Hello

I thought I'd start a new thread for people who have are due late Nov/ early Dec

A bit about me...

I'm 28 have been married nearly 2 years and we were very lucky and managed to fall pregnant first month TTC...

I've self referred on the NHS website and am awaiting my booking in appointment 🙂

What's your story? ❤️

Here's my baby! He was bouncing around while we were watching him 😍. We'll be finding out the sex, I'm convinced it's a boy - guess I've got a 50% chance of being right!

Glad everyone is progressing well. And yay for some close due dates!!!

I read my notes back last night and the silly midwife at the hospital after my scan has recorded my height completely wrong. As in 3 inches shorter than I am. Which means my bmi was recorded wayyyy higher than it should have been. Now I am pissed that it could mess with my care. Another thing to discuss with my community midwife when I see her in a few weeks.

I am team surprise!! I have waited this long, would love to surprise our entire family and friends when they actually meet the baby! ❤️ I am just thankful I am pregnant, have no preference. X

And I don't really understand how the whole scan pic gender guessing works?? How?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

GreenGooner · 24/05/2018 17:02

How lovely @Emma198

I think I'm going hold off on finding out... that may change but for now I'm going with surprise.

I've had to buy maternity clothes too, went to new look and got pretty sorted with jeans and some tops.

Here's mine: I'm thinking boy too but it's obviously just a guess 😂

@GreenGooner I'm heading for New Look! They seem like the best value.

Was weighed today and have barely put on any weight despite my tummy being massive. Was pleased because I thought I'd have piled it on!

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow. I decided a while back that I'm not telling my mum I'm pregnant, it's a long and complicated story but I largely cut contact with her back in November but sent flowers at Christmas and a card for mother's Day and her birthday, which all went unacknowledged, as did my birthday. Last night I dreamt that I went for my 12 week scan and she was sat in the waiting room when I got there Confused

Next stop after the hospital tomorrow will be maternity jeans for sure!

Emma198 · 24/05/2018 20:32

Oh gosh what a strange dream @another! It must be on your mind that you're not telling her. Good luck for tomorrow, I felt anxious rather than excited which I didn't expect!

MouseLove · 24/05/2018 20:37

I ordered a few pairs of jeggings from ASOS at 5am on Wednesday (when I couldn't sleep and saw they had 20% off). 🤣 they were really cheap. Less than £20 each for a pair of ASOS black jeggings over the bump and a pair of blue new look jeggings also over the bump. I also got some basic tshirts quite cheap too.

I've found that asda only have the maternity stuff online. 😩

AnotherOriginalUsername · 24/05/2018 21:50

@Emma198 I feel quite anxious about it too for no reason at all!

Emma198 · 24/05/2018 23:00

@Another my husband was a bit annoyed at me because he just wanted to be excited but I was struggling! It was lovely to see though :) Nearly weed myself again though haha. It said to drink 1.5 pints of water and finish it an hour before hand. No chance!!!

MouseLove · 24/05/2018 23:07

Woah really?? Mine said start to drink 1 pint 1 hour before the scan. Even my private scan at 8 weeks said that too. You should never need to hold that much water for a whole hour!!!! 😳

AnotherOriginalUsername · 25/05/2018 01:37

Mine says empty bladder and drink 500ml (so about a pint) an hour before.

I just so happen to know from previous medical tests that my bladder holds 900ml Hmm

Emma198 · 25/05/2018 05:44

Good luck today @another!

GreenGooner · 25/05/2018 07:09

@AnotherOriginalUsername good luck for the scan today, I drank 750ml before my scan and nearly wet myself 😳 had to go and let some out twice so she could get a decent view. I'm also in a very similar mother situation as well!

Did we do a list of everyone's due dates? Just wondering who's due first? I'm the 28th...

ND348 · 25/05/2018 07:19

I diligently drank my pint of water for my scan o Wednesday and they were 45 minutes late, I could barely walk to the room I was that desperate. The Sonographer commented on quite how full my bladder was! I wouldn't go too crazy drinking too much, I found the scan really uncomfortable as I needed a wee so badly!
@another I was nervous too, that's totally normal, my DH on the other hand was just really excited (he's a glass half full and I'm the opposite lol!)

Emma198 · 25/05/2018 09:31

@Green I couldn't have let a bit out and then stopped! I would have had to do a full wee and start drinking again! @ND that's awful when they know you have a full bladder! We were taken in 15 mins early so I managed to have a wee before our appointment time was even due so I was pleased with that 😁

GreenGooner · 25/05/2018 09:35

Haha @Emma198 it was tough. It took some muscles that I didn't know I had 😂

AnotherOriginalUsername · 25/05/2018 13:20

All is good, took out a bank loan for a photo Shock

New due date is 6/12 and all is well despite an almighty cock up with the appointment!

Aaw lovely @Another. Looks comfy! We asked for one photo yesterday, sonographer gave us two and when we asked midwife how to pay she said not to bother!

GreenGooner · 25/05/2018 13:48

Congratulations @another that's a fab pic 💞

@Emma198 where's the twins thread gone? 😂

HungryN · 25/05/2018 13:59

Hello all, I’ve been a bit quiet here for the past month mostly because I have been feeling so nauseous and thinking about anything pregnancy related seemed to bring the nausea on stronger!

I had a little scare a couple of weeks ago with a bit of bleeding but all is ok and it was incredible seeing my baby wriggling about in the scan. My hospital doesn’t do any print outs at all but I was allowed to take pictures of the screen.

@Green I know! Haha.

@Hungry so glad everything is good. What a great pic xx

Whydotheycallyoured · 25/05/2018 14:30

Long time lurker finally posting properly for the first time. Scan today at 12+1. EDD 6 December. A little bit daunted as this is unplanned but starting to get excited now I've seen this little cutie!

Emma198 · 25/05/2018 14:36

Aw welcome @why! Congratulations xx

Whydotheycallyoured · 25/05/2018 14:39

Thanks @Emma198! Only my parents and best friend know IRL so it's nice to have a place to share my excitement with others in the same boat. Eeeek!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 25/05/2018 14:54

Does anyone else's hospital make you pay to download the scan photos? Mine don't do print outs but upload them to a website and give you a password and it's £10 to download.... But today discovered it's £10 per photo to download!!
