Hi all, so I've only just found out I'm pregnant! 3.5 weeks so still early on but looking for others in the same stages as me. Marginally terrified, apprehensive and anxious but majorly excited for my journey with little bean!

Thanks @jellybean I'm 12 this weekend so I think I'll try chase her again next week.

unicornxo · 27/09/2018 15:15

I had my booking appointment yesterday at 11 weeks and they've rung with my scan date today.. It is next Friday. I'm not sure if I'm nervous or excited. How's everyone feeling?

TheMagicTorch · 28/09/2018 10:20

@unicornxo I am both about my scan, it's Tuesday 9th October and I'm both excited and so anxious!

My sickness is disappearing and appearing on a daily basis now, which in some ways is better than it being constant! But so unpredictable. Also so tired!

ChaosMoon · 28/09/2018 12:58

Hi ladies. Can I join? I've been lurking for a while but had my scan today so it's feeling real - and safe - at last.

Sorry to hear that so many of you are being messed around with your scan appointments. I think I'm really lucky with the maternity services by me.

MigMog · 28/09/2018 17:32

My midwife eventually got in touch today. Apparently my scan appointment to the hospital had got lost in the IT system. She said I was a priority now and that it was being faxed over this am. I rang the hospital at the end of the day
STILL NO SCAN APPOINTMENT OR info at the hospital!

Totally feel like I'm getting messed about with this.

I'm going to chase on Monday again. I'm hoping when it eventually arrives at the hospital they will turn it round quick. I'm 12 weeks on Sunday. I just want to know I don't have weeks and weeks left of waiting.

ChaosMoon · 28/09/2018 21:53

@MigMog that's awful. Two suggestions. First, contact your local PALS. (www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/nhs-services-and-treatments/what-is-pals-patient-advice-and-liaison-service/) They should be able to give you advice on escalating this to a more senior level.

The other thing you could do is go onto NHS Choices and leave a review. That feels a bit like a nuclear response, but public reviews can be very effective. Tread carefully though, you don't want it to affect your relationship with your midwives.

I really hope they get back to you with an appointment on Monday, and it doesn't come to any of this.

Blgb · 29/09/2018 08:16

@Unicorn234 yeah mines not until 11 October so I think il be 13+1 by then, I think my due date is the 17th April. I’be already had an early scan but I just can’t wait to see it looking like an actual baby lol. I’m so happy for you! And you managed to get through it without the dreaded sickness!

Unicorn234 · 30/09/2018 10:20

@Blgb I've been sick about 4 times but can't complain really, I've had it easy so far 🤞
I booked my 20 week scan in aswell which is 27th November but think I might pay for a scan around 16 weeks to find out what I'm having 😀
No way there's only like 1 day between our due dates haha xx

BabyBoo19 · 30/09/2018 15:53

Hello ladies,
I had an early scan which showed I was 7 weeks, I'm now 11 weeks today with my next scan on October 8th. I struggled with nausea and sickness which disappeared at week 8/9, I thought it had gone but it hit me again this week and I've been ill every day 😢 it's making me so emotional, I've cried because I was happy about eating, and cried because I was sad I couldn't get comfortable. Such an emotional rollercoaster! I can't wait for the symptoms to disappear properly! Anyone else due April 21st? X

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 30/09/2018 20:42

Me @BabyBoo I’ve been feeling so rough and to top it off I have a cold as well now. Am in bed watching X factor and drinking herbal tea.
I think there’s quite a few of us with the same due date :)

Blgb · 01/10/2018 18:14

Awwww @Melrose86 I hope my scans as clear as that when I go! I thought my sickness had disappeared after 8 weeks but it keeps creeping back in every night for a cheeky couple of hours. And the awful taste in my mouth doesn’t make it any better 🤢 Hopefully that this bit will end soon! Also really craving a prawn cocktail and it’s killing me not been able to have one! 😂 anyone else got any strange cravings?

minniecat2406 · 01/10/2018 18:17

@Blgb NHS advice says shellfish are fine, so you can have your prawn cocktail! X

Melrose86 · 01/10/2018 18:20

Can't believe how clear my scan was. I was lucky that baby was behaving!x

Blgb · 01/10/2018 18:21

Really?! Everyone I’ve spoken to told me to stay away from shellfish! And runny eggs, and soft cheese, and everything that tastes good 😂😂

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 01/10/2018 20:25

@Blgb NHS website says cooked is fine so you can have your prawn cocktail, runny eggs are ok too as long as lion stamped. Sadly no to soft fresh cheese although cottage cheese & mozzarella are ok.

I’m sad about Christmas food though, I live for nice paté’s and blue cheeses and a lovely big glass of red wine!

TheMagicTorch · 02/10/2018 11:03

SheRaTheAllPowerful Yup, for me it's pate, blue cheese and prosecco. Going to miss that this year!

Lorrie3 · 02/10/2018 15:54

Anybody else been hit by cravings with a bang? I 10+2 and just demolished 2 bowls of cereal at 345pm in the day! I never ever eat cereal! My diet is gone to pot

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 02/10/2018 17:35

@Lorrie3 my diet also horrendous, I am craving sugar and I never normally have a sweet tooth. Rice pudding and tinned peaches I bought today wtf?? Also biscuits and chocolate. I NEVER order pudding really I’d rather eat starters and mains, it’s so weird. My last pregnancy I craved tomatoes, which was healthier at least.
I’m worried I am going to pile on the weight if I keep eating like this :(

donna474 · 03/10/2018 20:02

I'm full of a cold ladies, normally I'd dose myself up with cold and flu tablets but fear this will just stick around for a while now
