Hi everyone,

Bit late to the boards but was wondering if I could join in. I’m 19 weeks today, due 9th September. Still hasn’t quite sunk in yet.

missamy94 · 15/04/2018 10:59

18 week today! Wondering when I will start seeing a bump?! My BMI is over 35 to start with so I'm aware I'm a little on the larger side but anyone with a similar bmi and on first baby, when did you start showing and/or feeling movement?

sososotired · 15/04/2018 18:13

@missamy94 I'm 17 weeks and bmi is 30 so to put it in easier terms a nice round size 14 my bump popped out this week, or that's what people around me say I just look fatter to myself! I have also felt some movement not loads but little flutters :) this is baby number 2 so I might just know what I want to feel!

Doll87 · 15/04/2018 18:30

@ichifanny we found out we were having a little girl yesterday too! Absolutely besotted! We went to a private scan clinic that recorded the heartbeat and put it in a teddy for us! It's so lovely! My mum is obsessed with it lol 💗 #teampink!!!

dinomad · 15/04/2018 18:46

@ SeattleKate I'm the same, apart from a little bit of a podge I don't feel that pregnant either, boobs have def not got bigger. My weight doesn't seem to have gone up by more than a couple of pounds. I'm just hoping it means I'm not going to have so much trouble losing the weight afterwards!! My trousers are def tighter so have had to switch to underbump maternity oned but still don't have a bump to show, just feel a bit fatter!!

AyeAyeFishyPie · 15/04/2018 18:49

Hi Squiffy. Welcome! We are close together with our due dates - I'm the 4th. have you felt baby move yet? Mine went from nothing to everyday!

missamy94 · 15/04/2018 20:04

@sososotired I think I just look fat, nothing seems to be a definite bump, my belly has got hard but other than that nothing, not feeling much in the way of movement, but I don't know what I'm meant to be feeling, hopefully won't be long though I'm hoping by my scan which is 2 week Wednesday I will have a definite bump and also be feeling some movements

Squiffy01 · 15/04/2018 21:40

ayeayefishyoie thanks. I can’t decide if I have felt it move yet possibly felt something last night. Like something was flicking me but from inside, three times then stopped nothing else. So not positive.

My belly has definitely got bigger the last week but to me still doesn’t look like a bump I just think I’ve got really fat. It is amazing how quickly the waist disappears though. Went to put on a dress this weekend which is fine cause stretchy but the belt I normally wear with it wasn’t even go near me.

What does everyone do for work? Have you all decided when you will go off and how long you will have of leave?
Saw above a Facebook group mentioned how do I join that?

sososotired · 16/04/2018 06:35

@missamy94 of this is your first baby it's pretty normal to show s little later, my muscles are f?,&ked from my first pregnancy and my uterus and stuff already stretched whereas if this is your first everything is still intact so to speak! As far as movement goes it's very faint at the moment but it feels like bubbles/ gas lol really low down in my belly like between my pubic hair line and belly button Grin I have my scan Thursday in two weeks can't wait to see what this little person is!

CJ1990 · 16/04/2018 08:06

I’m over 19 weeks and no movement so wouldn’t worry (even though I have been!) but everyone says it’s normal :) and I’m also not really showing. You can tell a little now but if I wear a baggy top then it’s definitely hidden.
ended up in triage yesterday evening due to a bleed. They were so lovely and listened to the heartbeat and again reassured me it was fine to be not feeling anything yet. Aparenrly any sort of bleed, how ever small, in the second trimester, they want you to come in for. Didn’t know that! I thought I was just being overly cautious as usual. Had bleeds early on and was told just to wait it out and see what happens.
Got my 20 week scan on Friday - nervous / excited for that! X

EllMae · 16/04/2018 11:47

@sososotired I have my scan two weeks Thursday too! I am so excited to find out the gender and to see if everything okay. Seems like ages since last scan so looking forward to seeing baby again. Hope everything is going well with you.

@squiffy01 I am a marketing exec in Birmingham. Due on 20th September so I'm thinking of leaving work around 10th. No idea how long for yet. How long is everyone else thinking? x

itallhappensforareason · 16/04/2018 12:41

Oh wow, lots of baby girlies! Hubby had a dream Friday night that we had a little girl and I had a dream on Saturday night that we were at our scan and found out we were having a girl - it was only yesterday I told him about my dream and then he said he had had one too. Very weird! We've both been convinced it's a boy but the last few weeks we've both been leaning towards a girl. I have my scan next Wednesday so hopefully we will be able to find out.

I'm very nervous for the scan though I must say. I still haven't felt any movement yet and whilst I have a bit of a bump forming to me it looks more like fat than baby so it seems I've got no real proof that everything is alright in there.

CJ1990 · 16/04/2018 13:11

@itallhappensforareason I’m in the same boat as you and felt no movement. Also worried about the 20 week scan - mines on Friday. I was reassured by the Midwife’s last night though that it’s totally normal. As hard as it is x I’ve gone mad and convinced myself she can’t move her legs or something even tho I saw them move at the 12 week scan!! Haha x

itallhappensforareason · 16/04/2018 13:30

@CJ1990 I've been very relaxed about it all but the closer the scan gets the more worried I get as I just start thinking about everything that could go wrong. I'd like to say there will come a point when the worrying will stop but I'm sure it won't - not even when they're 40 years old! Grin

CJ1990 · 16/04/2018 13:47

@itallhappensforareason right there with you! I managed to calm myself down but now it’s so close I’m getting nervous again! I’m sure it’s all fine tho and we will being booted in no time Grin

Charlotte2101 · 16/04/2018 16:42

@CJ1990 @itallhappensforareason hi both I had my 20 week scan this morning. I too don't think I've felt anything (thought a couple of prods on Friday night) and baby wouldn't stop moving on the scan and I couldn't feel a thing!
I was really worrying about it but all was fine and everything healthy with baby.
Maybe your placentas are at the front, that can make feeling movement more difficult? I say that but mine isn't at the front and I still can't feel it 😂

I'm leaving it to be a surprise. OH thought he saw something between legs momentarily but he wasn't sure. Sonographer said she twice so OH asked if he did know but he said he didn't know as he had avoided the area because we didn't want to find out.
I imagine they end up saying he she sometimes without even realising but who knows

Very happy and relieved that all is ok xx

September 2018 Babies - Thread #3
sososotired · 16/04/2018 16:57

@EllMae when is your due date? We are due 22/9 o can't wait to find out is it's a girl or boy! My Son has already picked out a few names for his sibling 💝

CJ1990 · 16/04/2018 17:06

Hi @Charlotte2101 that’s great - glad everything was ok! :)

niclw · 16/04/2018 17:13

I survived my first day back at work today although no students in. I had to sit in the same seat all morning with a laptop perched on my knees and bump on the edge of it while baby kept moving. I had only felt it move when I was lying previously so gasped when I felt it while sitting. I'm guessing baby was bored, I certainly was!

Good luck to everyone with scans this week. I've got mine next Tuesday so not too long. Is everyone else finding that people want to know what your having? I'm still determined not to find out.

@Charlotte2101 Congrats on your scan. Baby looks very happy and comfy.

sososotired · 16/04/2018 18:22

@niclw I'm back at work on Wednesday but not looking forward to it at all! From you saying you had no students I'm guessing that you teach?! Are you planning on going back to work after the summer holiday?

People ask what we are having which doesn't annoy me half as much as people touching my bump, why do they do that do they not realise that you can't feel the baby Hmm

niclw · 16/04/2018 19:04

@sososotired I'm due 11th sept and school doesn't start till 5th so I've decided not to go back. Initially I planned on one day to make sure my dept knew what was going on but I don't want to drive 25 miles on my own that close to my due date. I'm just hoping they can find a maternity cover for me as there is a massive shortage of geog teachers in this area. Are you a teacher too?

I've not really had the bump touching yet. Only once in John Lewis changing rooms - the bra fitting assistant felt it was ok to touch my bare belly as I stood there in a bra. I wasn't impressed!

missamy94 · 16/04/2018 19:59

Really struggling with back pain tonight, lower spine pain, I've had it on and off since very early on but really struggling tonight, I'm laid on the floor with my pregnancy pillow and hot water bottle, been taking paracetamol but nothing seems to be helping! Sad
