I'm completely stuck on names. Every time I think of one I like, I then come up with a reason not to use it as it reminds me of a student I've taught and usually not anything good about them.

DariaG · 10/04/2018 17:06

@Charlotte2101 Theo sounds very nice! Did you consider Millie as a full name? It could be Camilla, Emily, Amelia, Mila (or Milla)
I was expected to be a boy named Daniel but my DM's scans were of awful quality back then so I was a big surprise myselfGrin and I've decided to call my son Daniel

And I really like Astrid for a girl but my DH said no way.. might still call a girl Astrid as she will have DH's surname so I think I have the final word on name anywayEaster Grin

Charlotte2101 · 10/04/2018 17:12

@DariaG I considered Millie as the full name, Emily is my best friends name so would feel strange using that, I do like Amelia but it's so commonly used these days and don't think it "flows" as well?

I really like Daniel for a boy. I like Astrid too but it reminds me of someone that I liked but she was very out there and a bit much for me to manage unless in small doses! Hard when you link names to people you know isn't it? Xx

DariaG · 10/04/2018 17:19

@niclw I hate when it happens! I like Mia for a girl but it's my DH dog's name🤦🏻‍♀️

Charlotte2101 · 10/04/2018 17:27

@DariaG I really love Mia, that's on my list too

My aunties cat is called Theo but OH just can't think of anything that he prefers so I've just accepted it now haha xxx

AyeAyeFishyPie · 10/04/2018 17:43

@Charlotte
Mainly completely irrational 'gut feeling', but my bump already seems to be be more 'all around' which is what my sisters looked like carrying girls. Everyone thinks its a girl - without me saying anything - but no, this isn't based on nothing scientific!

AyeAyeFishyPie · 10/04/2018 19:34

*anything scientific. Sorry. I am literate - promise.

missamy94 · 10/04/2018 20:06

I'm sorry if this is too much information but I wondered if anyone has had similar problems and when/if i need to contact midwife/GP. I'm 17+2 and I've only ever been sick a handful of times during pregnancy and it's always been instantly after my evening meal and havnt been sick in around 4/5 weeks. Tonight however I was sick, again instantly after my evening meal (couldn't even finish my meal) I have also had a very bad case of diarrhoea today which isn't like me at all. I've read it can be common to have diarrhoea in pregnancy but I've also read that I should inform my midwife/GP if it's bad. What is bad? does anyone have any experience in past or current pregnancies? Any advice would be wonderful! And sorry for the long post!

snowy1982 · 10/04/2018 20:23

@missamy94, I have no experience of this, but if I were you I would monitor the situation for 24 hours, if sickness and diarrhoea are still continuing I would give mw a call

missamy94 · 10/04/2018 20:56

Snowy thank you! I will defiantly keep an eye on it

snowy1982 · 10/04/2018 21:01

How you feeling now and any more diarrhoea? Most likely you’ve just eaten something that didn’t agree with you and you were getting it out of your system, but if still suffering in morning it’s no harm to give a ring

missamy94 · 11/04/2018 07:07

@snowy1982 I'm feeling ok this morning, not had any more but my stomach feels a bit dodgy so will see how I am today and hopefully was just a one off thing, thanks again though

snowy1982 · 11/04/2018 07:09

Go east on your tummy today, try and eat a little bit of something plain and see how it goes, but if you are still worried then ring MW and see what they say (really hope you don’t need to do that Smile)

PinkyPromise77 · 11/04/2018 08:00

@missamy94 how are you feeling today? Has it subsided? X

I had a cheese toastie last night that I really really REALLY wanted but 30 min later my little parasite decided he didn't want after all 😂 🤢

OP posts:
snowy1982 · 11/04/2018 08:15

@pinkypromise, my little parasite had better not decide they don’t like cheese, it’s my favourite food

PinkyPromise77 · 11/04/2018 08:44

@snowy1982 I know right?! He's already on my bad side as decided recently he doesn't like Nando's 😂😂😂

OP posts:
snowy1982 · 11/04/2018 08:58

Not Nando’s!!! I’d be devastated! Thankfully my little one hasn’t given me any food aversions except for soy sauce which I am beginning to be able to stomach in very small doses now

PinkyPromise77 · 11/04/2018 09:25

Ahhhhhhh I know @snowy1982!!!! I'm pretty devastated too! Thankfully Wagamama's was fine... so fingers crossed. Will give Nando's one more go to make sure hehehe :)

The only thing I've really gone off is chilli - I think it was just coincidence, but 3 of my 4 "morning" sickness bouts were on the days I had chilli or the day following. I just don't fancy it at all now because I just associate it with being sick Sad

In the early days I went off coffee but I can drink it again now. Think it was because I tried to go straight for the decaf which doesn't taste particularly lovely. I'm have half normal coffee half decaf now although I'm not drinking it every day like I used to.

DariaG · 11/04/2018 12:05

I've tried decaf and it tastes so bad unless it's prepared in a coffee shop, still having a cup of regular coffee each day, but swapped all green and black teas for herbal ones (camomile, mint) and fruit infusions ( Taylors makes very tasty ones)
And my parasite doesn't let me eat any meat unless it's 10 or 5% fat minced beef! The smell of chicken is the worst, I think it's been ruined for me forever Sad
Do you have any cravings? I'm crazy about freshly baked bread and sweets! never had a sweet tooth before, even my favourite berry used to be red currant xD Now I constantly want chocolate, ice-cream, jams, even baked triple chocolate brownies last weekend Grin

snowy1982 · 11/04/2018 12:30

@DariaG, I seem to be craving chocolate, I sometimes wonder if it’s just an excuse to pig out, but if I don’t eat chocolate I get really upset about it. I think it’s because my energy levels or so low that I am craving sugar for the energy boost as opposed to actually craving chocolate

CJ1990 · 11/04/2018 12:43

Hi ladies,
Congrats to everyone finding out if they’re having a boy or girl - very exciting! I’m impressed to those who are waiting - I’m far too impatient! =D
Snowy and DariaG, I’m the same! I eat healthy but I just have no energy so I end up topping up my healthy food with chocolate or sugary treats...I’m eating more than I probably should do but would rather get some healthy food in me too. But can’t go without sugary food right now! If I only eat healthy in the day I find myself exhausted. I type this as I eat a cream egg Grin

itallhappensforareason · 11/04/2018 13:14

I've had zero cravings... there are things I fancy but then that's normal, you would normally fancy things even if you weren't pregnant. There's nothing that I have HAD to have. My mum said when she was pregnant with me she never had any cravings either so maybe I won't get any.

niclw · 11/04/2018 13:38

I had an aversion to anything sweet but chocolate in particular. I had one square 5 weeks ago and the rest is still in the fridge along with Easter eggs. I seem to be able to eat some sweet things this week though. I haven't had cravings but I've eaten loads of chicken and also bbq Pringles in the last few months as I've just fancied this instead. One of my dept at work says it's a sign I'm having a boy.

CJ1990 · 11/04/2018 13:47

Everyone was Convinved I was having a boy, including me! All the “theory’s” and my gut feeling said boy but I’m having a girl! Was slightly shocked as I was so sure! Grin
Anyone else getting lots of “helpful” input / advise from people? E.g your bumps very small for almost 19 weeks, why aren’t you feeling kicks, you should be eating more...I feel like everyone around me has turned into a pregnancy expert all of a sudden! I can garuntee if I was bigger it would be “your bump is very big?” Hmm haha
