Hi all, so I've only just found out I'm pregnant! 3.5 weeks so still early on but looking for others in the same stages as me. Marginally terrified, apprehensive and anxious but majorly excited for my journey with little bean!

I’m 7 weeks so could have a scan now but last time I waited until 10 weeks for a private scan so it feels like jumping the gun if I do it earlier. Maybe I’m just being weird!

CrystalBlaze · 03/09/2018 07:58

Morning ladies, how are we all? Can anyone else absolutely not be bothered with work? Can't believe I still have to go for another seven months Wink

Verity89 · 03/09/2018 08:13

Very overwhelmed. I haven't told anyone yet. It feels wrong to tell anyone before my parents and there on holiday and then i am on holiday so i have a lot going on inside my head that I cant tell anyone about. To top it off i was meant to be going to mexico in 2 days time on the holiday of a lifetime but I can't because of Zika Virus so i am also lying to everyone i know about that too. I have my first hormonal breakdown yesterday and couldn't stop crying for no reason besides feeling tired of lying to people. The only pregnancy symptom im having too is really bad stomach cramps and severe hunger which suck, but I know it could be worse.
Anyways thanks for asking. I guess I'm using this thread as a way to tell everyone as i can't tell anyone in person! Thanks for the ear!
I hope that you are well. When is yours due? ps i dont know how to reply directly to you Purplestar9 ...? Any hints would be welcome! X

Verity89 · 03/09/2018 08:20

And thank you @SheRa AllThePower That's very reassuring to know they will keep a close eye. I have a history of cervical cancer so i am doubly high risk as you know twins are already high risk and i have a weak cervix. That in itself is very scary for me. God I sound so miserable about the whole thing! I'll be a lot happier when I've told everyone so i can vent all my fears and woes to them instead of you poor ladies who already have your own pregnancy matters! How are you feeling now then? What were your symptoms before? Another set of twins would be rather a handful but one hell of a blessing! Do you have it in the family? Xx

CrystalBlaze · 03/09/2018 08:31

@Verity it is totally normal to feel so overwhelmed! Having a baby is a huge deal and you're having two! Just be kind to yourself and remember you're only keeping information back temporarily and people will understand when all becomes clear! Smile

Is your partner supporting you? How far along are you?

unicornxo · 03/09/2018 10:25

@Verity89

Congrats Verity that's amazing news!!

@CrystalBlaze
I feel exactly the same about work, I had last week off and literally slept all week. I really don't want to be here this week.

How's everyone feeling?

unicornxo · 03/09/2018 10:34

@TheMagicTorch
I'm glad your scan went well, your internal images are so much clearer than mine externally.. Makes a big difference doesn't it?

What mm did yours measure?

TheMagicTorch · 03/09/2018 10:53

@unicornxo yeah we could hardly see anything on the external, the scanner saw it and the heartbeat but she's professionally trained to spot these things! I was glad she said she saw it before she suggested the internal as it meant I didn't panic.
I was really scared of the internal but it wasn't bad at all.
Its 9.8mm 😀

purplestar9 · 03/09/2018 13:18

@CrystalBlaze I'm hoping working is going to keep my mind occupied! Just had last week off so back in today, however the morning has gone quick so lunch break now then only another 3 hours to go!

@Verity89 that is a lot to be dealing with! I understand you not wanting to tell anyone until your parents though. My parents were first to know but now I'm not too bothered about keeping it secret from everyone else. Due date for mine is 30th April :)
How are you feeling today?

AlinaHC · 03/09/2018 15:24

Hi! I am also due on April with my first baby . I am 9 weeks pregnant, suffering of bad morning sickness (that of course lasts all day ahaha). They say this is the worse week and I hope that is not the case as I have my in laws visiting the next 3 days and they don't know yet the big news :)

Had already my first hospital appointment when I was 7 weeks, had blood test and some checks done (lost 2 kg because of the sickness, can't eat much at the moment), scan only booked for the 27th of this month.

Anyway can't wait to meet the little one (we don't want to know before if it's a boy of a girl so looking forward for the big moment :)

I hope you don't get to have any morning sickness!!! :)

dellabrew · 03/09/2018 17:11

Wow Verity, thats amazing news...I can understand your worrying tho ....just take it easy though and try and enjoy having such a very special little secret of your own, dont think of it as lying to everyone!

Really tempted to book an early scan but trying to be patient...hopefully only 3 weeks or so, still havent had the date come through yet.

Chivari · 03/09/2018 18:08

Congratulations @Verity89 I can imagine it's overwhelming but it will sink in and when babies are here it will be SO worth it

Completely know what you mean @CrystalBlaze I'm calculating the earliest date I can start maternity leave! 😂😂 it's 11 weeks before baby is due!

Love scan images @TheMagicTorch we can't wait for ours the week after next!

Welcome @AlinaHC is this your first? I am with you on the morning sickness. No actual sickness yet just severe nausea 🤢 when did yours start? Mine started bang on 7 weeks! Feeling better this evening thought which is lovely

AlinaHC · 03/09/2018 18:35

Thank you @Chivari! my first, yes :) Mine around week 6...I was sick, nauseous all day...it looks like it is improving even though today is not a good day... thank God for ginger chews :)) How do you cope? what tips do you have for the sickness? Glad at least you are feeling good!

Chivari · 03/09/2018 19:13

Hi @AlinaHC ginger tea (Pukka) helps a little bit for me but basically it's making sure I don't get too hungry. I can't go for longer than about 2 hours without a little snack or meal. Make sure you get lots of rest too as being tired makes it worse.

For lunch i had sticky sushi rice and some chicken and that made me feel almost normal for about 2 hours which was lovely! How about you? Just ginger chews?

Unicorn234 · 03/09/2018 19:30

Got my first midwife appointment tomorrow, really looking forward to it 😊

Dreading the blood test though, it's my first ever one and I hate needles 😭😭

AlinaHC · 03/09/2018 19:49

@chivari I haven't had any tea yet but will give that a try. Same here, need to have a snack every couple of hours if not I feel very very sick. I also work in a reception where I am standing a lot (now I got a chair to have breaks but when we get busy no time for that) so I guess I get tired without realising and then I get sicker...

that sounds nice! I ma having a looot of potatoes :)) my favourite at the moment. Don't crave any sweets at all..lunch is ok but dinner time sometimes is not. What about your menu? any weird cravings yet? :)

@unicorn234 Good luck with the blood test! When I had mine done I didn't feel anything, the lady that took the blood was so gentle! I don't like needles either so I hope you will have somebody as I had!

donna474 · 03/09/2018 19:57

@CrystalBlaze I went back to work after 6 weeks off over the summer and it actually really helped having a focus. Didn't really eat enough though so kept getting sudden onset's of nausea and had to rush to find something to eat without giving away the pregnancy. About ready to zonk out now though!

OP posts:
purplestar9 · 03/09/2018 20:21

I'm finding I need to eat more often but small amounts. I was waiting for tea to cook last night and started feeling sick because of the hunger! And I'm waking in the night hungry too so I'm trying to eat right before going to bed! I am very lucky to not have nausea, I'm planning on keeping it that way!

MigMog · 03/09/2018 21:36

with you all on the hunger. I've been finding the same. Little amounts but every couple of hours. Had the I'm about to be sick because I'm so hungry thing the other day. My OH ran so fast with a slice of bread. Can't wait for this icky, bloaty, hungry, achy bit to pass for a bit.

Chivari · 04/09/2018 11:38

No weird cravings yet @AlinaHC although I am wanting all the carbs!!

@MigMog I agree with you. Can't wait for it to be over.

I now also have a cold to add to the mix. Usually I am downing Night Nurse and sudafed but can't take either 😫 I spoke to a pharmacist yesterday and he basically said nothing but paracetamol! And I need to be careful about taking that for a prolonged period too.....

CrystalBlaze · 04/09/2018 17:09

My god, is anyone else completely wiped out? I get to 2pm and could fall asleep at my desk every day.

Also been ravenously hungry today and headachey.

Can't wait till you allegedly start to feel less tired after 12 weeks. Urgh.

How is everyone else doing?

Chivari · 04/09/2018 17:47

Yes me too @CrystalBlaze and have been like that for about 3 weeks. 2pm is definitely the 'hitting the wall' time. After that I'm good for nothing. How are you otherwise?

Also, had anyone else weighed themselves? I did earlier and I've put on 2kg!? (4lb). I am now 7.5 weeks 🤦🏽‍♀️ is this too much? I have had to eat more snacks recently because of nausea but have only been eating water biscuits at 20kcal each...

donna474 · 04/09/2018 18:54

I've only been back at work for two days and by the time I'm home I'm counting down the hours until bed time.
Really feeling flabby today too, eating lots of carbs and starchy foods which I normally avoid so I'm feeling fat 😫

OP posts:
Chivari · 04/09/2018 20:36

Have you weighed yourself yet @donna474 ?

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 04/09/2018 21:07

I feel very flabby and my diet has been Terrible
