First babies due in April

Hi all, so I've only just found out I'm pregnant! 3.5 weeks so still early on but looking for others in the same stages as me. Marginally terrified, apprehensive and anxious but majorly excited for my journey with little bean!

@MigMog I've just heard from my sister who is being kept in hospital and induced so she won't be out till she's had her now! Can't wait to meet the little one!
I'm sorry your sister didn't take the news well. I find it difficult to understand why people get like that. All of my family, especially my sisters, have all been happy and supportive of each other's pregnancies. Although the sister who is 2 weeks ahead of me was worried how I would take her news because this is my first but her third, but I'm honestly so happy!

I know @purple it's very strange. I'm very excited to meet my next niece. My sis is going in for her induction today. So not long too!

Hi @purplestar9 am doing ok-ish, apart from the delightful sicky feelings! 10+4 today, scan in 2 weeks which can't come soon enough! How about you?

@MigMog that sounds great! My sister has been having contractions since 2am and was supposed to have her waters broken this evening but it was too busy in the ward so it didn't happen. Me and my mum took her two kids over to see her and they broke their hearts crying! I struggled to hold back tears!
@5tarlight I'm good thank you. I'm not feeling quite as sicky as I was. Just gotta make sure I eat otherwise I do feel sick. I'm 9 weeks today. Got another midwife appointment tomorrow so hopefully will have my scan date through soon!

@purple how has your sis got on over night? My sis is having a very slow process now. She's not been dilating enough. She's told me all about the pain though. Eek!

My sister had a c section at 5:30 this morning so she's finally here! Apparently there wasn't enough fluid around the baby which is why they had to get her out early, so she's having treatment for that now but other than that I think all is okay! Yeh my sis said she's gonna tell me all about it in a couple of days... not sure I wanna know!

I’m 10 & 3 today, still no scan date, apparently they are quite late to issue them here. Which is annoying.

@purplestar9 glad you're coping okay with sickness. I haven't had any at all touches wood aside from mild nausea and I am 10 weeks Friday.

On the messed up appointment I sent a long email to the hospital saying I wasn't happy. They were very apologetic so hopefully they can fit me in sooner.

@sheratheallpowerfull I'm 11 and 4 and I still don't have a scan either. I rang the hospital last week and my midwife still hadn't processed stuff. I've tried to chase her this week without any luck. I'm going to try ring the hosp on Friday if I don't have a date yet.

So frustrating. They say it has to be done by 13.6 which is just over 2 weeks for me. Would a hospital turn an appointment round that quick?

I had my booking in appointment on Monday. I was given my scan date at the same time. I'm booked in for 22nd October. Feels so long away! Pretty sure I'll be approaching 14 weeks by that point, is that too late for the 12 week scan?

I just popped into the hospital, she recognized my name as she said my letter had gone out today, 14th October when I’ll be 13 weeks. Feels like forever!

@buttons28 I think scans can happen anytime up-to 13 weeks and 6.

Mines probably going to be around then I reckon. Feels like ages, especially because you end up waiting and thinking of 12 weeks being the landmark. Then you have to wait a little longer!

@MigMog it really does feels so far away doesn't it?! I'm not sure how I'm going to get through the next few weeks without telling anyone as I'd really like the scan to confirm everything is ok before we start telling people. It really feels like I'm right on the limit with the scan date if it can only be done up to 13+6. I keep thinking what if I'm wrong with my dates and I'm actually further along 🙈

@CrystalBlaze hello :) I do feel a little better than I did so fingers crossed I'll start to feel a bit more normal soon! That's great, I'm glad you don't have much! You're about 4 days ahead of me! I'm 9+1 today :)

There was talk on scan dates. I tried my hospital again and they still have no info or requests for an appointment through.

What is my midwife playing at!?

I came back off of holiday last week expecting to find a letter with a date for my scan as I was 12 weeks already but didn’t have anything. Spoke to the midwife at 12+3 (which was a Friday) and she said that for some reason I wasn’t on the system, then rang back 5 minutes later to say she had just booked me in for the Monday (when I was 12+6) at 9am! They definitely can be quick if they need/want to be, so if you haven’t had a date by the time you’re 12 weeks I’d say pester them a little!

It was so lovely seeing our happy healthy little baby, and it’s made everything feel even more real now they look like a baby rather than just a little blob!!
