I also think there is something really cute and innocent with baby gros in the early days. There are some absolutely adorable little outfits but nothing beats a baby in a baby gro 😍

This morning I was woken by my smoke alarm going off at 6.15am (no smoke thankfully) but to stop it I had to get out my step ladder and stretch upwards to disconnect from the ceiling. However I feel like I've overstretched my tummy muscles as I can now feel them when just walking. Is it possible to do this? I'm a little worried cos my mum couldn't carry me or brother past 36 weeks after moving furniture and causing damage.

CJ1990 · 22/04/2018 18:45

Hi @niclw I’m not sure to be honest. If in doubt I’d ring midwife though :) just to put your mind at ease. I finnaly plucked the courage to do it last week and was surprised how nice she was about me ringing. :)

snowy1982 · 22/04/2018 19:18

@niclw, I imagine you have just stretched muscles that maybe haven’t been stretched in a while and it’s nothing to worry about, but to put your mind at ease ring your MW.

I started pregnancy yoga last week (never having done yoga before) and I have been feeling the effects of the stretching even though I haven’t been pushing myself too hard

niclw · 22/04/2018 20:17

Thanks @CJ1990 and @snowy1982. I'll text my midwife in the morning.

Thanks @CJ1990 and @snowy1982. I'll text my midwife in the morning.

Does anyone know when to call midwife about movement? I’m getting really upset about not feeling anything still and it’s getting me down. I’m not worried - just frustrated I guess. I thought I’d have an anterior placenta but the scan on Friday showed it is posteria. I’m not over weight (not even sure that’s a thing when it comes to feeling movement anyway) and she’s moving around quite a bit on the scan. I’ve tried everything. My husband spent about half an hour last night rubbing my belly / putting his head on me / telling her to kick mummy and I just burst out crying. I blame hormones for that! But I just feel so upset when I see most people starting to feel something by now. I know it’s silly and I should be patient but I don’t understand how I’m nearly 21 weeks and nothing.
Sorry ladies - just need a vent!

snowy1982 · 23/04/2018 07:40

@CJ1990, you spoke to MW last week about this and you know from scan the baby is ok so please try to relax (I know, it’s much easier said than done). I have read on somewhere (I don’t know if it’s here or on some website) that if you didn’t feel by 24 weeks that’s when you should discuss with MW etc. Baby is still quite small in there and (I also read this on the NHS website) only awake for approx 6 hours a day so it is still so easy to just be missing the times she’s moving.

Ring MW if it will reassure you, she seemed to help last time, but also try your hardest to relax and it will just happen

Squiffy01 · 23/04/2018 07:48

CJ try not to worry. I’m not feeling anything either 20+1, haven’t contacted midwife yet as I know all she will say is it’s normal.
Well and truely have a bump now. Eeek getting real

CJ1990 · 23/04/2018 08:13

Thanks @snowy1982 @squiffy01 - it just helps talking to people on here. Family don’t help by asking me every day and all my friends felt theirs about 18 weeks so look at me odd when I say I haven’t still! I’ll wait until 23 weeks and if nothing then I’ll give her a ring.
yeah I hit 20 weeks and I have just popped! Husband looked at my belly on Saturday and was like where the heck did that come from! Grin😂

missamy94 · 23/04/2018 10:27

Feeling fed up this morning, was in the out of hours GP last night, been given a weeks course of antibiotics for a suspected kidney infection!

itallhappensforareason · 23/04/2018 10:38

20+4 and I still haven't felt movement either - I haven't contacted my midwife about it either as I know it's more than normal. The NHS site says MOST women will start to feel movement between 16 and 24 weeks but even then some women don't feel anything until past 24 weeks. I think it's 28 weeks when they like you to be able to feel a regular pattern of movement developing?

There really is no need to worry @CJ1990 - you've seen and heard that everything is ok x

itallhappensforareason · 23/04/2018 10:40

@niclw hope midwife can put your mind at ease this morning. Sounds like you've just used tummy muscles that maybe haven't been used for a while and they will be a bit sore anyway with the ongoing growing and stretching!

Sushirolls · 23/04/2018 15:19

@CJ1990 My DD is 20+2 and still isn't feeling much. She feels the odd movement, but not a lot. I think it's still early days for a FTM x

I took my DD for her 20 week anomaly scan this morning. I was a bit apprehensive as she found out very late, so hadn't been on folic acid & has hydrocephalus. Little one got the all clear on everything 🎉 such a relief!!

We also found out that I'm going to be a nanny to a grandson 🎉💙🎉💙🎉

He's doubled in weight, size etc in the 5 weeks since her last scan, and he's currently 11oz 😍

I can't wait to meet him!!! 💕💕💕

Hope everyone else is well xo

Sushirolls · 23/04/2018 15:21

I hope the antibiotics kick in soon @missamy94 and that you start to feel better x

I hope your mw can put your mind at ease @niclw xo

itallhappensforareason · 23/04/2018 15:22

Aww congratulations nanny @sushirolls
We have our scan on Wednesday, so excited but also nervous. Really hope that 1) everything is healthy and 2) they can tell us the sex!

CJ1990 · 23/04/2018 15:25

Thanks @Sushirolls and congratulations!! The 20 week scan is very exciting. And nice to know everything has grown as it should. Now they just need to grow and put weight on! :)

CJ1990 · 23/04/2018 15:26

@itallhappensforareason I was exactly the same - excited and nervous. But it’ll be great :) the amount of detail they can see is amazing!

missamy94 · 23/04/2018 15:28

Thank you @Sushirolls no luck so far in feeling better! Congratulations on the good news, I have my scan a week on Wednesday I can't wait to hopefully know everything is ok and to find out the sex!

snowy1982 · 23/04/2018 15:32

Had my scan this afternoon, everything as it should be, all limbs etc accounted for GrinGrin. LO seems to be taking after it’s daddy and looks like it has long legs

EllMae · 23/04/2018 15:35

@sushirolls congratulations!!!

My scan is on the 3rd May so we are very excited but just want it to come around quick. It feels so strange to say i'm nearly 19 weeks but still can't feel anything? I have been a little worried but looks like there at a lot of people going through the same thing. Will just be relieved to see baby and check everything is okay on the scan xx

Cb90 · 23/04/2018 18:00

Sorry if this is a silly question but what do they check on the 20 week scan? Mine isn't until the 17th May when I'll be 22 weeks. Do they do any more blood tests?

niclw · 23/04/2018 18:10

@snowy1982 and*@snowy1982* Congratulations on the scans. I'm really looking forward to mine tomorrow but also a bit apprehensive. Just want everything to be ok. Got to get through the entire day first though.

I text my midwife and she said I'd probably just pulled a muscle and it should clear up however if it doesn't then to go to doctor in a few days.

snowy1982 · 23/04/2018 18:48

@cb90, I didn’t have any blood tests today, it was all scan.

@niclw, I hope tomorrow goes quickly for you and you scan comes round in no time

niclw · 23/04/2018 18:54

@snowy1982 Thanks. How long were you in for your scan today?
