@EL332 feels my ok, going to phone doctors today to see if I can book an appointment for 6 week scan today :) hopefully they can see me next week or week after :)

EL332 · 26/03/2018 12:56

@Waiting4babyN1 I've just called today following my self referral to see whether they received it and am waiting for a call back now... I don't think I'll have a scan before 12 weeks but am tempted by a private scan at 8 weeks...

Called the gp today got a booking appointment with the midwife next week will be 5+4

ReiofHope · 26/03/2018 14:12

My OH has been really negative since we found out about the pregnancy and he's constantly bringing up the cost of a baby and all of the things we won't be able to do.
It's really getting me down. Sad
I want to look into cloth nappies to lesson the overall spend, anyone else?

EL332 · 26/03/2018 14:14

@Blondcat that's super early compared to what happens here - that's exciting - I can't wait for my first appointment

@ReiofHope my husband and I were talking about cloth nappies and I definitely want to do more research 👍🏼 I'm sorry your husbands being negative... that must be really hard x

@EL332 I’m on the phone now trying to book an appointment and it’s really hard not to get really worked up about the lack of care these receptionists show. All I want to do is book in and have a chat with the doctor about my worries and concerns but apparently that’s proving to be very hard Sad

mollymoo0 · 26/03/2018 15:06

I rang for booking appointment and was told I had to see the doctor first so I've a doctors appointment tomorrow.

I will be paying for private scan st 8 weeks also.

mollymoo0 · 26/03/2018 15:07

@ReiofHope is this your first child. Just give him time to let it sink in he will come around.

ReiofHope · 26/03/2018 15:26

Molly this is our first pregnancy so I suppose I should just try to give it time to sink in.

Blondcat · 26/03/2018 18:35

@el332 I was quite surprised too but not complaining it may be because I am 'older' and therefore higher risk for first pregnancy but who knows maybe just lucky.

EL332 · 26/03/2018 20:19

@mollymoo0 I think I may well end up paying for an 8 week scan too..

I came home to my first scan appointment letter and it's not until the 18th of May which feels like ages away!

EL332 · 26/03/2018 20:20

@Blondcat I would love my scan at 8 weeks, as I've just said in the post below, I may well end up going for an 8 week scan as my 12 week scan feels like such a long time away!

How is everyone feeling? 4+2 today, I’m away at a work trip and I’ve really struggled today with tiredness, cramps and backache.

I’m having some slight brownish discharge, which has been worrying me but google says it’s only concerning if it’s heavy, bright red blood. Has anyone else had weird discharge/spotting?

GreenGooner · 27/03/2018 08:16

Morning! The days are going so slowly!!

How's everyone feeling today? My symptoms appear to have subsided, the cramps have stopped and my boobs aren't as sore. Not sure if this is a bad sign or not but I still haven't managed to refer to the midwife yet Confused

Waiting4babyN1 · 27/03/2018 08:37

@GreenGooner feeling the same as you, but I think it’s normal, it’s like the calm before the storm, but yeah all symptoms have pretty much disappeared and I’m 5+2. A little worried because I too haven’t been referred to the midwife yet :( going to try calling again today

GreenGooner · 27/03/2018 08:56

Hi @AaronPurrSir I've read that too. I'm sure all will be fine, there's a number of reasons for spotting.

@Waiting4babyN1 glad it's just not me. I'm literally sitting on my hands to avoid peeing on anymore sticks. My issue is that I have to go in to the GP's to fill out the referral. My GP surgery is the floor below where I work and I'm not in the office until tomorrow so I've been avoiding going in. I'll get on it tomorrow though.

Feels like these days are dragging and the anxiety is killing me. I'm normally really laid back!!

mollymoo0 · 27/03/2018 09:09

As pp said it is the calm before the storm. Not long before the sickness kicks in for us all, hopefully not to bad.

Although I am so bloated it's uncomfortable

Emma198 · 27/03/2018 09:16

I'm used to time flying by so quickly but when it comes to waiting for a 12 week scan it ddrraagggss. 4+4 for me today. Boobs still a bit sore, keep waking up at around 4am. Feeling sick still. Still peeing on sticks 😁😁

Alanares89 · 27/03/2018 11:13

According an app I am due on the 20th November! It’s my first baby and I want to know now that I am 10000% preggers before I really get all my hopes up, 4 positive tests say I am lol you know that blood test you get tested for privately, anyone know how to go about that? I live in Scotland, dunno if that changes things 🤣 also is baby brain real at 6 weeks? Lol

DanceWaitingForSun · 27/03/2018 13:03

Hey ladies, I got my BFP a week ago and I think I am about six weeks gone. I have bright pink bleeding when I wipe and backache. I'm also starting to get an uncomfortable feeling in my womb/pelvic area - does it sound like the start of a miscarriage?

firstgo1984 · 27/03/2018 13:34

DanceWaitingForSun, not necessarily. Give GP a call and ask for referral to local EPU (early pregnancy unit). Fingers crossed for you all is ok

HungryN · 27/03/2018 15:29

I’ve got my first midwife appointment booked in at 6+3. Do you know if you get another appointment in between that one and the 12 week scan? 6 weeks in between the 2 just feels like the longest time, especially if they don’t measure a heartbeat in the first appointment. I feel like I am going to be a very annoying patient with too many questions and demands!

Has anyone been getting night time sickness? In the last couple of nights I’ve been feeling a bit nauseous right before bed - but I am not sure if I am looking too much into every single symptom and making myself believe I am feeling nauseous!

nic000 · 27/03/2018 17:43

@HungryN Hey love I posted the exact same thing below! My doctors are making me wait 5 weeks to see a midwife barring in mind they havnt even confirmed my pregnancy. They said 3 pees on a stick is enough confirmation. Anyway I'm like you and have a million questions but I guess I have to wait until my appointment. I'm 7 weeks and havnt had any sickness yet but from what I read the days are soon upon me :(

Hope all goes okay for you x

mollymoo0 · 27/03/2018 18:17

I seen my gp today I'm trying to get referred to my local midwife unit which is really small (only 4 beds) but it's all singing and dancing with comfort, pools and private rooms that dp can stay over in with TVs etc.

It had strict criteria though but because my first born was straightforward and not assistance needed I should be ok to go there, thankfully

EL332 · 27/03/2018 19:26

@mollymoo0 that sounds incredible! Where are you based?
