I keep thinking I'm feeling some kind of movement from my baby but I really don't think I am. I'm only 17 weeks tomorrow and keep going between yes I did feel something and no it's just gas. I'm not expecting to feel anything for definite for the next few weeks though. @CJ1990 I really wouldn't worry yet it's still too early for us

snowy1982 · 02/04/2018 16:27

I’m 17 + 3 and am not feeling anything that I even think could be movement. I am anxious about it sometimes but deep down I know it’s still early

itallhappensforareason · 02/04/2018 19:08

17+4 and also not felt anything yet. Whilst I would like to I know it probably won't happen until 20 weeks and beyond. Have read that with your first pregnancy it's normal to not feel anything at even 24 weeks.

RockinRobinn · 02/04/2018 19:57

@polkadotpixie I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and yes still nauseous every day for most of the day and am on cyclizine from GP still.
Since being on the meds the vomiting has slowed down to once a day but I'm also pretty much on bed rest as if I do too much I am sick so much more. It has gotten slightly better in the last week so also hoping it won't last till the end. It doesn't usually stay as constant nausea for most people. If you're interested have a look on the hyperemesis forum on here for some websites with more info

Sushirolls my DD is due on the 4th, she has now a very obvious bump today and said she had a huge kick from the baby yesterday so it’s all feeling real now.

SunnyRae · 02/04/2018 22:44

Hey everyone. I hope you don't mind me joining in! I'm due 14th September so 16 + 4
Never been on a thread before but would love to hear what's going on with everyone due at the same time 😀

niclw · 03/04/2018 09:58

Is anyone else having trouble sleeping? Up until Friday I've been sleeping really well but then suddenly I'm walking up all the time and really uncomfortable lying on my side. I usually sleep on my back but stopped weeks ago by propping myself up with a pillar and was sleeping fine but not anymore.

PinkyPromise77 · 03/04/2018 14:48

Oh welcome @SunnyRae! Same due date as mine :D How are you feeling?

CJ1990 · 03/04/2018 15:49

@niclw I’ve started to struggle..not even sure why! Just can’t get comfy. Somehow started to wake up early too and not be able to get back to sleep. Hopefully it’s a phase and will get back to normal soon :) I’ve heard a pillow between the knees helps x

SunnyRae · 03/04/2018 17:40

Thanks @pinkypromise77
I'm feeling generally ok thank you, but really tired! I have no problems sleeping so I'm surprised at how tired I'm feeling at this point in the pregnancy. Booked in for Physio with a few back aches but otherwise ok.
How about you? Are you feeling tired or do you have that 2nd trimester burst of energy!

snowy1982 · 04/04/2018 08:00

Having a bit of a panic this morning, not to gross everyone out but my constipation has flared up again and finally managed to go this morning, it was a bit sore going and when I wiped there was blood. My rational side is telling me the blood is from going to toilet but my panicky pregnant side is telling me it’s a bad thing. Should I wait and see if there’s anymore or go get checked out?

niclw · 04/04/2018 09:51

I would guess it's from going to the toilet. Could you ring your midwife?

snowy1982 · 04/04/2018 10:30

No more blood since that time so I am assuming it was just toilet too, if there is even the hint of some more I will be on the phone to MW

claire7930 · 04/04/2018 10:36

snowy1982 I have had that too the last two days - I googled it & apparently it's quite common. I need to call the midwife just to check - waiting for my boss to vacate the office first!

claire7930 · 04/04/2018 10:38

I went to my first pilates class last night since being pregnant, the teacher showed me alternatives for each move I needed to do differently & I feel so much less achy this morning than I have done for weeks. I think she does a Sunday AM class too so I'm hoping this will help me get through with minimal back issues as I've suffered for years with back pain, & was starting to get some aches & pains in my groin too & was worried it was the start of SPD.

missamy94 · 04/04/2018 17:50

Got my 16 week midwife appointment tomorrow, does anyone know if I will hear babies heartbeat? I havnt actually heard it since I was 8 week, although I saw it on the 12 week scan and knew everything was fine, I would like to hear it again!

snowy1982 · 04/04/2018 17:59

@missamy94, I think it depends on what your trusts policy is, some people seem to hear it at 16w and some don’t. I haven’t heard it at all yet, seen it in all scans but in my trust they don’t listen until 25w appointment (so bloody annoying)

CJ1990 · 04/04/2018 18:46

I heard it :) I do think it’s a postcode lottery as to whether they will listen to it or not though. Some worry as t can be difficult to find at this stage.

Had a fall out with the mother today..I found an amazing groupon deal for £55 that included loads of stuff including a heart beat bear and I was going to find out the gender. It was a 3D/4D scan. I told her all excited but she went mad saying these scans are dangerous for baby and sent me a link to an nhs article and everything. I was so excited now I’m too worried / too guilty to go :(

missamy94 · 04/04/2018 19:15

Thanks guys! Hopefully will hear it! My mums coming with me as my OH is working so would love her to hear it!

I don't see how the scan can be dangerous? Surely it's just the same as a scan they do at the hospital and they can do them up to every 2 week if needed, if you want it then go for it!

ichifanny · 04/04/2018 20:20

My midwife said they don’t listen for heartbeat at 16 week appointment as it’s still too early . I’m booked in for 4D gender scan on the 14th I’m too nosy not to find out .

snowy1982 · 05/04/2018 08:28

@CJ1990, if I were you I would go ahead with the scan, I’m not having one myself as I want the sex to be a surprise (and also I find them a little creepy looking personally) but if I wanted to have one I would, if there was a real danger the midwives etc would be warning us off them

snowy1982 · 05/04/2018 08:29

Ok, so what is everyone’s opinion/knowledge on prams and travel systems etc? I am trying to figure out which one I want and am lost, I have no idea which ones are good and whether or not the prices are reasonable. Am currently leaning towards a mamas and papas one but I honestly have no idea why

itallhappensforareason · 05/04/2018 08:39

I also heard baby's heartbeat at 16 weeks, and again the week after with a different midwife. It seems so strange that different areas have different policies, you'd think it would just all be the same under the NHS.

niclw · 05/04/2018 08:50

@snowy1982 I'm glad it's not just me that's confused. I keep looking at them but have no idea. I've seen a few I'm considering a silver cross (in a bundle in mothercare with car seat too) and an icandy in John Lewis. For me one of the big things is whether it will fit in the boot of my car as my car isn't that big. I'd appreciate any advice from others with experience too.

snowy1982 · 05/04/2018 09:03

@niclw I love a silver cross as well but their so expensive. I have plenty of money saved up so technically I can afford whatever one we want, but I don’t want to go mad and am a bargain hunter at heart.

We’re lucky, the boot in my car is quite big (had to be for the dogs) so that isn’t an issue. I am just want to make sure I am getting a good reliable system that baby will be all snug and secure in. I also grappling with Moses basket v’s next to me decision as well. Feeling very confused by it all
