start moving for you! Hopefully it won’t come to a c section!

Bobbielee91 · 27/10/2018 13:03

Hi Guys!

My baby has finally made an appearance! Born at 8:36am, weighing 7lb 9oz💙.

Labour was really short, woke up at 4:50 with pains but wasn’t sure if it was labour as it wasn’t uncontrollable - pains every 6 mins. By 6am the pains were every 3 minutes but the midwives were still unconvinced that I was in labour!

Finally my partner called and they said I could come in but would probably be sent home again.

We got here and the midwife wanted me to relax and have a bath however, I had the urge to push - she checked me and I was 8cm dilated! Waters went on the toilet and he was born 10 mins later x

Markygirl1995 · 27/10/2018 14:41

@Babyboymama how did you get on? Have you been back in yet?

Tablet has done nothing!! Even done crabbing up and down stairs! If anything he's more active than ever I'm due to go on the CTG again at 330/4 to then have another inserted and so on again.

Will ask again what will happen next I think my body just struggles to dilate! 😓😓😓

Babyboymama · 27/10/2018 16:06

@Bobbielee91 congratulations that’s great news!! You were right about him waiting for your mum to get back!

@Markygirl1995 I’m here now, been here an hour and they haven’t done anything yet and I’m unsure what the plan is. They let me take the pessary out though which I’m glad about because the string was driving me mad!
I’m in a bed opposite a really loud mother and daughter though which is a bit annoying, the curtains across but you can hear them from the end of the corridor!

Have you been back on the CTG yet? How’s it going?
