Anyone else had a positive test recently and due in January 2019? Natural cycles says I'm due 3rd Jan 😊 would be lovely to hear others in the same boat!

Currently 4+2 so really early days still.

Ah hi @peaches1991 how do you feel? I was in a complete state of shock on Sunday when I saw the result! we were set to start trying this month and had prepared ourselves for a long journey ahead! it still hasn't sunk in for me! but we are so excited!

xx

WeeBeasties · 02/05/2018 11:13

@MrsXx4 I'm also really bloated and uncomfortable and have had light period type pains for about 4 days, so you're not alone.

Although my pains are not as noticible today which lines up with when my period pains would normally subside if I were having a period. Is anyone getting morning sickness yet?

MrsXx4 · 02/05/2018 11:17

That is so reassuring to hear @weeBeasties because today I feel like everything has gone away, I am slightly bloated but nowhere near how I was over the weekend and start of the week and I would have been due to come on today / tomorrow.

I haven't had any sickness although have felt waves of nausea but nothing terrible. xx

jellyfish2210 · 02/05/2018 11:31

Due 1/1 and I was really bloated last week but seems to have eased a little this week. And the mild period like pain I had is pretty much gone. As for the nausea, it comes in waves, almost had to ask my DH to pull over on the way to work yesterday. Thankfully haven't actually been sick yet but definitely feeling the nausea!

Have you ladies told anyone your news yet?

WeeBeasties · 02/05/2018 11:50

We haven't told anyone yet but will tell both sets of parents this weekend at 5 weeks. I'd like to wait a bit longer but I'm going on a hen weekend in a couple of weeks so I need to tell the MOH so she can make some alternative arrangements for me, and by extension I'll tell the bride because I don't want her to find out on her hen.

So we're tellong parents early so they are thw first to know, but won't tell the rest of the familiy until 12 weeks hopefully.

LeeCee · 02/05/2018 11:52

We haven't told anyone yet. I'm seeing my parents this weekend and it will be so hard not to tell them but it's still so early and DH is a little superstitious about telling ppl too soon. Going to try to wait until 8ish weeks to tell close family

jellyfish2210 · 02/05/2018 11:59

We live a few hours away from immediate family. We had a planned visit to my parents last weekend so we told them then as they are about to go on holiday and won't see them again till June. Plus I wanted my parents to be the first to find out. We had also planned to visit his parents this weekend and again it seemed like good timing to let them know. Plus we are going out for DH's birthday and they will wonder why I'm not drinking. Only planning to tell my siblings after 8 weeks then everyone else after 12 weeks. So hard to keep it a secret! Whenever I think about it (which is all the time) I have a huge stupid grin on my face!!

MrsXx4 · 02/05/2018 12:07

Have any of you booked in to see your GP? I read online that the first thing to do when you find out is too book a doctors appointment. I have done so and I have an appointment on the 14th but no idea what you really go there for? just to say 'I am pregnant' is that it? do they do blood tests or anything?

We aren't telling anyone until around the 8-10 week mark, my DH is also superstitious but it is going to be so so hard!! x

jellyfish2210 · 02/05/2018 12:41

I phoned my GP surgery and was told that so long as I had a positive home pregnancy test then the next step was to book in to see the midwife. Next appointment I could get that fit in with our schedule is the 21st. I will be 8 weeks then. They never mentioned needing to see the doctor.

jellyfish2210 · 02/05/2018 12:42

Should mention that I'm in Scotland so it might be different if you are elsewhere

MrsXx4 · 02/05/2018 12:44

I have no idea? I did say to the receptionist that I don't actually need a doctor but I have just found out I am pregnant and unsure what to do so was following guidelines I had read online and she booked me in. She said that the GP would organise a midwife appointment for around the 8 week mark.

jellyfish2210 · 02/05/2018 12:57

It might vary depending on each GP surgery?

loopdeelou · 02/05/2018 13:32

I phoned the doctor this morning to get an appointment but they only had one on the 24th. I said it was a little more urgent than that and that I'm pregnant but the receptionist said that's not seen as an urgent issue. I'm on medication for my thyroid though and want to speak to the GP about this so am going to phone tomo and Friday to try and get a more immediate appointment.
The receptionist said that if you didn't need to see the GP then you could refer yourself straight to a midwife.

PermanentlyExhaustedPigeon18 · 02/05/2018 14:03

@jellyfish2210 I have my booking in appt on 21st too and think I will be 8 weeks then as well!
@MrsXx4 this is my second pregnancy (had a mmc in Oct at 12w) this seems to be the norm to deal with the midwives 😊. They will ask you lots and lots of questions about your lifestyle and health and family histories and so some bloods and a urine test and get you booked in for 12w scan.
Be prepared for a long appt I think they can last up to an 1hr

PermanentlyExhaustedPigeon18 · 02/05/2018 14:05

@loopdeelou definitely push if you can, if you have any specific situations then surely you need to have these questions answered ASAP. Maybe ask for a prescription review or
Something for the thyroid stating your pregnant. You'd hope at the least they could
Phone you if they can't see you to st least talk to you.

DareToDream89 · 02/05/2018 14:09

I've got my referral appointment today. My drs is so annoying that I have to go in a see a nurse to confirm my name, dob and date of last period! Why they can't do that over the phone I have no idea x

loopdeelou · 02/05/2018 14:16

@PermanentlyExhaustedPigeon18 I definitely will be pushing! I am considering going to the doctors as soon as they open to demand an appointment as the medication is supposed to be reviewed as soon as you find out you're pregnant. Unfortunately I've been travelling for work this week so haven't been able to get there. So busy! Everything has come at once!

laurs2309 · 02/05/2018 14:56

I saw my gp yesterday but only because of medication I'm on. She said they don't see you, they just pass your details to the midwife and then you wait for them to get in touch at around 8 weeks to arrange the booking appt and 12 week scan.

peaches1991 · 02/05/2018 17:01

@MrsXx4 I don't think I 100% believe it's real at the moment! I haven't had any symptoms and I was so convinced I wasn't pregnant this month. This was our 7th cycle so was starting to worry it wasn't going to happen.

Only my DH knows atm, we're not planning to tell anyone until 12 weeks - I'm paranoid that something might go wrong if we do.

waitingforbubbles · 02/05/2018 17:10

I'm five weeks today. Rang the GP last week and was given a pregnancy pack which had a number to call to self refer to midwife. Called the midwife's office and she made me feel stupid for calling so early which was a bit insensitive, and told me to call back at 6 weeks.

I've ended up having to go to docs a few times now though with this UTI stuff. The results came back and apparently they couldn't detect a UTI just white blood cells. So apparently it could have just been a really mild infection (bladder pain didn't feel mild 🙄). No clue, but at least it wasn't an infection. And it feels nearly better now anyway.

My boobs are SO sore, but I am a bit less bloated this week. No full-on nausea, just occasional waves, usually when I'm hungry. Still got slight cramping.

How is everyone else?

OP posts:
peaches1991 · 02/05/2018 17:48

I rang the docs this morning and she tried to book me in for an hour later! Couldn't go because of work but I'm going tomorrow afternoon. She didn't say anything about the midwife, I'm seeing a GP. Maybe it's different depending on where you live?

loopdeelou · 02/05/2018 17:49

Wow it seems vastly different for different people!

mondler · 02/05/2018 18:21

Hi I'd like to tentatively join Smile

I'm late but the tests I took were very faint and haven't got darker over the last few days. I did a CB digital which confirmed pregnant 1-2 weeks but I think I should be 2-3 so it might mean levels are very low and it might turn into a chemical pregnancy.

But I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed! Had period cramps and a little nausea but no other symptoms... It's weird that I want my boobs to be sore or to feel sick lol.

Good luck all.

Lauraliverpool · 02/05/2018 18:34

Have done an cleablue digital says pregnant 1-2 so conceived around 19th of April. Still got little dull ache low down and only on wiping is there slight brown. I messaged a nurse that I know and she said what I've described does sound like implantation, brown is probably old blood thats left to come down, the aches are things shifting around and my body is still trying to remember what to do at this early stage. Going to keep an eye on things. X
