Kyle
Ellie
Jaden/Jayden
Chanelle
etc etc... and apologies if you have called your child any of the above
I put Ellie because a squillion little girls are called that.
Freya is a nice name but there are so many now - it really turns me against such names,no matter whether they are nice

And what about the world of soft furnishings? Taffeta, Chenille, Tarlatan, Velour.....not forgetting their little brother, Leatherette.

"I had a friend called Bang- well it was her longterm nickname, we met at Ponyclub camp. She became a marine biologist and was sadly drowned by a leopard seal in Antarctica"

I'm rubbing off on you now, you just made that up

If mine had been a girl she was going to be Elinor, but shortened to Ellie. I like that one I must say. As a bit of a name snob she wouldn't have been straight Ellie because ""a squillion little girls are called that" lol

WendyWeber · 06/06/2007 23:18

How did the leopard seal drown her?

I rather like Persil, Lenor, Flash and Cillit.

Also Alpen, Branston, Heinz and Haribo.

God, that is so sad, hatrick - imagine how much anyone would prefer their child to be a marine biologist playing with seals, rather than an urban pub-goer out with the alkies.

Poor love.

I really regret starting this thread - it was seriously ill judged and I apologise because it has upset lots of people - I'm making no excuses - I did wrong,I'm a nice person really and it has upset me to think that other mumsnetters are upset because of something I did without thinking properly.

I was thinking of Gandalf, Bilbo or Arwen as potential names for the next one ....or maybe having a mills & boon theme....something rugged like Jake for a boy (providing he has steely grey eyes & floppy black hair) or something feisty like Raven for a girl (ditto the eyes & hair)...I am of course a stumpy brunette but who cares about genetics (though I will steer clear of Grace for that reason).

DrippingLizzie · 07/06/2007 00:14

Binker, don't worry about it. OK, so your OP was a bit provocative but hey, some people just need to loosen their gussets and chill out a bit.

And by the way, I know two kids called Rocky and Buster. Way-hey! Power to the Underclass!

fillyjonk · 07/06/2007 06:57

i think thats fair enough, binker, we all start threads we regret.

I WOULD have upset me to see my kids names being seen as a bit crap, tbh. don't care about there being lots of them-so WHAT? just means LOTS of people like the name! but I do see taylorsmummys point

ah well. all is forgotten now.
