It's so nice to find ladies going through their first pregnancy all at similar stage to compare with - well done for starting thread, OP! X

sammielouise · 24/03/2018 07:57

I'm cramping and spotting brown and can't shift the feeling that it is the start of something bad Sad horrible feeling! Have an early scan at EPU on Tuesday. I need to stay away from google!!!!!!

Emma198 · 24/03/2018 08:02

Stay away from Dr.Google Sammie and indeed from Dr. Mumsnet too! It's probably completely normal. X

mollymoo0 · 24/03/2018 08:09

Anyone feel nauseous yet. I think I'm feeling it this morning. With my first pregnancy I didn't feel any symptoms till I was 7/8 weeks and even then was never sick.

So bit like Shockthat I'm feeling sick now

keepinghopeful · 24/03/2018 08:14

Sammie aw its so hard not to freak out, spotting can be completely normal & hopefully turns to nothing else. Rest up

EL332 · 24/03/2018 08:21

Early waker here too - it's been 5ish in the week and so I thought I'd try and stay up late last night... (made it to 10pm) and was wide awake by 6 - I know that's still 8 hours sleep but on a Saturday morning if I've had a busy week I lay in til at least 9/10!

I started feeling a bit nauseous yesterday...

This morning it's started to rumble too - nothing horrific - but it's there!

@sammielouise I hope you're ok. X

I think that people tend to write about all the worst case scenarios and so every symptom makes us panic!

I was convinced that it would take me years to conceive after hanging around on the conception boards on mumsnet, but since coming over here to the pregnancy boards there are lots of people that are falling pregnant very quickly ❤️

I think people write a lot about when things go wrong and less often about when everything is ok 🙂

Emma198 · 24/03/2018 08:26

I agree @EL332.the conception boards made the whole thing seem hopeless x

sammielouise · 24/03/2018 08:54

@EL332 thank you! I'm ok, it's just such a worrying time isn't it!!!! I'm hoping that as the bleeding is more brown and mostly when I wipe It should be ok... just concerning teamed with cramps! (Although mild) you're right though, people tend to write about the bad things...

HeresMeh · 24/03/2018 09:21

@AaronPurrSir 100% yes about the change to sleep patterns! I've woken up at 5.15am for the last 5 days! Wtf is that about?!

@mollymoo0 hats actually really interesting about the bloat and tummy rumbles after eating.. thx for posting that!

HeresMeh · 24/03/2018 09:22

Have any of you thought about how and when you're going to tell your nearest and dearest?

Emma198 · 24/03/2018 09:26

I've told my mam and dad. Logic being that if the worst was to happen I'd want to go to them anyway. We're away for the weekend with my sister and BIL in six weeks when I'll be ten weeks gone so figured we'd tell them then cos my sister would guess anyway with me not having a drink. We'll probably visit the in laws after 12 week scan to tell them face to face. X

HeresMeh · 24/03/2018 09:35

It's honestly driving me mad not telling my mum, but every time I think 'right I'll just tell her now' the fear of jinxing anything is overwhelming.

DH is worried that if anything goes wrong it would be more people to give bad news to, but I'm with you... it'd be nice to have support.

We compromised on waiting till week 8 after our first midwife appt and early scan appt... 3 lonnnnnng weeks wait to go!

Blondcat · 24/03/2018 09:40

Hi all I'd like to tentatively join as just got my bfp this morning. I am 36 and this is my first so very nervous. AF was due yesterday and been having mild cramps since Monday plus more wind also had my first migraine in over a year on Monday so obviously that says a sign but I assumed if af being due.
Planning to phone docs on Monday.

EL332 · 24/03/2018 09:45

Yep - apart from me and my husband, I've also told my parents - as others have said, if anything went wrong I'd want them to know so that they could support me ❤️

I'm out with friends this evening and will find it hard to keep quiet!

Hi Blondcat - congrats! Mine was due yesterday too but I tested last Monday. I'm too a bag of nerves about something going wrong. But trying to keep positive... also obsessively testing every day! Expensive hobby. X

HungryN · 24/03/2018 09:54

Hello, I thought I would join in!

I am 30, I’ve been with my partner for 8 years and this was our first month of trying so I was a little surprised when I saw the results of my pregnancy test!

This is very very early days for me as I only took the test this morning so am trying to get my head around it still. According to my Natural Cycles app I am due on 1st December.

I’ve not had any symptoms other than my usual period ones. I’ve been waking up every day at 5am but then falling back to sleep soon after.

I am feeling bewildered but excited!

Emma198 · 24/03/2018 12:13

Eee congratulations @HungryN! Very exciting.

I've been feeling sick since last Saturday so 8DPO and lost appetite over last weekend which is why I tested Monday. No other symptoms apart from sporadic cramping. X

EL332 · 24/03/2018 15:05

How soon will you be telling people?

Reasons for and against waiting until 12 weeks?

OP posts:
LJ1218 · 24/03/2018 15:29

Newbie here! Found out I was pregnant Tuesday. Getting all sorts of weird pulling and aching in my stomach. Currently waiting on doc appointment on Monday as it's put me off most food. So having to force myself to eat. Due around start December 😊

Blondcat · 24/03/2018 15:58

I think I will wait until after first appointment so I know a bit more what is due to happen and when before I tell my parents. Maybe some other close family but everyone else is going to be after 12 week scan. I did tell my zumba teacher this morning when I went to class and will tell yoga teacher tomorrow just so they can advise on anything to do /not do etc.

AaronPurrSir · 24/03/2018 16:38

For the next 4 weeks, the only people who will know will be me, DP and the doctor. Going to tell parents, select close friends and possibly work (depending on how sick I am) once I’ve had my 8 week check up, then everyone else after the 12 week scan.

If I, heaven forbid, were to miscarry I’d tell my mum and close friends. But right now I love the fact that me and DP are the only people in the world who know. It’s giving me time to get my head around it before the barrage of advice, questions and warnings come along Grin

LJ1218 · 24/03/2018 16:39

I've told my boyfriend (of 6 years) and my 2 best friends. Won't tell family, work or anyone else till after my 12 week scan.

firstgo1984 · 24/03/2018 17:36

Hello all! Can I join? I've had a BFP for my 2nd baby this week (well on days 10, 11, 12 and 13 post ovulation!).
I think my due date will be 1st or 2nd Dec.

The tiredness and sore boobs are just hitting!

Waiting4babyN1 · 24/03/2018 22:26

Hiya I have a question, I’m new to this so bare with me,

I found out on Monday I was pregnant with one of the electronic tests that said I was 1-2 weeks, now I know doctors go by the date of your last period, which means I’m 5 weeks? How does that make sense? This is my first pregnancy and I’m terrified and desperate to book a doctors appointment to check everything is ok, can any help me by telling me if I’m 1-2 weeks or 5 weeks? Because I’m really confused,

Thank you guys
