Hi everyone,
38+3 today and feel like keek!
Reflux (now non-acidic due to omeprazole, but still woeful nonetheless! )up the past 2 nights vomiting its been that bad. Throat is raw, back has started to hurt (no back pain at all really the whole way through), ALOT of soft bms since yesterday, feel a bit like im getting a cold, braxton hicks have increased and are bordering on slightly painful this morning, and i also feel queasy. All in all i feel like a dogs dinner lol.
Anyone else almost at the end and feeling similar?
Ive convinced myself im going to go early. Though thats maybe me being hopeful and fed up of waiting lol
This is my third baby and she was breech up til this week and obstetrician told me on tuesday her heads engaged.
How absolutely soul destroying is the end of pregnancy, every day feels like a week lol

I could have written this! I'm 38+4 with baby number one. Every day is going so slowly, not forgetting the constant 'any news yet?' messages Smile

I'm waddling around, acid reflux is keeping me up all night and big BHs! Midwife said baby was well engaged on Thursday.

I guess it's just a waiting game now?

All the best!

ThreeAfter30 · 12/05/2018 11:55

Cat its awful isnt it lol. Every twinge youre like 'oooh is this the start!'. I do think my body is starting to clear out though in preparation which is why i feel like shit.
Wont be long til its over for both of us, though end of pregnancy really makes you realise how little patience you have lol
Good luck! I hope youre not waiting for too long. I dread the thought of going overdue, my first baby was nearly a week early and my second was 3 days late. Cant remember feeling this shit the last time though i defo did with my first

Haha! Yep! Everything leaves me hoping that it's the beginning, yet it always dies down!

I haven't got a clue at all what to expect. I'm just hoping that it'll be soon. My next midwife appt is on the 24th, she said that she'll do a sweep?! Hoping that baby can be bothered to come out before then!! Smile

I'm so bored just waiting! I'm always looking out for this "show" to make an appearance 😴

Girlwiththearabstrap · 12/05/2018 12:23

I'm 2 days late. Physically feeling fantastic, which is extremely lucky. I've been to the gym this week and everything. Mentally though... I'm so impatient. Had my first dc at 34+5 so this is all new territory! I spent so long convinced I'd be early I'm just surprised to be post dates already!

FranticallyPeaceful · 12/05/2018 12:32

I’ve felt rubbish for about a week, but I woke up this morning and I’ve gone on a crazy tidy spree and feel pretty good. I’m 38+3

Cat12321 · 12/05/2018 12:42

@Girlwiththearabstrap you've been to the gym? That's incredible! I can barely walk 10 minutes without feeling really heavy in my pelvis!

Stretch marks on stomach have been SO itchy too! Anyone else have this?

Girlwiththearabstrap · 12/05/2018 13:07

I did body pump on my due date! I've slowed down a fair bit though. I've tried to keep active as my consultant said it can keep your bp low. And it's helped avoid any aches and pains I think. I've had an itchy bump too, especially where my belly button piercing was.

ThreeAfter30 · 12/05/2018 15:23

@Girlwiththearabstrap holy crap go you! I struggle getting up the stairs never mind even look at a gym. Thatll be super for you in labour though!

@FranticallyPeaceful my tidy spree has been and gone, im far to sore and tired now to worry about anything else. House is completed sorted for baby coming, i even wrote out my list of instructions/contact numbers this morning for my stepmum who will organise my kids school runs/childcare etc for me when i go into labour. I even ironed my going home from hospital clothes this morning and hung them up where dp can find them easily lol

@Cat12321 i havnt had an itchy belly this time around, i did last times though.
Im booked in for a sweep on 22nd but really hoping i dont need to go to that appointment lol

Yeah I'm not having the best day! I'm 38+5 and felt slight reduced movements so I went to the hospital this morning and was monitored for 30 mins.. They said everything is fine but also offered a sweep or an induction! (didn't agree to either yet)

They separately talked about how my platelets have dropped to 107 (they have been checking them every 4 weeks and watching them drop from 160!!). So if they go below 100 I can't use the birth centre or pool as I would be high risk of bleeding a lot 😞

So now that I know I probably won't be able to go to the birth centre anyway I'm just unsure what to do! I've returned home feeling a bit lost! They said the sweep would probably not work as my cervix is likely very tight. They didn't advice anything.. They just gave me options.

I'm just praying to all the gods that I go into labour over the weekend! I think I'll just keep track of her movements today and tomorrow morning and if I'm still uneasy I'll consider an induction...

ThreeAfter30 · 13/05/2018 07:53

Aww cosmoa hope youre ok! Have you made a decision about what youre gonna do? Sorry if this is a stupid question but why are your platelets low? You must be really disappointed about the birthing pool but please dont let it ruin your experience for you. With baby no.2 i wasnt allowed to move from the bed but i still had an amazing birth. Big hugs, hope youre feeling better today

Also 38 weeks and thoroughly sick of it - constant desperation for a wee, cannot walk without feeling i am being stabbed in the bladder, my back is agony, awful lower abdominal cramps... fingers crossed none of us go overdue!

Hope the movements improve @cosmoa, best of luck!

ThreeAfter30 · 13/05/2018 08:24

@Caspiana yip i feel you! The end is miserable! Ive woke up this morning feeling like ive been hit by a bus- fuzzy feeling head, stuffy nose, whole body feels achy, scratchy throat, sneezing- what a great time to catch a cold😏 on top of the increasing BH and sore back im feeling very sorry for myself lol. I just want my baby, im done in lol

I'm 38+4 today and can totally relate!!

Acid reflux is taking over, I'm so tired and ready for this baby to come out.. last night I woke up crying because my back was so bad, can't get comfortable in bed anymore..

Everyday I keep thinking is today the day, but nothing..! Hoping I'm not overdue :(

@cosmoa hope everything's okay! I've got my fingers crossed that you go into labour naturally..

Good luck ladies x

readysetcake · 15/05/2018 07:59

39+1 and totally fed up now. No signs at all. Feel like I’ve been pregnant forever and will be pregnant forever more. Really doesn’t feel like I will ever have this baby in my arms. Not helped by nct friend who gave birth yesterday even though she was due a week behind me.
My Toddler is watching tv again and I haven’t the energy to do anything but scroll MN and feel miserable about my heartburn (cue feeling like a bad mum), which has ramped up despite medication.
hope you go imminently @cosmoa. Sending labour inducing thoughts to all of us!

Cat12321 · 15/05/2018 11:25

Completely agree @readysetcake I'm 39w exactly and I am so so done

I feel constantly out of breath and so sore! I also feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever. My OH is trying to be supportive by saying 'it'll be over soon' but it's not really helping haha. I'm jealous of him going to work when I can't even walk up the stairs properly Smile

Wishing you a speedy labour! Thanks

Misssmoo · 15/05/2018 11:33

39+5 today and off for a sweep hope it works. I feel very good today after utter crap for the last week. Good luck ladies xx

Cosmoa · 15/05/2018 12:28

@ThreeAfter30 thank you!!

Not sure why they are low.. I've just been told it happens to some women during pregnancy and then they go back to normal!

Had a follow up scan today and decided to go for an induction since its likely I can't use the birth centre anyway! But I feel like I have some control over the situation now. And my platelets have gone back up to 116 so that's good Smile I think if I left myself to go into spontaneous labour I'd be worrying about my platelets dropping again!

I've read lots of positive induction stories so I'm just keeping them in mind and I'll take everything as it comes. Feeling brave Grin

How are you feeling now? Very fed up I bet... I know what you mean about feeling like you'll be pregnant forever. I still can't actually believe I'm going to have a baby!

Cosmoa · 15/05/2018 12:30

And thank you to the other lovely ladies on this thread Grin

I will be sure to update when I can! Wishing you all the best Smile Flowers

ThreeAfter30 · 15/05/2018 13:15

@Cosmoa thats great news that theyve went back up and you defo sound like youre a lot calmer about it all now. When are they taking you in for induction? Hope it all goes well for youFlowers

Im very much the same, still feeling crap. Im just so restless now, i want it to be over. Throats getting sorer by the day but paracetamol and regular cups of hot water with honey, lemon&cloves seems to be helping. BHs are increasing and ive been up since 4am this morning as my back was too sore to sleep. Plus ive been feeling nauseous. Tormenting myself with the 'is today the day' thoughts lol

Ladies as much as its crap all this waiting and uncomfortableness, im a tiny bit glad you all understand where im coming from. I sound like a right moany bitch in the house im sure im doing dps head in. Cant be helped eh lol

40+5. Beginning to feel like I'll be pregnant forever! Physically still very lucky and not in any pain, but mentally finding it all quite exhausting. I've had my 3 year old at home which has at least kept me busy.

Cosmoa · 17/05/2018 02:28

Okay so this may seem like a negative birth story to some but I can honestly say I've had a great positive birth!

So I went for the induction! They started me in the antenatal ward and reckoned it would take 30 hours for the pessary to work but it's started giving me period cramps after 20 mins! They put the pessary in at 4pm on the 15th..

My waters and mucus plug went at about 4:30am and by then I had started getting mild contractions with pains in my lower back mostly.

Then the contractions built up slowly bit by bit throughout out the morning after I was moved to the labour ward and I was coping fine on gas and air. But unfortunately my cervix only dialled 1cm at the first check and then the next check was 2-3 hours later. So they put me on the drip and that's when things got a little crazy! I was having major contractions but the worst part was they were just making me want to push and I couldn't control the urge without short quick breaths but it started to get impossible. This went on for a few hours and I became desperate for an epidural but they had to check my bloods as I had a temp and had picked up a mild infection since going into labour.

Luckily the m doc could see how much I was struggling and agreed to let me have one after discussing the risks.

Then after a few more hours and some lovely rest I had another check up and they said as baby was back to back this was causing my intense pain but I had only reached 5cm after a looong day and they offered a cesarean. I just really wanted my baby to arrive safety so I immediately said yes! Just do what you need to do!

I amazed myself at how calm I managed to stay throughout the day. You really do just need tk avoid adrenaline and take each thing as it comes! I had also been really sick all day and had injections for that and a drip to keep my fluids up!

Our beautiful baby girl arrived at 9:35pm earlier on the May 16th. Cesarean was absolutely fine and I felt like I was in control as it was offered and didn't feel like an emergency. However they did say I wouldn't have been able to push her out anyway as she was 8lbs and in an awkward position! So I'm absolutely made up as even though it wasn't straightforward... Everything worked out perfectly in the end!

Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to share my story as it may have seemed stressful but I was able to make it a positive birth story in the end Smile

Cosmoa · 17/05/2018 02:41

And here she is! We named her Eska Soraya and she is so perfect 😁❤ she's suxh a good baby and very quiet and content 😊
