Has anybody looked at feeding bottles? I am looking at the MAM self sterilising bottles but just can't make my mind up.....

ThorsMistress · 23/04/2018 20:31

Hi all

DC2 due September 23rd Smile

Been feeling a lot of flutters this evening which is lovely if not weird! Don’t remember this with DS but that was 6 years ago!

Sushirolls · 23/04/2018 21:20

Thank you @itallhappensforareason xo Good luck for Wednesday! X

Thank you @CJ1990 you too x did they say what weight your DD is? My DGS is 11oz at the moment! Xo

Good luck for Wednesday to you too @missamy94 Smile I hope you feel better soon, must be so painful 😢 xo

Glad to hear all went well with you too, today @snowy1982 Flowers

Thank you @EllMae x good luck for May!! My DD has an anterior placenta, so I envisage we may be visiting the hospital lots in the later stages 🙈😂 x

@Cb90 today, the sonographer thoroughly checked each bit of baby & told us as he went along, whether everything was ok (which is thankfully was!). DGS was being a monkey so after lots of DD wiggling her butt & his still not moving 🙄 we went for a 10 minute walk, and she also got a sandwich & a drink, then we went back in. Thankfully, he had moved, as he needed to see/check his face. He pointed out each bit as he went along. He then told us what DD is having after I asked, as she had asked me to, if he didn't automatically say.

He printed off all the measurements & said what parts he'd checked, whether they were ok etc Where placenta is & info on the cord x

@niclw I hope the pain has subsided and tomorrow comes round quick for you Flowers

DD, her BF and I have been in a mini shopping spree this afternoon/eve ... £70+ later 🙈😱😂 #paupernanny 😂😂

Sushirolls · 23/04/2018 21:21

@sososotired my DD is hoping to express/formula feed. I'm not sure if she's made her mind up on bottles yet, the MAM ones look good tho! X

Welcome @ThorsMistress Flowers

itallhappensforareason · 24/04/2018 10:22

@sososotired I've been looking at those ones too. I've had a lot of recommendations for MAM bottles so will probably go with them - also a lot of advice to avoid Tommee Tippee. I am hoping to breast feed but also want to express and want DH to be able to feed.

CJ1990 · 24/04/2018 11:51

Hi @Sushirolls i didn’t get given a weight that she is at the moment, but she’s on track to be 7lb 8 :)

Sushirolls · 24/04/2018 12:03

He didn't tell us @CJ1990 it was written on the notes he printed with the measurements etc x

Sushirolls · 24/04/2018 12:05

I need to get a grip 🙈😂 I spent £70+ yesterday on bits for DD/DGS .. then I just found this cute set in Tkmaxx 😇😂

It is killing me waiting for the 20 week scan - just want to buy things!!! :D

dinomad · 24/04/2018 13:37

@Ellmae me too, want to make sure everything is ok first!! Still really nervous about the scan, mines on 4th May

EllMae · 24/04/2018 13:42

@dinomad mine is on the 3rd! yeah it seems like ages since the last scan doesn't it? I know it is just over a week now to go but it seems like a long time since seeing baby and checking everything okay. I haven't had any problems (touch wood!) but it is still nice to know everything alright.. especially when I cant feel the baby at the mo. x

Gracey88 · 24/04/2018 16:06

Congratulations on everyone who got good news on the 20 week scam. I'm so nervous for mine it's next week Thursday and I'm not showing so I'm worried if the baby will be too small but what can I do so going to try not think about it.

niclw · 24/04/2018 17:37

Just got home from my scan. The baby wasn't playing ball so she couldn't check everything she needed too. Receptionist had already gone home so all I know is that I'll have to go back within the next two weeks. The bits she checked were all good though and got a good pic of it sucking its thumb.

Ktn35 · 24/04/2018 18:05

Congrats!!! You are lucky you will get to see it again! Xxxx

bluees · 24/04/2018 19:40

Hi ladies. Any comments on whooping cough injections during pregnancy. I was told by midwife to have but I have mixed feelings.

dinomad · 24/04/2018 20:27

@bluess I had whooping cough when I was young and it was horrible and my parents told me the other day that my brother had it at 6 months old and was really ill so I'm going to have the vaccination because of that. It's a really personal decision though so just do what you think is right :)

snowy1982 · 24/04/2018 20:33

I’m having mine this Friday, apparently there has been an outbreak in my area lately so really don’t want to take the risk

niclw · 24/04/2018 21:03

I'll be having the vaccine at half term. I know someone who was really ill with it when we were at primary school.

Katjolo · 24/04/2018 21:07

Exciting to read about everyone's scan. Mine is the 8th May and seriously can't wait!

itallhappensforareason · 24/04/2018 21:07

I'm definitely going to have the whooping cough vaccine for protection of baby. Didn't have the flu vaccine but this is one I see as a must.

SeattleKate · 25/04/2018 07:01

I'm pretty sure whooping cough vaccines don't contain live virus so definitely shouldn't be able to make you sick: www.cdc.gov/pertussis/pregnant/mom/safety-side-effects.html and whooping cough can be deadly for small babies. Apparently the vaccine only lasts for about 10 years so even if you've had it before, you need it again. I had whooping cough in my teens and it was not fun!

I'm 18w today and I think I'm feeling the baby, sort of like I'm being poked gently from the inside or like a bubble popping near my skin. Does this sound like baby movements or just wind :)? I had about 5 minutes yesterday where I kept getting that sensation in the same spot, sort of half way below my belly button. Maybe just wishful thinking?!

splendidsqueak7 · 25/04/2018 07:25

Nice to be with some other Mamas excitedly/nervously awaiting 20 week scan! Mine is 3rd May too: why can’t it just hurry up and be next Thurs already!!

@SeattleKate I’m 18w4d, and that’s exactly what my baby’s movements feel like. I was expecting gentle ‘flutters’ but no, they’re more like a prod or muscle twitch. Hurrah for our wriggly babies!

I’m feeling a bit self conscious about my belly. My BMI was 25 at 8w, and I’m already showing and in mat. clothes now. Struggling a bit with body confidence :( I know we all show differently, but i feel like the only big bump in my pregnancy yoga class.

itallhappensforareason · 25/04/2018 08:46

I think I've started to feel baby the last few days, I've been waiting for this fluttering feeling that so many people describe but like said above it's more like a gentle muscle twitch. Tends to happen just a few times in the evenings when I'm sat watching telly and also felt it in bed this morning. Can't be sure that it's baby but I'm guessing it probably is.

snowy1982 · 25/04/2018 09:09

@seattlekate, that’s sounds pretty much like my LO movements, I get the bubble popping sensation (and some muscle twitching) below my belly button. Some days I notice loads of them and other days I hardly notice any. It occurs most frequently in the evenings and early morning, though the last couple nights I have have very disrupted nights sleep and have noticed it when i’ve been lying awake

niclw · 25/04/2018 10:33

@SeattleKate Prodd, bubbles and pinching is how I felt mine initially. It's moved more towards nudges now.

yesterday I could feel (from inside) that the head wedged in my right side then the sonographer confirmed it was there. It's back in the same position this morning so I'm hoping they don't ring and say come back today. I'm getting impatient to find out when attempt 4 will happen (1-3 being yesterday).
