Hi all, so I've only just found out I'm pregnant! 3.5 weeks so still early on but looking for others in the same stages as me. Marginally terrified, apprehensive and anxious but majorly excited for my journey with little bean!

I'm really struggling with feeling sick (but I'm definitely not complaining). I just don't fancy anything to eat at all and in a morning and at night I feel soooo sick, but I've never felt so happy to feel sick 😂

Only a week to go until my early scan, I'm nervous/excited. How's everyone else feeling?

donna474 · 23/08/2018 12:55

@unicornxo it's weird isn't it, I feel nauseous when I first wake and then It subsides after a while. Never been so happy to feel sick before though 😂 I'm struggling with my appetite at the moment, the only thing I really want to eat are chopped fresh tomatoes and balsamic vinegar. Treated myself to some
Mozzarella and pesto at the shop to make a bruschetta so I feel fancy

@unicornxo snap! I just don't know what I want to eat, and feel permanently queasy/unsettled but no vomiting yet, which I'm quite happy about!

My early scan is a week on Sunday, feeling the same -apprehensive and excited all at the same time.

Sounds delicious @donna474 hope you enjoy it! Are you getting some rest this afternoon or are the kids running you ragged 😂

donna474 · 23/08/2018 14:03

@TheMagicTorch I've managed to get them things to do without much effort from me, luckily they've just asked if they can sit and watch a film. I was like 'hell yeah' now I've escaped upstairs with my half decaf/half caffeine coffee to read the Boots free magazine. Simple things!

@donna474 Oh lucky, hope you enjoy your little bit of 'me' time! x

I need some advice please
My boyfriend and I booked a holiday to Egypt ages ago before I knew I was pregnant. I’m freaking out a bit as I know the food there can be a bit dodge.
We can’t amend or change the holiday as it’s in like 4 weeks...what’s people’s thoughts?
We’ve spoken about it a lot and that I could get ill anywhere...and just need to watch what I eat etc. I’ll be 10 weeks when we go.
When I told the midwife over the phone. She didn’t seem concerned. She said the only place that she’d be worried about would be the carribean because of the zeeka virus.

donna474 · 23/08/2018 14:28

@Nicbos89 I think if you try and eat as bland meals as you can then you'd be fine. Just embrace the rest of the culture but avoid anything that isn't chips basically, everyone I've know whose gone to Egypt has had 'Delhi belly' but that's from eating more of the local foods. Drink bottled water, brush your teeth with bottled water and maybe take some dried noodles to cook with boiled water in worst case scenarios. Stay away from the goats brains!

I hate to be that person but I really really need some support before I have a breakdown. I am 5 weeks pregnant tomorrow and all of my symptoms have disappeared - even the discharge which was increasing a LOT, has started to decrease again. Boobs are still a little tender but hardly anything, nausea has passed...

I’m really freaking out and I can’t shake this horrible feeling that something has gone wrong. I took a PG test on Monday and it was a strong positive but I know HCG can hang around for a while so I’m not too reassured by it.

Can someone advise? Too early for me to go for an U/S and blood tests at Docs are not an option.

I can’t shake this feeling and it’s making me so upset.

Thank you x

Nicbos89 · 23/08/2018 15:43

Thanks donna474
I think I’m just working myself up about it because it’s early days! I’ll try and enjoy myself 😊

unicornxo · 23/08/2018 17:33

@FSlater I'm 6 weeks today and this time last week my symptoms were on and off and it's only been this week that I've started to feel quite rubbish. They do come on and off, so try not to worry to much. I know it's hard because I'm worried too.

Also I know how addictive tests are but they are so inaccurate. When I'd had my MMC, 10 days after the baby had stopped growing I did a test and it was the strongest test I'd had so far.. So although they make you feel better for a few minutes they don't really tell you anything.

Are you feeling tired at all?

FSlater · 23/08/2018 17:43

@unicornxo thank you for replying. You’re right that’s why I didn’t find the pregnancy test very reassuring. I’m aware it could be false. I just don’t know what else to do, to put my mind at ease.

I am tired - but I didn’t sleep very well last night so that is very likely to be why.

Sorry to put such a downer on the post but I’m beside myself! I’ve really worked myself up.

Thank you so much for replying. I promise I’m normally a very stable happy person haha!

unicornxo · 23/08/2018 17:56

@FSlater I know how you feel it's a horrible time. But I just keep thinking worrying won't change anything I suppose, but it's natural to.

I had some shoulder pain at the start of last week and got all worked up but it soon went off. This is exactly what these groups are for Smile are you going to book in for an early scan?

donna474 · 23/08/2018 18:32

@FSlater I'm only 5+1 but when I was 4+6 (which I believe you are today) I had no symptoms that day and went out to buy tests as I was convinced something was wrong. The next day everything was back to normal, I've stopped getting as many 'stretching' pains on my left side but feel a bit more queasy. It's horrible that we spend the two week wait symptom spotting and then we're doomed to spend the next 12 weeks symptom spotting and doubting everything. I'm sure all will be fine, I know that's no help or comfort but what goes on inside us is really out of our control, all we can do is make sure we are healthy and rested to give them the best chance possible.

@FSlater
I had lost all of my symptoms too this morning and then had some brown stuff on and off when I have been to the bathroom today.
I have an early scan tomorrow due to having had 2 miscarriages already this year.
Maybe see if you can get an early scan as well.

Kez99xo · 23/08/2018 18:36

Im due in april not with my first baby tho i have a son whos 5. Im 4 weeks & 5 days i had nausea before i even knew i was pregnant but its gone for now.

Whats everyones symptoms
I have mild cramping xx

Dancer31 · 23/08/2018 19:17

I had really sore boobs, bloating particularly in the afternoon, constantly going to the toilet and nausea feeling constantly for the 2 weeks after my BFP.
All my symptoms have stopped today though

Chivari · 23/08/2018 19:21

Congrats @Kez99xo. My symptoms are bloating (especially at night), very tired and sore boobs and nipples. What are yours? I have no morning sickness (yet!)

@FSlater I completely know what you are going through. I am usually ok in the day but then by the evening when I get tired I start to worry and feel anxious that either there is going to be no baby, it's heart has stopped beating or something bad is going to happen. Try not to worry. I think as long as you have no heavy bleeding and severe cramps then things should be ok xx

Chivari · 23/08/2018 19:49

Also I am 5+4 and had cramping during wk 3 which then went by the end of wk4 but seems to have returned this week - or it could be wind as I have crazy evening bloating and wind which can be uncomfortable. Anyone else still getting cramping during wk5-6?

FSlater · 23/08/2018 20:39

Thank you thank you thank you. You’ve all made me feel SO much better. I also took a CBD weeks test, and it does show me at the right number of weeks. Which for now is the most reassurance I can give myself. Of course it only works up to 6 weeks, so after next week I’ll need to focus on my mind!

But at least HCG levels are clearly still rising - and therefore I can confirm that your symptoms suddenly stopping doesn’t mean anything.

All your messages made me cry. A group of strangers, who totally have each other’s backs and feel empathy for each other.

I’ve got all your backs too!

MigMog · 23/08/2018 20:44

Just joined up. 31, Due mid April (but yet to confirm, I'm still awaiting my first chat with a midwife). I'm probably 6 and a bit weeks. Our first. We were trying for a year and 8 month. I found out a week before our first fertility appointment. Lucky!

Not been feeling too bad. No sickness. Lots of stomach ache, which sometimes wakes me in the night and you can catch me at 4 in the morning dancing around easing it off. Always shattered. Don't sleep a full nght ever (that's it for life now isn't it?). Starting to get achey joints now, hips, legs, knees. all part of the journey.

Sometimes find myself paying attention to every niggel (it's so hard not to isn't it?) but I'm eating well, getting rest, doing what I should. Fingers crossed for myself and all of you too.

MigMog · 23/08/2018 20:59

Also had a mini worry just now. Read on an other thread about some bad reviews on Asda tests giving out false positives. I've just looked at the terrible reviews. We did the Asda digital test. 2 positives and plenty things I'd consider signs of pregnancy. Do you think I have anything to worry about?

Chivari · 23/08/2018 21:22

Nothing to worry about @MigMog

If in doubt, go and buy a clear blue or even the boots own ones just to check. But I am sure it's all fine! And congratulations!

donna474 · 23/08/2018 21:27

@Chivari I'm getting cramps occasionally, more like ovulation pains on my left side but those have eased the last few days. I'm 5+1 today and feeling more tired and off my food, haven't felt hungry for a couple days, more that I'm having to make sure that I'm eating.
@FSlater we're all in this ride together now, a bunch of crazy, hormonal, bloated, gassy females growing humans- I think it's going to be a fun ride!

CrystalBlaze · 23/08/2018 21:28

Evening all. Hope everyone is okay. Sending positive vibes to those who are worried - I am sure it will be absolutely fine but it is such a stressful time.

I am five weeks tomorrow. Boobs are massive and sore and I am so bloated it's ridiculous. I already look pregnant!

donna474 · 23/08/2018 22:01

@CrystalBlaze I'm so bloated I look further along as well. Quite uncomfortable this evening but think it's just trapped wind! Joyful! My boobs have become fuller as well, I'm generally expanding quicker than I thought I would for 5 weeks!
