Hey, I’ve just found out I’m pregnant and that I’ll be due in May. I’ve had 4 miscarriages and have no children so I’m really nervous! It’s still really early but would love to talk to other people due in May. Even though I know it’s still really early and lots of people may not know their due date yet!

@buntingandstarcharts You should! It definitely put my mind at ease too as wasn't sure if all the niggles and pain I was feeling was normal. I think they say 6 weeks is the earliest. You can't hear the heart beat but can just see the flicker of it. I recommend it! Xx

em254 · 22/09/2018 08:39

Anyone else’s symptoms coming and going? Started to feel sick at the around 5 1/2 weeks but now 6 1/2 weeks and feeling fine, just hungry. Started to worry me that things aren’t progressing...

lifechanginglemoncake · 22/09/2018 09:10

Hi @em254
I'm having exactly the same (though earlier). Was feeling sick one day then fine the next and it has worried me a bit. But I'm only 4 weeks so probably early for stronger symptoms.
Anyone else getting incredibly vivid dreams? Dreamed I miscarried last night which scared me a lot when I woke up as it felt so real.

frankiefumbles · 22/09/2018 09:22

@sprinkleofsunshine I'm just catching up on this thread (I've commented on so many I can't remember if I've commented on this one but I'm sure I've seen your name before!) re your hcg...I'm having mine done next week for the same reason you did. I have had two early losses. I should know by end of next week. Assuming mine also come back positive...is your GP continuing to have you in for more tests or have they decided that's sufficient? Congratulations on the results though. That should feel like quite a relief although imagine it hasn't eliminated all the worry.

@em254 symptoms being variable is natural
@lifechanginglemoncake the vivid dreams are definitely a symptom. I get them far too frequently. Last night was a very creative treasure hunt in triathlon format. It was exhausting and I didn't even finish the race!

sprinkleofsunshine · 22/09/2018 09:22

@lifechanginglemoncake @em254 I've been having vivid dreams and symptoms come and go too. My sore bbs went about 4.5 weeks but are now back at 5+2 and have been for the last few days. I was sick once at 5weeks exactly came on out of the blue and a bit of nausea yesterday morning at 5+1 but gone since. I think I read it's quite common for symptoms to come & go at this stage? X

AndyLouise · 22/09/2018 09:52

Hi All! I’m due may 9th. I’ve had an early scan because I said about the pain that I’ve seen some of you have had there was a gestational sac only so I had to play the waiting game for another scan. Whilst waiting on Monday I started spotting so I booked a private scan and all was well there was a heartbeat and the spotting had stopped. I still had my nhs scan booked for Friday - yesterday and started spotting again just before. They said the heartbeat was fine and couldn’t help me anymore with the spotting. Is anyone else having spotting as it’s saturday morning now and I’m still spotting I’m worried sick. I do have period pains but I’ve had these all along. Xxx

frankiefumbles · 22/09/2018 10:10

@AndyLouise red spotting or brown spotting?

AndyLouise · 22/09/2018 10:32

Hi frankie. I had a pink on the Monday then yesterday I had brown/pinkish but also had slightly red with tiny little clots. This morning it’s more like a pink/dark yellow. Sounds bizarre I know x

frankiefumbles · 22/09/2018 11:25

It's probably alright - it's all a bit frustrating. The thing you don't really want is the super bright crimson spotting but equally even that can be okay if it's one of those pockets of blood that dislodges - and if you've had a little pocket burst then that would go from bright red to brown. Maybe the yellow is actually dilute brown? My friend has had brown spotting and pink discharge all the way through her pregnancy with the occasional red bleed. They eliminated all sorts of things (including infections etc) and in the end they decided that was just normal for her and the pregnancy is now 20+ weeks and progressing normally.

AndyLouise · 22/09/2018 16:37

Thank you that’s made me feel a bit better. I went out and brought all the food I fancied, if I’m not having a drink I’m having a bit of everything that I fancy Grin hope you have a nice evening xx

zen001 · 22/09/2018 20:21

Hi ladies,

Can I join?

So after a whirlwind of a week I got to see my little beans heartbeat! I'm around 7 wks.

Too cut a long story short I had a scan on Monday and no gestational sac or yolk was present and was prepared for the worse by the nurse.. 3 days later I had another scan and there was an embryo with a heartbeat!! None of us could believe it!!

I've read that a couple of you are in a similar position so hopefully this helps. Positive thoughts being sent your way!

Roll on 13 weeks!!

em254 · 22/09/2018 21:21

AndyLouise, I had bright pink spotting too that later turned to brown. I think the yellow can be all extra mucus your body is producing for the mucus plug. When I first saw pink I panicked as I had really bad cramping but it stopped after a few days.
I’ve read so many spotting threads that I think it’s very normal :)
Treating yourself is definitely the right thing to do! x

em254 · 22/09/2018 21:24

@Zen001 that’s really great news, you must have gotten such a scare! That’s the perfect end to what must have been a very stressful week!

AndyLouise · 22/09/2018 22:26

I bet they were 3 long days! Congratulations xxx

AndyLouise · 22/09/2018 22:27

@em254 thanks for your reply, how far along are you? I tried to scroll back to see but couldn’t find xxx

Russell19 · 23/09/2018 08:19

Hi again everyone, I'm 5+4 currently and have no symptoms anymore....started with light cramping and going to the loo more but now nothing. Maybe it's a little early. Anyone else in a similar situation?? Just worries me!

zen001 · 23/09/2018 08:23

@AndyLouise
yes the longest in my life. Wouldn't wish those few days on anyone. I was lucky they rescanned me after 3 days as they wanted to initially wait over a week to go back!

@Russell19
Symptoms came and went around your time. Cramps are normal as there is a lot of expanding going on down below. Unless you bleed heavily or have extremely painful cramps I wouldn't worry to much as your still very early. X

AndyLouise · 23/09/2018 08:28

I had to wait for another scan as my first scan I only had a gestational sac that was on a Monday then then booked me in for the following Friday 11 days later but I had a private scan because of the bleeding. Horrible waiting time. Xxx

zen001 · 23/09/2018 08:37

@AndyLouise so glad u got your heartbeat x

Rubberduckies · 23/09/2018 08:52

Hi everyone. I'm 4+6 and due at the end of May. It's all completely surreal and I don't quite believe it. We have been waiting for the manic 2 years trying so we can finally start ivf and getting thoroughly depressed about it. And then I was a few days late and here I am!

I have general nausea/queasinest all the time and my mouth keeps watering which is gross. I've booked a scan for 7 weeks - just 2 more weeks to wait....

em254 · 23/09/2018 10:56

@AndyLouise I’m 6+5 today and due the 14th of May. Private scan booked for the 2nd of October... counting down every day!

Beckyz88 · 23/09/2018 11:02

Hi everyone,

I’m new here and first pregnancy so no idea what to expect! I’ll be due May 25. I had a doctor’s appointment yesterday but I use GP at hand so not face-to-face. She referred me and said I should have my first appointment around 12 weeks which seems super late to me?? Plus reading this thread I see people have had scans at 7. Do you think she made a mistake? Thanks - look forward to talking with you all!

zen001 · 23/09/2018 11:19

Hi @Beckyz88 congratulations on your BFP!

Booking in appointments can be anywhere between 8-12 weeks and 1st scan around 13-14 weeks.

Ppl getting earlier scans have either gone private or have had or at risk of complications, so get offered a early scan for observation.

X

expatlife · 23/09/2018 11:20

@Beckyz88 I think 12 weeks is the standard, a lot of people prefer to pay for a private scan earlier for reassurance (did his with my first and with this pregnancy also). 12 weeks seems like such a loooong time to wait! Congrats on the BFP!

Beckyz88 · 23/09/2018 11:59

@zen001, OK cool thanks for the info!

@expatlife thank yes seems like ages, I think I’ll want the reassurance earlier too so will look into private scans
