kirinm on my cervical length scans (internal) she always stuck the normal probe on afterwards to do a trace of the heart beat (at 18-26 weeks you couldn't really see the baby much on an internal scan)

I'm still waiting to hear from the hospital regarding an antenatal appointment from my most recent growth scan. Will text midwife later afternoon if I haven't heard.

AnneLovesGilbert · 19/03/2018 10:31

I started on the cyclogest last night, loads of stuff came out this morning, creamy mostly white, some very slightly brown/pink. Nothing resembling proper pink or red. Slight back ache but no cramps or anything and feeling much more chipper. Boobs are massive and sore, always a relief Grin

DH looks like he's on the edge of some pretty severe stress and anxiety, not like him at all, wish there was something I could do or say that would make him feel better.

Lisa, thank you so so much for all of that and for the link. Can't tell you how grateful I am for all the tips and thoughts. In the end I thought it can't do any harm, if it makes me feel like shit then it's only for 5 or so weeks, and I'll feel like I did everything I could. Logic is never my strong suit, and especially not at the moment. The anxiety is like nothing I've ever known, it's paralysing, and such a foreign feeling.

Thank you Slomi, that sounds like it must have been really frightening but glad you're doing okay. Did you know about the bleeding or was it all internal? That's a massive dose as well. I'm already pretty shattered most of the time, so sleeping when I can. Haven't had any nausea or constipation so hope they stay at bay but I'll keep an eye. Glad you're feeling better now and baby strong and on track.

When did everyone have their booking appointments? I self referred by email just over 2 weeks ago, which they say to do between 5 and 7 weeks. Haven't heard anything yet.

Slomi · 19/03/2018 11:57

@anne There was a very tiny amount of spotting around week 8, definitely nothing to panic about. So it was really a total shock when she pointed out the bleed on the scan, it was pretty big and also near the baby, which is probably why the higher dose. Thankfully all seems to have calmed down now. Don't know if that's down to the Cyclogest but it definitely didn't hurt anything (except making me feel crap for a bit!)
I know you said you had a good scan only a few days ago, but it might be worth thinking about approaching your epu for another in light of the bleed. I know for me there was nothing anyone could say or anything any amount of logic could do to relay my anxiety during the time between my two scans and if I'd had even a hint of blood I'd have been back into them. They have been really lovely and reassuring, never once made me feel like I was overreacting.

Also just about the Cyclogest hiding mc and sorry for tmi, I didn't ask specifically about mc so I don't know the effects but I do know I was told if the cyst burst I will know straight away because aside from the pain, there will be period levels of blood/bloody discharge, she said the Cyclogest would not stop that level of bleeding.

AnneLovesGilbert · 19/03/2018 12:21

Thank you Slomi, so glad all going well for you now.

I know what you mean, next RMC scan is scheduled for next weds but I could contact the EPU before then. Haven't had any dealings with them yet for this pregnancy.

The thing is that it really wasn't even proper spotting. It was watery cm with a tinge, and not even proper pink, so I feel completely hysterical for worrying. I've never had anything like it in pregnancy, and I think my anxiety levels are through the roof generally, under the surface all the time, so it sent my spiralling. No tummy cramps at all. And I am getting lower back pain but it's pretty mild and happens sometimes anyway - especially now I've been banned from pilates till I'm past 14 weeks. When is back pain a normal office worker/early pregnancy thing and when's something to panic about? Also, at 7 weeks, if I'm going to lose it there's nothing anyone can do about it is there.

I hate being like this so fucking much. It's like I'm going mad.

intelligentPutty · 19/03/2018 15:40

Hi,
Very tentatively joining again.. Left this post in Early february due to MC.

Had no period since (it's been 6 weeks now) and just done a ClearBlue (waited a while as I was scared what I would see, and has a spare left from the 2 pack I had purchased).

I got Pregnant 3+ weeks....
So.. here's hoping this one goes a little better than the last 3 did!
Scan on Thursday.....

How are you all doing, I haven't caught up yet but will do so in coming days... its all just sinking in...

X

Just checking in as today was a weird day for me. It was the same day of pregnancy that I found out about my mmc last time AND a close relative had a baby today. This was a pregnancy I found out about when I was still bleeding from miscarriage so has been a difficult one for me to see progressing. But the day is nearly done...

@annelovesgilbert What a stressful time. I have no words of wisdom but thinking of you and hoping for a calmer week ahead.

@Intelligentputty hello and welcome! Wishing you a healthy and uneventful pregnancy.

kirinm · 19/03/2018 18:15

Scan done. Cervix long and baby still there. Phew. Glad I don't have to do that for another few weeks.

Just found out from my notes that I've got an anterior placenta so I'm guessing I won't be feeling baby move any time soon - I was kind of banking on baby movements helping with anxiety!

Welcome back @intelligentPutty fingers crossed that everything is straightforward this year.

kirinm · 19/03/2018 18:27

Sorry @intelligentPutty - I meant this time not year!

BertieBotts · 19/03/2018 19:02

I have an anterior placenta too but it doesn't seem to have impacted on movement. That or I have a karate chopper in there. Been feeling sporadically from 13 weeks ish. More every day these last few weeks (17 weeks now). At first I could only feel them right down in one corner.

I just wanted to say hello, I'm still following everyone's journeys, glad to see so much good news, and so many new faces. I'm wishing you ladies the fastest possible first trimesters! Flowers

intelligentPutty · 19/03/2018 19:17

Thanks ladies. It's good to be back.

keepinghopeful · 19/03/2018 19:23

@AnneLovesGilbert how are you since? @intelligentPutty welcome, im here too after 3 early losses & terrified will happen again. Are you doing anything different for this preg?

kirinm · 19/03/2018 19:26

Oh that's good to know @BertieBotts I'm really looking forward to feeling movement.

intelligentPutty · 19/03/2018 19:31

@keepinghopeful
First was an ectopic and then last two were mc at 7.5 and mmc at 8.5 weeks
So I'm not 'officially' recurrent as the first was ectopic so it doesn't count..... I think...

But because the first was ectopic I'm seeing epu on Thursday so they'll check it's in right place. Give me a lot to worry about for another couple of weeks (that's what normally happens). But I think I'll ask at that appt if I can have anything to help...
I see u have something. Is it helping do u think?

kirinm · 19/03/2018 19:37

@intelligentPutty my first was ectopic followed by miscarriages. I think the RMC counted the ectopic. Hopefully you won't need to worry about that though.

keepinghopeful · 19/03/2018 19:38

@intelligentPutty aw i see. Not sure maybe helps a bit for my mind that im doing something different this time - who knows!

BertieBotts · 20/03/2018 08:40

For those who are buying clothes - H&M have a load of rainbow stuff in their new arrivals including a "Dreams do come true" vest :)

welcome putty hope your scan goes well on thursday, anne hope your ok today. and oh my goodness it's dragging. i think because i tested early. I've known for 6 days but I'm only 4+1. i need to have plenty of things to look forward to to make this go faster....

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/03/2018 10:48

Thanks nocats. Called the EPU yesterday as was having quite bad lower back ache and mega anxiety but she was incredibly unsympathetic, which was actually sort of helpful!

They wouldn't see me without a referral anyway, why would anyone worry about blood that was anything other than gushing and bright red, loads of people get back ache, what on earth was I worrying about, did I know it was an emergency facility, did I have an emergency?! Shock

Later occurred to me that on top of doing a lot of painting and moving stuff the day before, we'd also slept in the spare room which has an awful soft mattress, so there were plenty of reasons for back ache other than impending miscarriage.... I've had a serious word with myself Blush

I'm exhausted today but no more bloated on the cyclogest than I have been and had a super productive night finishing the decorating and having some quality time with DH Grin

Is anyone else having a mare with time off for appointments when you haven't yet told work? I was out for half a day last week for RMC and scan, it all took hours. I'm back there next Weds for more of the same, and my booking appointment has come through for Thursday morning, which I just can't do. They say to expect that to last 2 hours, and when I had my HCG bloods there I was waiting for that.

I know what you mean nocats, never known days go so sodding slowly. If you're not too tired, making plans is the way to go. I'm 7+4 today and it's drag...ging.

Haven't seen those in the UK Bertie, but they sound amazing so hopefully we'll get them!

How are you today keepinghopeful?

keepinghopeful · 20/03/2018 11:11

@AnneLovesGilbert delighted to hear you are feeling much better!! Its so hard not to panic & unfortunately we are just another number to epu even with RMC. Glad the cyclogest not causing any ill side effects.

Im not too bad thanks, done another test this morning as reassurance so good strong positive (hadnt done one since last weds), in 2 of my previous early losses it would have been very faint/neg at this stage so holding onto this as a good sign. Now will step away from the tests.

Im too scared yet to ring gp/epu as scared if i admit it something will go wrong 😏. Think ill be 5 wks tomo/thurs.

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/03/2018 11:24

Thank you. Me too! Smile

I poas most days till we had the scan last week. It helped, so if you find it reassuring then go for it. I had a big bag of ICs and I just did one most mornings. Then a CB digi to check I had a 3+, then I stopped. Haven't ruled out doing it again though - no judgement on anything that settles you down!

Are you doing anything different this time or can you keep under the radar for a while then self refer to the midwife when you feel ready?

Snorebrown · 20/03/2018 11:31

Hello Anne and Keeping. Im 5+3 and today i have a 3+ on a digi test so thinking i might now feel i can step away from testing. Maybe...

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/03/2018 11:35

See how you feel Snore, honestly, there aren't any prizes for bravery so if carrying on helps then do, and if you're already feeling pretty secure then go with that and step away from the tests Smile

NoCatsHere · 20/03/2018 11:48

I have lots of ic's too so enjoying doing them every few days and then when they are gone i will leave the testing.

anne glad epu helped in a sort of none helpful way! i think it's more than natural to worry, a lot, about pretty much everything. and coming here to say that is so helpful when really we are the only people that really get it. there is nothing we can do to change the outcome, we have hope, and each other and that is what i'm clinging onto at the moment!

Snorebrown · 20/03/2018 12:14

Ive even plucked up the courage to make the first call to the midwife today...
