Hi all, so I've only just found out I'm pregnant! 3.5 weeks so still early on but looking for others in the same stages as me. Marginally terrified, apprehensive and anxious but majorly excited for my journey with little bean!

8 weeks today!!!!

Our landlord is selling our flat at the end of the year and keeps coming round unannounced for viewings... which ends up being pretty awkward when it’s 4pm and I’m led on the sofa in my pyjamas!!

I am craving everything salty - salt and vinegar crisps, McDonalds chips!!!

@Vegemiteee Congratulations!! It’s so nerve wracking. We had a dating scan at 7+1 which reassured me for about 2 days, but now I’m back to stressing again!! We’re just taking each day as it comes and telling friends the news is definitely helping as everyone is so excited!! Booking in appt next week, have spoken to the midwife on the phone already and she is very lovely so I’m sure she’ll make me feel great again too!

Chivari · 22/08/2018 06:59

Good morning ladies. And congratulations and welcome @Vegemiteee 🙂🙂

Anyone else experiencing extra hair loss as a early pg sign? My hair is definitely falling out so much more than normal. I thought you were meant to not lose hair during pregnancy??

MrsBonnie · 22/08/2018 08:02

@chiVari I read that you do lose hair because yours is working hard to replenish and make it thick and shiny! 😄

I’m glad I’m not alone with the constant worries. Everytime I go for a wee I have cramps that last 2-5 minutes. Every time I just expect to see blood because it feels just like a period. I wish I could relax 😔

donna474 · 22/08/2018 08:47

Morning ladies, 5 weeks today. Feeling exhausted already, I've got my SD's for the next three days at home alone and am exhausted just thinking about it! My boobs are growing and becoming very full, anyone getting horrible veins running through them? Bloating still happening but so much worse in the evening, I look about 6 months come bed time.

Hey everyone, 6 weeks today and although my boobs are killing the nausea I had last week seems to have gone, but maybe going back to work after a week off has given me something else to think about?
Been googling thou these last few days and I know I shouldn’t but I can’t help it, terrified that I’m gunna have a MMC if my symptoms fade! Might book an early scan for some comfort

TheMagicTorch · 22/08/2018 09:35

@donna474 Good luck with the SDs! Hopefully they don't tire you out too much! My bloating is terrible in the evenings, I'm having a 'PJ night' with a couple of my girlfriends on Friday night and I just hope I can hide the bloat!
My boobs feel really full and so heavy when I take my bra off. I've bought a sleep bra from Bravissimo (I normally sleep with nothing on 🙈) and that seems to have helped during the night and in the morning.

@Vegemiteee Mmm I love vegemite and marmite. I have just been craving anything beige, but I think it might just be comfort eating, toast, chips, paninis 😂
I'm really missing coffee too, working in an office I normally drink around 5-6 cups a day. I've swapped all but 2 a day to decaf, but my tiredness kicks in about 2pm when I could literally fall asleep at my desk. Could kill someone for a coffee at that point 😂

donna474 · 22/08/2018 10:25

@TheMagicTorch I think I'm going to get MIL to have them for a bit tomorrow to ease the pain! I've started putting half a spoon of caffeinated coffee in with my decaf in the afternoon just to give a little perk, helped for about 30 mins yesterday!

Morning ladies! I am with you all on the sore boobs and tiredness. I slept for about 10 hours last night. Also massively craving salty stuff, including bovril!

Had a chat with my OH last night, think he's feeling a bit overwhelmed. He said he was worried because he doesn't feel that excited or even scared at the moment. Think it's hard for it to feel real for men until you actually go for scans and things whereas we are obsessing over it constantly.

TheMagicTorch · 22/08/2018 11:30

@CrystalBlaze My OH is the same, whereas he can just go to work and forget about it I'm constantly thinking about the little bean I'm carrying inside us.
He says he can't wait for the scan so he can see it on the screen, think it will be a bit more real then.

dellabrew · 22/08/2018 11:41

So many congratulations to everyone..exciting times hey!! Only just saw this thread, found out we were pregnant 2 weeks ago and honestly seems like forever already...am 7 weeks now and time just seems to be going sooooooooo slowly lol im way too impatient :) from my dates the bubba is due 8th April but obviously waiting for the dating scan to get the 'official date'. Am going to announce it this weekend, was wanting to wait til 12 weeks but that is just too far away lol :)

CrystalBlaze · 22/08/2018 11:44

How are you feeling @della? Have you had many symptoms?

Vegemiteee · 22/08/2018 12:06

Yay! 7 weeks today! Officially a foetus 😂

@jellybeann Hope the move won't be too stressful for you, what a terrible time to have to move, but at least it's not after bubba is born! 😊

Sore boobs and starving over here! 🙋Was so bloated initially when we found out but seems to have improved a bit!

Lost 3 1/2 stone with Slimming World by the time I found out, planning to stay to group throughout the pregnancy to avoid excess weight gain - loving the extra dairy allowance!! ❤️ Anyone else had weight struggles or going to weight loss groups whilst pregnant? Finding the plan easy but I have developed such a sweet tooth! Had a custard donut at the weekend which is so unlike me but it was like the best thing I'd ever eaten!! 😂

CrystalBlaze · 22/08/2018 13:59

@Vege I am ridiculously bloated and feel huge already at not even 5 weeks. It's ridiculous!

Not trying to lose weight as such (although I could stand to drop a few pounds) but just going to try and keep exercising as much as possible and eat well. OH is also healthy eating which is helpful!

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 22/08/2018 14:39

Vege can we stay at SW whilst pregnant then? I still have 1.5 stone that I’d wanted to lose and had signed a 12 week that finishes mid September, I don’t want to tell my leader yet though.

TheMagicTorch · 22/08/2018 14:53

@SheRaTheAllPowerful Yep! If I recall correctly it's the only slimming plan officially approved by the NHS & midwives. I think you can stay until baby is born and then can re-join 6 weeks post partum.

Congrats on your fab loss @Vegemiteee I was trying to lose before I got pregnant but only managed 10lb so still slightly overweight but trying not to beat myself up - I wanted to be one of those gracefully slim pregnant ladies with a cute bump but those dreams seem far away now! Trying to stick to the main concept of SW for a while but struggling not to eat convenience food and takeaways when I'm tired

Vegemiteee · 22/08/2018 15:10

@SheRaTheAllPowerful
You can definitely still attend SW! Once you tell your consultant you get a little booklet on healthy eating advice. The aim is not to lose weight but to maintain your weight during pregnancy. You get an extra A and B choice to ensure you're eating enough calcium and fibre. The best thing is, there is more calcium in low fat dairy products so you can have more of it, yes to double cheese 😂 you just have to consult your midwife and get signed consent that they are still happy for you to attend when you go to your appointments, to ensure that the pregnancy stays safe 😊

Vegemiteee · 22/08/2018 15:14

@TheMagicTorch
Thank you! It's been a struggle since the wedding but perseverance pays off! I've been the same as you this week, I get up to work at 5.30am and don't return til 9pm so I'm picking up snacks on the way home and just eat what I can to make it through the day! Demolished a whole papa johns at the weekend, baby clearly loves it 😂

LynzSxx · 22/08/2018 16:26

@Vegemiteee well done on your loss! I have been going to slimming world for 19 months now. Lost 11 stone but I have put a few lbs back on since being pregnant🙈 hope I can sort it out and not gain any more. Love that we can have extra healthy extras! 😃

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 22/08/2018 16:41

Wow Lynz that is incredible?

LynzSxx · 22/08/2018 17:19

@SheRaTheAllPowerful thank you! :) just got to make sure it doesn't all come back on🙈

Nicbos89 · 22/08/2018 18:35

Hi. First time doing anything like this.
I’m 6 weeks pregnant today with my first. Got my scan date and blood test appointment through today so all feeling a bit more real. The paranoia of turning up to the scan and there being no baby is real...
Let’s hope the next 6 and a half weeks go by quick!

LynzSxx · 22/08/2018 19:09

Hi @Nicbos89 congratulations! I know it's horrible that we feel like that but fingers crossed everything is fine 😊

Unicorn234 · 22/08/2018 20:28

Hey ladies hope your all feeling okay 😊
I've been so windy today... I actually had stitch on my left side earlier and I started panicking, got home and done a number 2 and everything is okay 😂 sorry if TMI

Also is anyone getting swollen ankles already?? I thought that was meant to happen at the end not at the beginning lol. It might have something to do with working in a toddler room with lots of children and constantly being on the go? I'm only 6+5 but come 2.30 I'm knackered 😭😭 it's a struggle to stay awake till 6 for the end of my shift lol xx

dellabrew · 22/08/2018 21:43

@CrystalBlaze ...uhhhh dont ask !!!! Terrible - the first week was great and I was on top of the world...then morning sickness hit, or rather, the all day sickness....I can hardly eat or drink anything without puking all I want to do is lie in bed all day! Really really hoping it doesnt last beyond the first trimester because I cannot cope with that...! Crazy, the first day I was sick I was so pleased coz it made it all feel more real....now I am kicking myself for that lol :)

donna474 · 23/08/2018 11:30

I'm struggling with any motivation for anything today, just want a day doing nothing in bed watching crap tv but got to entertain the skids, there's only so long I can sit them infront of the tv for 😩
