Anyone else had a positive test recently and due in January 2019? Natural cycles says I'm due 3rd Jan 😊 would be lovely to hear others in the same boat!

Currently 4+2 so really early days still.

Thanks indreamland I’ve had to take ibuprofen to even be able to lie down. Didn’t want to as it’s not ideal in the first trimester but doctor ok’d it.
Meant to be going to Barcelona on Friday with work and might have to cancel, gutted, but my health comes first.

InDreamland · 06/06/2018 22:00

Awww sexnotgender that's gutting if you have to cancel Barcelona. Fingers crossed you don't have to! Maybe one ibuprofen won't hurt? Makes me tempted to just take an antihistamine and use my nasal spray .....just tomorrow.

sexnotgender · 06/06/2018 22:03

OTC Antihistamines are fine, I’ve been taking cetirezine

cryptonaut · 06/06/2018 22:12

No my friend has never been pregnant, I said to DH that if/when she does experience it then she'd better bloody apologise.

Sorry to hear about the awful vom experience, it goes to show that there are some good people out there though.

To everyone with the spotty skin. My skin has always been awful, had acne ever since puberty and it's never left me. I was on some antibiotics for acne for a couple of years before TTC but the information leaflet said it can cause issues in pregnancy so stopped it earlier this year in preparation. And now it's back with a vengeance!

Miffy201 · 06/06/2018 22:23

So much for the pregnancy glow Smile

Sorry to hear about all the horrible nausea experiences and hope you make it on your trip sexnotgender 🤞

sexnotgender · 06/06/2018 22:24

Thanks Miffy! Been so looking forward to it, really hope I’m up to it.

socksonradiator · 07/06/2018 06:08

Morning ladies, just popping in to check on you all Grin

Sorry to see that some of you are still really suffering with the early symptoms. I still have absolutely nothing which I know is a blessing but is a worry at the same time. We decided to test again with different brand in case the original test had thrown a false positive; it was still a bfp Smile

Hi to the new ladies. Can't wait to get to know you all better as we go along this journey. I'm 43 and due 25th Jan (6+6) with No 7.

I haven't booked in with MW's yet. We've booked a private early scan for next Thursday to check this pregnancy out as the lack of any symptoms at all is worrying. I'm trying to keep as busy and positive as possible till then!

Miffy201 · 07/06/2018 08:13

I hope the scan goes well socksonradiator! I didn't have symptoms either but I had a scan at 6+5 and it was fine. I'm 7+4 now and still don't have much going on apart from slight nausea and bad skin. I'm very tired but I'm not sure if that's a symptom or just I've been really busy, probably a bit of both!

Buttercup53 · 07/06/2018 08:34

I have my first midwife appointment this morning - feel like I’ve woken up on the morning of an exam! Don’t know why I feel nervous, as all week I’ve just been looking forward to it.

I watched a few episodes of One Born Every Minute last night. Figured it might work as exposure therapy. Went to bed afterwards feeling very sick, but gonna stick with it because it did help to normalise it a bit.

LJFM2B · 07/06/2018 09:15

@InDreamland congratulations after such a long road of TTC!! your MN name says it all really you must feel in a dream land!!

I had an early scan yesterday due to reoccurring MC and it was AMAZING saw our little one moving around and strong heart beat. The Dr said he was very happy with what his seen and this is the furthest we have ever got to!!! so happy and finally feeling like i can enjoy it! im 9+5 by measurements - we got to take a photo of the screen which i can not stop staring at :) its so surreal bring on the 12 week scan!!

Sorry to hear of those suffering with bad sickness!! iv heard after 12 weeks everything calms right down in regards to symptoms!! so although it feels like ages away - in the long term its actually just around the corner! :)

Wowthisisreal · 07/06/2018 10:48

@InDreamland yay! A due date buddy! I'm also 7 Weeks tomorrow 😊 currently Home from work with a shocking migraine / headache and morning sickness combo - can't work out!

InDreamland · 07/06/2018 15:50

@LJFM2B I am .....although my hayfever today is absolutely killing me. Off to see pharmacist to see what I can take. Convinced if it wasn't for hayfever today I'd actually feel human. Lovely news about your scan.

@ Wowthisisreal that's so exciting. Congratulations on your pregnancy too. I almost still don't quite believe it. Convinced I'll be one of the unlucky ones ..........musy try stay positive though. Don't think I'll actually believe it's happening until we have a happy baby at home with us at the end of January.

InDreamland · 07/06/2018 15:52

How was your first mw appt @Buttercup53? Hope all went well. I can't wait for mine!

Buttercup53 · 07/06/2018 16:20

@InDreamland it went well, thank you! Was so anxious before I went in, but the midwife was really lovely, put me at ease. Couple of things I need to be mindful of, nothing serious, and at this point she thinks I'll qualify as low-risk and should be able to use the lovely new MLU at my local big hospital.

She's also referring me to a local counselling service which I'm relieved about. I have mental illnesses anyway, but it's gotten so much worse over the last few weeks. Just having someone else say 'you're not daft, and it's ok to get help' felt like it took a huge weight off my shoulders. When is your appointment booked for?

In other news, tried my jeans on for the first time in 3 weeks and they officially don't fit! I've lost a chunk of weight over that amount of time so I thought they might, but I'm fairly sure that my lower tummy bulge is the start of an early bump. Either that or permanently bloated!

InDreamland · 07/06/2018 16:34

@Buttercup53 that all sounds fantastic! All looking good for you.

My booking appt isn't for ages yet, 12 days to go! Can't come soon enough. Currently sitting in GP surgery waiting to be squeezed in without appt as gotten desperate with hideous hayfever, went to pharmacist as advised but they won't help so after bursting into tears in boots decided to take their advice and walk into GP and request to see someone. I'm a wreck.

cryptonaut · 07/06/2018 16:36

@Buttercup53 hear you about the jeans! I lost a load of weight over the past 18 months and my jeans were way too big for me, now they are a perfectly comfortable fit! Pretty sure it's just bloat at this stage for me.

So took the advice from you guys and called to check on my scan appointment, luckily it's booked for after all my scheduled trips for work so didn't have to change it, but gutted that I have to wait over a month for it still, I'll be 12+6 at the scan. It's just sooooo long to wait.

InDreamland · 07/06/2018 16:49

Is anyone else's coccyx hurting? Mine today is very uncomfortable when I sit, very odd.

Buttercup53 · 07/06/2018 17:01

@InDreamland so sorry to hear about your hayfever! You have my sympathies, I can't imagine having all the pregnancy symptoms AND those on top of it. I hope the Dr can help you out, it's so hard going from being able to take anything you want to suddenly being limited to basically nothing.

@cryptonaut glad it's not just me with the jeans! I don't realistically see how it could be a bump, but it does convince me even more that I'm further along than the NHS calculator said. When I have my scan in a few weeks, if they gave me a late December due date I wouldn't be at all surprised.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 07/06/2018 17:03

Had my appointment letter through for my 12 weeks scan today. Just over 3 weeks to go . . . .

Really freaking out about a MMC though. They’re meant to be really rare but have heard so many women having to go through them. I suppose this is a support forum though which may make them seem more common. What an awful thing for someone to have to go through.

Butterflies100 · 07/06/2018 20:28

Eurgh... I have the worst back pain on the right hand side near the bottom. Feel like cack. Had totally forgotten about this but and how rough I felt last time

Englishpetal89 · 07/06/2018 21:28

Midwife booking appointment tomorrow!! What should I be expecting? Do they check on the baby at all?

Iswallowtoothpaste · 07/06/2018 21:33

@Englishpetal they’ll fill in some paperwork with you. Ask questions about your family history for diabetes etc. They’ll take some bloods, weigh you and check your blood pressure. They may also get you to blow into a monitor which checks carbon monoxide levels (smoking, faulty appliances and car exhausts) anything under 4 is fine.

You should get your 12 week scan appointment shortly after your booking in appointment. They don’t check baby as they can’t really. I don’t think Doppler work reliably until 16 weeks.

Buttercup53 · 07/06/2018 21:48

@englishpetal I had mine today, I’d also add that I had a blood test and urine test. They’re really extensive questions on family health, it doesn’t really matter if you don’t know everything but I quizzed my parents and in laws before I went, and had to mention stuff that they told me. Maybe make a list of anything you think you might forget that could be important. Mine also told me thoroughly about what all the ante natal tests do with the various outcomes possible, so you decide then if you want to take the test for Down’s syndrome etc.

InDreamland · 07/06/2018 21:52

Thanks @Buttercup53 I have been prescribed a steriod nasal spray which doc is confident shouldn't harm little bean. Fingers crossed this makes me happier. That would be really exciting if you're further along than first thought.

@Iswallostoothpaste that's exciting to have your scan coming up. I get what you mean about MMC, we can all try stay positive together and remind ourselves it's less likely than likely to happen.

@Butterflies100 hope your back feels better soon. Is there anything you can do for it? Any compress? Or like a massage?

@Englishpetal89 hope you enjoy your appt tomorow! Wish I had mine sooner.

beccii161016 · 08/06/2018 08:28

Hi ladies!
Bit late to the party but I'm 6+6 due around the 26th Jan with my 2nd DC!

Is anyone else relatively symptom less? I can't stop worrying! I'm nauseous on and off but not as severe as my first and a little tired but other than that nothing!

Trying to relax as I haven't had any major indicators that anything is wrong but I bloody hate the first trimester! Bring on the 12 week scan!!
