Anyone else had a positive test recently and due in January 2019? Natural cycles says I'm due 3rd Jan 😊 would be lovely to hear others in the same boat!

Currently 4+2 so really early days still.

Congratulations!! I took a test today (positive!!!!!) and think I am due 2nd Jan. Such early days and can't actually believe it - am going to take another test before I go to bed as line was quite faint this morning.....

Are you planning to tell anyone yet (close family I mean) or wait till 12 weeks?

I took a pregnancy these couple of days, think I’m about four weeks, but I also had a miscarriage six weeks ago, so my dating is probably dodgy! But I did an ovulation calculation and should be end of December!?

I’m not planning to tell our family till I pass the point of when I had miscarried, which was at seven weeks. I have yet to tell my husband as he is away for work!

How about you guys?

Firstly, congratulations to everyone! I found out on Wednesday that I'm pregnant and my due date is 1st January. Eek! So far have only told my husband and mum.

How are you all feeling? Now the initial shock has worn off I'm feeling a bit nervous and emotional. Have started feeling a bit queasy and tired yesterday and today but not sure if that's pregnancy symptoms or from just generally being a bit emotionally shell shocked! I'm not panicking about the whole life changing thing yet, more about how ill it sounds like I might feel for the next 8 or so weeks. I hate feeling sick and feel very sorry for myself when I feel ill so I'm worried how I'll cope at work.

But also very excited obviously! 😀

Hello everyone, very excited to join this group. It was my little safe haven with our first baby. Thinking I’m 5+3, appointment booked 14 May with my gynécologue. Congratulations all!

@MathildaF I've just told my mum so far (and husband obv hahah)

Had a bit of a scare last night because some light cramping I'd had for a few days got worse. Did some reading and figured out it could be a UTI (it's in my bladder area) so have been to hospital for the out of hours GP this morning. They confirmed it is a UTI and have given me some pregnancy safe antibiotics. Weird because I didn't have any burning when I wee or anything but apparently they are really common in early pregnancy.

I'm a bit nervous because having a UTI this early can cause miscarriage but I'm hoping I caught it early enough. I don't have a fever or anything, just this crampy twingey type pain in bladder area.

Ahhh stressful times already! 😞

Probably not so reassuring coming from me but last time I had UTI as well but my sonographer said it’s a great sign because usually pregnant women have it. So I’m guessing if it’s managed well, you should be okay! Also same as you, did not have any burning sensation when I peed! My doctor told me to wait till next week and take another pregnancy test (though explained to her that for my previous it was already negative - guess she just wants to make sure!) and then Call the midwife. From everything that I have read though, it’s such a long wait isn’t it.

Hi all! I'd love to join. I was worried there was nobody out there yet... I started a January 2019 board in the antenatal pages but nobody has replied. I know it's such early days.

I got the faintest positive on Thursday at 10dpo and it's got darker over the past two days so it's finally settling in that I'm pregnant. I believe I'm due 6th January.

Hadn't told anyone yet except DH and I'm hoping to leave it as long as possible before telling anyone. Not sure how that'd go though as I feel like I've had symptoms for a week and no doubt will be the sort of person to struggle with symptoms. I travel extensively for work so am not sure how that's going to go, especially if I'm sick. I will have to see. How's everyone else feeling?

Hi, I’m in under a name change. I’m 4+5 and you’re the first people I’ve told.

I haven’t even told DH, it could be the ending of our marriage. So I could really do with a thread like this for support.

Also just to add to the drama, I was pregnant this time last year with the exact same due date, 1st January.

I had the 12 week scan and everything was wonderful but 2 weeks later the baby’s heart stopped beating and I ended up having a late MMC.

I can’t believe I have the same due date. We weren’t even TTC, quite the opposite, DH is booked to get the snip.

I have told my husband and the girls I work with as I am a nursery nurse and they need to know if I'm not well and not helping them!
Does anyone understand the 2 weeks that they add on? Do I still do this if I know my ovulation date?

You don’t add time on, you just count from the first day of your last period.
Do you know what date that is?

@SecretStash so sorry to hear you are in a tricky situation with your pregnancy and telling your DH. Have you thought about how you'll go about this?
So sorry to hear about your MC too. That must have been awful with it being so late on

@aaaarti there are tonnes of websites that calculate it for you. Try the NHS one. You just need to know the first day of your last period.

Hello, I would like to join please!

I am at 5 weeks today. We found out last weekend, but so far haven't told anyone.

I would like my parents to be the first to know, and since I am visiting their city in a couple of weeks, am waiting to tell them in person.

I have got an appointment booked with the GP for when I am back, at just over 8 weeks.

I don't think I have any symptoms yet, except for a fuzzy chin . Is that a symptom?

Oh gosh @SecretStash that sounds so hard- I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage and that you feel this could cause problems in your marriage 😞.

Are you sure there isn't a chance your husband could be happy? How long do you think you'll wait to tell him?

Are you still able to feel happy about the pregnancy for yourself or are you a bit miserable generally? Must be so hard with all the raging hormones - I am crying at everything and nothing is wrong! 😞

@secretstash sorry to hear about your miscarriage, that must have been so hard. Maybe you just need to tell dh and see what happens? Often the not knowing is far more stressful, at least if you tell him then you will know where you stand. We will all be here for you 😊

He absolutely will hit the roof. He did last time. We were stupid last time and it ended in pregnancy. This time contraception was used but not 100% correctly, I thought it would be ok because I was on the last day of my period and was still bleeding that morning. Over a week before ovulation (painfully large cyst on my ovary left over from my last failed pregnancy, which means ovulation has been agonising), so it didn’t even cross my mind tbh. It also means I’ve taken medication that can be seriously harmful to a fetus, I was very very exposed to slapped cheek, I’ve been drinking a lot, and generally not been looking after myself at all.
DH will hit the roof when he finds out.

I’m currently burying my head in the sand about the whole thing.

I swing between the feeling of elation that I’m pregnant and how the kids will be over the moon (they were painfully upset when we lost the baby), and absolutely terrified that DH will blame me (understandably, contraception was my domain that night) and leave. Or stay with me but without me if you see what I mean.

I’m tentatively joining you, I’m due AF tomorrow and have been getting faint positives since yesterday. According to Glow I’ll be 4wks tomorrow and due 6/1/19.

I think I'm going to need you guys. Very unplanned DC3, used protection which came off at precisely the wrong moment so I then took the morning after pill within 12 hours to be sure! Went on hen today and as due on something told me to test just in case and when the line came up, I absolutely couldn't believe it! DH thought I was joking and was just like 'how'?! He's beyond supportive but we are both in shock and I left the house 10 mins later so we've not even talked properly! He's just sent me shocked GIFs all day!! DS is 5, DD is 2.5. We had zero plans for a third, finished BF just 6 months ago and only just got my figure and life to some extent back. Money is tight, the house too small and I'm a bit gutted to be honest of what events planned this year that I now I'll miss out on-all very silly and selfish but it's how I'm feeling. I know I'll all work out but seriously in shock right now!! Congratulations everyone else especially the first timers. My first MN pregnancy group are still part of my life, 100 members all on Facebook, one now one of my best friends and we have regularly meet ups!

Hi @pastaforbreakfast, hope you’re ok? My third was a very similar scenario (although dc 2 was 8months old) it was a really big shock!

@EverythingNow I'll be honest, my head is in the shed, it's all such a shock and not even had a proper conversation with DH, hopefully once kids asleep but then my mum is staying. I've not fully accepted it yet, I hate myself for not being over the moon and so excited as I was for my first two, so that guilt isn't helping. We will make it work but then I didn't think having a child would be just 'getting on with it', I'm sure this mindset will change as they grow and feel them inside. But nervous of the sickness to come, heart burn, peeing all night...I'll leave it there for the first timers-ha and worried about having a third who's bigger, had the first two in water, just gas, DS-7lbs10, DD-9lbs13!! What if this one is bigger, dont think it'll be just gas then!!!!! DS tonight was asking if he could have bunk beds and share with DD, it's like he knew-so that made us giggle and made me feel a bit better-arghhhh, what a rollercoaster year this is going to be!
