Hi all, so I've only just found out I'm pregnant! 3.5 weeks so still early on but looking for others in the same stages as me. Marginally terrified, apprehensive and anxious but majorly excited for my journey with little bean!

Hi @jellybeann and @Nicbos89 I've also had pain in my ribs and back. Often when I breath in. Read up and it's normal, it's basically all your muscles relaxing and the change in hormones

donna474 · 25/08/2018 09:44

@Laney79 I'm from Shrewsbury and I'm 5+3 today. Your symptoms sound spot on to mine too, I've also been experiencing a bit of nausea but it's ok today so we're off to Barmouth for the day.

@donna474 enjoy Barmouth! Hope the nausea stays away! X

Proper booking appointment on the 4th of September (my first day back at work coincedentally!) can’t decide when to tell my headteacher. She’ll be great about it I know but I’m signed up to mentor a student all year and this throws a spanner in the works. Helppp! I’m nervous 😂

Vegemiteee · 25/08/2018 11:14

Totally wiped out! All I want to do is sleep after one day at work! I don't feel like I'm looking after myself properly, when I'm on shift I forget to take my vitamins and don't drink well at all.
Got to wait a whole 6 weeks til my scan, I'll be 13+2 - I just want to know baby is ok! My midwife appointment isn't for another 3 weeks, still doesn't feel real yet other than the huge bloating and constant napping!

Glitzy07 · 25/08/2018 11:52

Hi all omg so pleased I found this thread. I've just turned 31, cycle 1, and found out on the 12.08 we're having a baby! So excited and nervous. I'm now 7 weeks. It was planned but not really told anyone yet as wanted to have a scan etc see the midwife. Our 1st scan is at the 12 wks Mark but I've not had an app date to see the midwife yet which I heard should be first and also to test you on other things before the 10 wk mark. I chased this up yesterday still waiting a reply. How does everyone get earlier scans ? Do I just ring up and request it? Ive been feeling so exhausted on another level the last 3 weeks and all i want to do is sleep but as i work from 8 til 4.30 its very hard to do that. Also since a week ago I've been waking about feeling sick. I ordered a load of morning sickness remedies but they don't seem to be helping. The only thing I haven't ordered are those wrist bands are they any good??

Congrats everyone and looking forward to hearing everyone's stories on this journey xxx

Melrose86 · 25/08/2018 13:17

Mrs Bonnie I'm a teacher too. I told my headteacher as soon as we were back at work as my booking in appointment was the second day back and meant I didn't have to come up with another reason to be off x

Kez99xo · 25/08/2018 13:23

Hi im due in april aswell. Do yo uall go by lmp or when you ovulated? I took a clear blue which said im 2-3 which means im 4-5 but going but going by lmp i would be 7 weeks today , i took a clear blue on tuesday x

Glitzy07 · 25/08/2018 14:03

Hi @kez99xo it would be from the 1st day of your last period. So mine was Friday 6th July so you count back from then. Xx

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 25/08/2018 17:14

Glitzy unless you’ve had bleeding or previous miscarriages they won’t scan you early, my last pregnancy my scan wasn’t until 13.5 weeks! They are just v busy. I couldn’t wait and paid and had a private scan at 10 weeks because I’d been signed off sick and I wanted to be able to tell work why I’d been off.

Chivari · 25/08/2018 20:29

Hi @Glitzy07 I have booked in privately for an early scan. Costs about £70

Laney79 · 25/08/2018 22:03

@Glitzy07 I paid for my first scan with my last pregnancy - was £55. Sadly that's when we discovered there was a problem -should've been 9 weeks but bean measured 5. X

Glitzy07 · 25/08/2018 22:11

Hi @sheratheallpowerful @Chicago @laney79 thanks for the info. That's very useful to know. I did wonder how you get earlier scans as would love one but will try to wait. I guess we're lucky it's dead on 12 weeks for us. Just want to know everything's ok. How about at the 1st midwife app before the scan do they do anything there to check baby is ok? Thanks all. @laney79 is everything ok now with baby? Hope so xx

Laney79 · 25/08/2018 22:34

@Glitzy07 I hope so. Only 5+2, that's around the time my little bean stopped growing so I'm anxious but ok. Still getting symptoms so trying to stay positive. X

Llondbol · 26/08/2018 05:06

Hi everyone 👋 Can I join? I'm 33, had a MMC in January after 10 months TTC for our first baby, and due date is approaching (1 Sep) 😢 It took 7 months this time and we found out on holiday at 10dpo and Clearblue read 2-3 weeks (the first time we were 18dpo and read 1-2 weeks, so hoping that's a good sign this time?). I'm 5+3 today, due 26 April, and trying to be excited and keep the anxiety at bay, but it is hard. Symptoms this time are much more subtle which does cause a lot of anxiety (tiredness, infrequent light cramps). We're going to book an early, private scan for week 8 just to put our minds at ease... How is everyone else doing? X

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 26/08/2018 10:24

Welcome Llondbol
I’m 6 weeks today, I’m going to book an early scan, around week 7-8 for peace of mind and so I can just tell people already.
Fingers crossed for everyone this early part is tough, I just have intermittent nausea, am not really feeling that tired yet, but my boobs have definitely grown, it’s noticable because I’m normally fairly flat chested Grin

SheRaTheAllPowerful · 26/08/2018 10:33

There is a running thread in antenatal too, pop over

Gupster · 26/08/2018 11:54

Good morning ladies I am now 7+1 and the morning sickness is horrendous, been feeling queasy for about 2 weeks but only a couple of occasions of vomiting, but the last couple of days I have been vomiting alot and feel constantly sick, I'm hoping this will pass soon as it's wiping me out.
We are going to tell a couple of people at this stage as we had an early scan at 5+6 and all was good, symptoms have been very strong so hopefully everything is good.
Sending you all positive vibes and hope you all feel better xx

Nicbos89 · 26/08/2018 12:52

Afternoon all
Is anybody experiencing spotting?
I'm 6+4 and over the last 2/3 days I've had it but only when I wipe.
I'm assuming it's all normal??

CrystalBlaze · 26/08/2018 14:11

Seems completely normal from what I've read @Nicbos so try not to worry too much. Are you planning on having an early scan?

NewSparkle · 26/08/2018 15:30

Delighted to be joining you ladies :) have my dr apt to confirm tomorrow so quite excited. I’ve very few symptoms only a strange stretchy feeling in my lower tummy. Quite tired but I’ve always loved my sleep so not sure if I’m just being extra lazy or an actual symptom :)

Nicbos89 · 26/08/2018 15:51

@CrystalBlaze thanks Smile I've got my midwife appt on 7th sep. will mention it to her too!
I did want one but I feel like I'm being a bit dramatic...and should just wait. How far gone are you? Are you having an early scan?x

Unicorn234 · 27/08/2018 11:42

Hi ladies haven't posted in a while, how are you all feeling? Noticing anymore changes in your body?
I'm 7w3 and I've woke up this morning with massive nipples sorry if TMI but I just can't believe it 😂 also was reading the sun on my phone and was reading the big brother article and it said 'gabby Allen eats own vomit' normally that wouldn't really bother me, however this morning I couldn't stop gagging so I wonder if this is going to be my nausea/morning sickness kicking in 😁

Anyway hope your all having a lovely bank holiday 😘

Chivari · 27/08/2018 13:46

Hey everyone! Morning sickness has officially arrived 🤢 not too bad, just spend most of the middle of the day until early evening feeling nauseous and dizzy!

Creds1980 · 27/08/2018 14:34

Hi all, new to Mumsnet but I literally have no one to talk to! I went for an early scan today. My periods are a bit irregular, not massively tbh just 27 days, 24days, 28 days, 29 etc etc.
Anyhow at the early scan they couldn’t see anything, she said they can see the gestation sac which just looked like a black hole but normally would see a flutter or heartbeat in there. She said I’m roughly 6w 1 days given the measurements although from my periods I guessed at 7weeks.
I’ve made the error of googling her notes she gave me particularly PUL which I know know is pregnancy of unknown location. This has FREAKED ME OUT. It does say three possibly scenarios, 1) ectopic but she seemed quite reassured there was no ‘outside pregnancy’, 2) miscarriage but I haven’t bled since my last period and 3) it was just done too early. I’m hoping that’s the case but she didn’t particularly convince me. When I asked her to be honest with me, well she wasn’t reassuring at all and just kept saying she’d expect to see this flutter etc and go to the doctor to arrange another scan and some more blood tests etc etc.
This has honestly thrown me sideways. Anyone had this which ended positively??
