Hey, I’ve just found out I’m pregnant and that I’ll be due in May. I’ve had 4 miscarriages and have no children so I’m really nervous! It’s still really early but would love to talk to other people due in May. Even though I know it’s still really early and lots of people may not know their due date yet!

Hi everyone, I haven't been on here for a while, I hope everyone is feeling ok? My symptoms worsened between week 5-6, I felt truly awful, but now I'm in the 7th week I'm feeling much better, still sore boobs and the odd bit of nausea/dizziness and my anxiety is definitely bad, but other than that I don't feel TOO bad. I went for a private scan last night and she said I'm probably 7weeks exactly, but by my dates I was 7+3, so that's a bit annoying that I might be a few days further back than I thought. It will probably change again at the 12 week scan though, waiting another 5 weeks for another scan seems such a long time to wait Confused Anyway, I hope you are all feeling positive and not too unwell! Xx

Morning! 👋🏻 my symptoms are very similar to mine although I've had quite a few headaches (I don't know if they are a pregnancy symptom) it's usually a time of the month sign so obviously that makes me paranoid!!

On the subject of private scans/screening .... any recommendations of where to go? (I live Manchester way) or are they much of a muchness.

Redken24 · 27/09/2018 07:57

Our first scan is the 22nd of October I think. Feels bloody ages away. Lol

everythingisnew · 27/09/2018 12:05

6+2 today and woke up so nauseous... which I didn't expect this early?? But it's my first pregnancy so I don't know what I expected lol. I got in the car to work and turned around and came home, so thankful I'm able to work from home today. Still feeling pretty horrible and looking forward to a nap when I finish work! How is everyone else feeling today?

sprinkleofsunshine · 27/09/2018 12:22

@everythingisnew I've been sick every day since 5 weeks. 6 weeks today, feels like a long way to go.

Is anyone not having an early scan and just waiting for the 12 week one?

everythingisnew · 27/09/2018 12:33

@sprinkleofsunshine oh no, I guess our bodies might just get a bit more used to the feeling. Fingers crossed.

I think I will have an early scan, mainly for the reassurance, but not sure when - sometime between 8-10 weeks I think.

My sister in law has just announced her 3rd pregnancy to the family at 9 weeks, she had an early scan due to some bleeding. As it turns out, we're pretty close in weeks (except no one knows) and I selfishly Confused want my own little moment as my parents have been waiting ages for this.

frankiefumbles · 27/09/2018 14:19

@everythingisnew yesterday was like that for me. From waking up to walking the dog, going to Tesco and then trying to sit down and do some work it was just catastrophic. I was bed bound until 1 and totally unproductive. I could have sworn I was going to puke in Tesco.

Today has been muuuuuch better, I've just felt like eating ...however I'm now knackered. I feel brain dead too so I can't get the work done when I want to.

@sprinkleofsunshine I'm trying to hold out til I get back from hols (9+?) but I don't get to the booking appointment til about 10+3 so I bet they won't fit me in by 12w. I want to have the NIPT done because I feel we are higher risk and I want to be fully informed, so I will likely do that week 10/11

SpannerH · 27/09/2018 15:08

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is well! Morning sickness started Tuesday, on a plane, on the way back from Portugal. It was lovely! I am sort of glad though, it means the pregnancy is progressing further than last time. 20th I measured at 5+6 but that's not possible (due to last pregnancy) so I reckon I will be 5+5 when I have my next scan on 1st Oct. Hopefully we will see heartbeat but may need to wait a little longer still.

AmyL88 · 27/09/2018 17:10

Hi Ladies can i join in.

Got my BFP after 2 loooong years TTC after a MMC.

Estimated due date 25th May but expecting to be a little later as my cycles are a little unpredictable. I'm having a scan on the 16th Oct as i was on clomid when i conceived. So nervous but trying to remain hopeful. I have the odd sickness/dizzy feeling so taking that as a good sign. Boobs aren't too bad but nipples are a little tender...TMI! Is it weird i am actually WANTING all the symptoms Grin

Redken24 · 27/09/2018 18:29

Congrats @AmyL88

Welcome to da club 😎

Gillian1980 · 27/09/2018 19:44

Hiya.
I’m about 5+4 according to my last period so estimated due date 26th may.
So excited!!
Got a private scan on 7th Oct. had a very early miscarriage in June so will be reassured if we’re able to see that things are ok.
We have dd age 3 already and she is always asking to be a big sister so I can’t wait to tell her.

JessieL98 · 27/09/2018 20:39

Hi everyone,

I found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago. It’s still sinking in but I’m 7+5 and due around 12th May. I’ve booked a private scan for this Saturday as I’m a total worrier and just want to make sure everything is okay!

Can’t wait until the 2nd trimester when this constant nausea hopefully stops!

Congrats everyone Smile

Bluebird4 · 27/09/2018 20:49

Congratulations and Hi 👋🏻

Just booked a private scan for Sunday I'll be almost 7 weeks. Will be nice to have some reassurance and hopefully good news. Ten years ago I had three early miscarriages in a row... then the most complicated pregnancy (identical twin girls) stuck!!! Funny how things work out..... Now I'm 41 and doing this for the 2nd time round, ... have just been stood on a freezing pitch watching my girls play hockey wondering what I'm supposed to do with a baby in May!!

sprinkleofsunshine · 28/09/2018 10:18

Welcome and congratulations to all the newbies.

Can someone help me out with dates? This seems like a really silly question but I'm confused now. I was counting from the date of my last period which would make me 6+1. However I'm pretty sure I know the date I ovulated and roughly when I would have conceived which would only put me at about 4+4.

I don't want to get to the scan and be nearly two weeks under what I thought I was. Time was going so slow anyway feels like ever longer now Sad is that the right way to do t? Sorry if that's a silly question this is my first and not had this convo with anyone before.

expatlife · 28/09/2018 10:26

@sprinkleofsunshine it is very confusing, but they calculate your pregnancy from the date of your last period (not date of conception/ovulaion) . So by the time you actually conceive, you're 2 weeks (or thereabouts) pregnant.

Floofsquidge · 28/09/2018 10:27

@sprinkleofsunshine it's dated from the first day of last period so you're 6 weeks +.
My first time too but I was using 2 fertility tracker apps while TTC which switch to follow pregnancy mode, and they know when I ovulated / conceived, but they still date from First day of last period. I'd be lost without those.

sprinkleofsunshine · 28/09/2018 10:28

Ok so the dating scan takes that into consideration aswell? I was wondering if they did that until the scan and then actually gave you your proper dates but realised most people would be nearly 2 weeks behind where they thought they were.

I guess I just wasn't sure that the extra 2 weeks were the full way through the pregnancy or whether once they could tell from your scan they took those off again if you see what I mean? Anyway thank you for answering @expatlife Smile

sprinkleofsunshine · 28/09/2018 10:29

Thanks @Floofsquidge that makes me much happier because it's going slow as it is - I don't want to be going backwards aswell!! X

Mummab3ar · 28/09/2018 11:30

Wohoo! So many 08 May 2019 mummies! (Me too)! This is my third, and I am so so excited!

em254 · 28/09/2018 14:30

Talk about symptoms coming and going, felt very queasy at the beginning of the week and then woke up yesterday feeling great, no symptoms at all. It’s nice feeling again but also quite alarming. I have my private scan booked for Tuesday..8 weeks exactly. Can’t come quick enough!!

Floofsquidge · 28/09/2018 19:11

6 weeks +1 unexpected symptom watch: whitehead pimples!

Bluebird4 · 29/09/2018 12:24

@em254 I'm in the same boat.... I've had missed miscarriages before.... so I'm obsessed about symptoms! I have some but really feel ok the majority of the time. Got a private scan (almost 8 weeks) tomorrow. I'm half dreading it! I think I'm making my boobs sore 'cos I keep knocking them to see if they hurt! 😂

expatlife · 30/09/2018 09:46

Just had my 8 week scan and all of a sudden it feels very real! Scan wasn't too clear, but heard the heartbeat and measurements all ok. Such a relief!

buntingandstarcharts · 30/09/2018 10:13

@expatlife that's fabulous! Congratulations! Yay.

Anyone feeling like a balloon?! I feel enormous and nothing fits. It's not nice! But nice to know that things are clearly taking place in there! Feel so grotty though.

expatlife · 30/09/2018 15:25

@buntingandstarcharts yes! None of my work trousers fit, my bras are all too small and I'm at the 'look like I ate all the pies, not pregnant' stage! 😭
