@SiolGhoraidh I'm assuming that babies don't like the cold gel and that makes them kick like that. My friend said that her youngest was kicking throughout her 20 weeks scan for the same reason.

Sushirolls · 06/04/2018 13:46

@niclw Yay for HB & Kick :) Boo for the BT tho :(

@snowy1982 you could well be feeling little one Grin Enjoy seeing him/her on your scan, you too re scan @CJ1990

I think my DD may be worrying a little about her weight :( She is eating when hungry and has a definite bump there, but she says she has only gained 1lb ... I`ve explained that some people gain lots, and some little, and as long as baby is the right size & she is eating well, all is ok :) Also, that the weight may come once she hits 20 weeks - She is 18 weeks tomorrow :)

Hope everyone is well, have a great weekend :) We are finishing swapping bedrooms round, to give my DD & baby more space, I`ve been banished to the dining room downstairs lol

CJ1990 · 06/04/2018 14:33

@snowy1982 it’s tomorrow at 3pm. I’m just tierd of worrying. I’m normally ok at snapping myself out of it but can’t seem to this time so would rather pay the £50 to know what’s what x just getting me down!

snowy1982 · 06/04/2018 14:36

Couldn’t remember if it was today or tomorrow @CJ1990. If it’s what you need to reassure yourself then you should definitely do it Smile

CJ1990 · 06/04/2018 14:48

Thanks @snowy1982 I just can’t get it out of my head. Decided I can’t go another two weeks worrying like this but don’t want to Take up the Midwife’s time :)

niclw · 06/04/2018 14:53

@CJ1990 Enjoy seeing your baby tomorrow for your scan.

Has anyone else started getting a few bits of maternity clothes? My normal jeans became super uncomfortable a couple weeks ago so I've been wearing some I got at Topshop which have been great. I'm starting to feel like my tops are creeping up and need replacing (more boobs than bump at this stage I think!).

I ordered a few tops online because Isabella Oliver was having a sale but I'm not super encouraged by the results! Everything in Topshop looked like a. a tent and b. for a 16 year old...

SeattleKate · 06/04/2018 20:06

@sushirolls I've had the same worries as your DD--I'm 15 + 4 and only just managed to gain 1lb this week, despite eating whatever I could. Is she still suffering from nausea? I'm still finding that the food that appeals to me is very limited and I can't manage more than 2/3 of a portion at a time. Is it totally normally though!

Friendsinhighplaces · 06/04/2018 21:14

@SeattleKate I'm currently halfway through trying on some stuff I ordered from H&M and am generally pleased so far. I've ordered stuff from JoJo Maman Bebe too but need to be careful how much I keep (hopefully I don't like lots of it!) as it's definitely more expensive!

niclw · 06/04/2018 21:35

@SeattleKate I've struggled to find maternity clothes in the shops around here. H&M has a few things but nothing suited me. Tried some bits in JoJo Maman Bebe. The dresses have too much bump space at the minute so will try again in a few weeks but I did buy a tankini for my spa day next week. I'm going to have to order online instead. Thankfully I've not got much of a bump yet however my work clothes won't last much longer in the boob area.

snowy1982 · 07/04/2018 07:32

I haven’t bought much maternity wear, so far I have just bought some clothes in bigger sizes to keep me going, although I did order a couple maternity dresses for work in the next sale.

I am short so am struggling to find maternity wear that won’t need a lot of alterations to make them wearable

DG87 · 07/04/2018 08:07

The maternity stuff on ASOS is great, you should definitely have a look on there. I've bought a few bits and everything fits really nicely. Plus it's affordable and fashionable stuff :) worth a look 👀

snowy1982 · 07/04/2018 08:27

@dg87, I have a wedding coming up in June and have been looking at ASOS maternity dresses, they have some very nice stuff, not just functional but dressy as well

itallhappensforareason · 07/04/2018 08:38

I've got some maternity jeggings from George which are super comfy, think they were only like £10 each too, got a pair of black for work and denim for casual. There is too much bump space at the moment but they are comfy.

Also ordered some leggings, tights and a casual dress from ASOS which I still need to try on. Ordered a nice floral dress from Boohoo in the sale which is nice but again too much bump at the moment.

Got a coat a few sizes bigger from New Look's curve range the other day just to hopefully get me through the spring. It's more of a rain mac type thing but it's quite nice.

I also have a wedding in June and not sure what to do about buying a dress... might wait a few weeks and see what ASOS have in, but I have seen a lovely dress on Seraphine although it's £125. Hopefully I will have a big enough bump by then to fit nicely into a maternity dress!

itallhappensforareason · 07/04/2018 08:42

CJ1990 enjoy your scan today x

CJ1990 · 07/04/2018 09:28

@snowy1982 I’m short too so not looked as I know I will have the same problem! Living in leggings at the moment which seem to be seeing my through so far :)

Thanks @itallhappensforareason :) it’s at 3pm so not too long! Excited but nervous at the same time.

@sushirolls I wouldn’t worry too much :) like you say, people gain weight at different rates. My friend is 4 months ahead of me and has barely put any on! No extra weight anyway, just a nice football sized bump at her front!

Sushirolls · 07/04/2018 10:30

@SeattleKate my DD is a jammy moo and hasn't had any sickness or anything! I hope you're feeling better Smile

@CJ1990 DD is the same, nice bump at the front Smile Enjoy your scan today!

Re close, my DD has been in maternity jeans since 13 weeks and she didn't like the pressure of anything on her tummy. She has a couple of pairs from H&M & she's just in normal tops at the moment Smile

Sushirolls · 07/04/2018 10:31

*clothes - stupid auto correct!

UppityStitch · 07/04/2018 11:09

Hi everyone,

Been AWOL for a while due to too much going on. My Dad lives overseas (9-10 hour flight) and has had a suspected mini stroke, but he's refusing to go for follow up appointments/tests. His wife has now had a mini stroke of her own last week. DS has been in A&E with breathing problems due to tonsillitis complications and I've been generally rough in general. I'm also not sleeping due to worry and being super bunged up.

I'm glad to hear everyone else is doing okay and there's lots of bumps and kicks etc.

UppityStitch · 07/04/2018 11:33

Oops, posted on the wrong September babies thread

itallhappensforareason · 07/04/2018 12:54

I don't know where this has come from but today I have been getting excited about prams and travel systems... 😨😨 whole pregnancy was a complete shock so I've been feeling overwhelmed with it all and have been struggling to get excited. I've been googling prams this morning and fallen in love with the Mamas and Papas Ocarro in sage green 😍 I'm excited that I'm finally feeling excited about something baby related!!! 🙌

Scan went great - found out we’re having a girl!! :)
No idea how I’m not feeling any movement as she was moving around like a bouncy ball?! But anyone worry about not feeling anything like me, chances are your fine!

niclw · 07/04/2018 15:58

Congratulations on your baby girl. Glad everything went well.

CJ1990 · 07/04/2018 16:19
