If we can't be positive about the weather what can we be? Grin

Laying in bed terrified of what the morning will bring. We have our 12+3 scan.....I’ve had two missed miscarriages in the last year. I’ve never had children of my own and so desperately want this pregnancy to be successful.....had the early scans both were fine, and heard our baby’s lovely strong heartbeat at 9+2 but just have ‘that feeling’ tonight. Dreading tomorrow 😢 Trying so hard to be positive and failing miserably!!

BertieBotts · 13/03/2018 22:47

SPNs get up if you can't sleep and do something distracting, it's okay not to be positive if you don't feel it, it's not going to affect anything.

Just one more day to get through and then you'll know, it's v likely to be positive so hopefully everything will be alright but I would focus on getting through it rather than hoping it will be okay :)

Good luck for scans this morning @SPNs and @UnicornsandRainbows1

MsJuniper · 14/03/2018 08:04

Good luck @AnneLovesGilbert @SPNs @UnicornsandRainbows1 - hope some sleep was had.

@kirinm when is your scan this week?

kirinm · 14/03/2018 08:11

@MsJuniper no, mine is next Monday. 4pm so an entire day of waiting!

hotcookie · 14/03/2018 08:23

Good luck to people having scans today Smile

I'm 36 weeks today according to dating scan, and am on day 3 of maternity leave. Bored already... We are having building work done, so I can't nest, or clean or get anything ready... Lots of reading and relaxing, but I'm not very good at doing that!

Growth scan tomorrow, am pretty sure she's still breech, so it will time to decide if I want an ECV. The RCOG info sheet says it isn't suitable for people with bicornuate uterus, and they think I either have that or septate, so I am not sure what to do-I presume they would double/triple check before trying... Really don't want the baby coming early-we have another 3.5 weeks of the builders (and due date in 4 weeks Wink )

MsJuniper · 14/03/2018 09:25

Ah @hotcookie I am wishing the days away until my mat leave! Do you have any friends who work p/t and can come and visit to keep you occupied?

This one was breech until a couple of days before the 36w scan, then over the weekend I felt her make a dive for it and at the scan she had moved. Have you tried any of the supposed techniques eg rocking on hands & knees? I was going to refuse the ECV if it had been on the cards.

AKP79 · 14/03/2018 09:50

Hi @hotcookie - my first was breech and I have been told it is likely this one will be too. With my first I had two ECVs, which were absolutely fine and nothing like people tell you they are on here. He didn't turn, but as I still tried for a natural breech birth - not something I would recommend for your first, I wont go into detail because it'll serve no purpose. However, although I tried for a natural breech I had a section booked in for 41 weeks as I wasn't allowed to go beyond this point.

This time around I am consultant led and I have requested that the section is booked for 40 weeks. The timing is right for us to go to 40 weeks and it is your baby and ultimately your choice. So if you want to wait until nearer your due date to book a section then I would push for that.

In terms of things you can do to turn the baby yourself - take a look at a website called Spinning Babies, there's some great exercises on there and may provide some useful activities for you to do while you're waiting for baby. I did everything and anything - handstands in swimming pools, acupuncture, moxibustion, floor exercises, ice cubes on my tummy, you name it I tried it and sometimes they're just happy where they are.

Good luck!

Am thinking of those with scans today and hoping for good news for you all

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 14/03/2018 11:01

Scan went well. Measuring at 8+3 so have moved up a day. With the last MC, baby stopped growing at 8+1/8+2 so naturally been pretty terrified but I'm so hoping that our bad luck has come to an end. It's the furthest we've gotten with a hb anyway so I'll try to hold on to that.

I'm not really one for posting scan pics but screw it. Though if I need to remove it later on if it upsets anyone I'll happily contact someone about getting it taken off (sometimes you just don't want to see them during anxious times and I totally get that! Smile)

Fabulous news unicorns!!

hotcookie · 14/03/2018 13:26

MsJuniper I am trying to keep myself busy, but there is only so much time I can spend out of the house-and I keep thinking of how much flatpacking & nesting I could be getting done Grin

Thank you AKP79 Natural breech birth is not an option at my local hospital, and I don't think I'd fancy it anyway, not for a first. I suppose I'll have to discuss the ECV with a consultant before it happened anyway, especially due to the possibility of a septate/bicornuate uterus. I'll see what my midwife says if she is still breech after scan tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure she hasn't turned since friday when I last saw her.

I don't mind the small risks of ECV but it's more the poor success rates-approx 40% for first time mothers, and the chances she'll turn herself back again!

hotcookie · 14/03/2018 13:27

And brilliant news unicorns it's great to get past the 1st milestone

hotcookie · 14/03/2018 13:31

Oh and I've been looking at spinning babies for ages, but I can't do inversions Sad as I feel like I'm going to pass out, but hopefully will go swimming next week so can do some handstands then!

moomoo85 · 14/03/2018 14:15

Having a low day today. Don't know what has triggered it. I am only 5+2 today but I can't get the idea out of my head that something is wrong.

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/03/2018 17:37

So happy for you unicorns, what a relief and lovely news Smile

I had a good one too! Measuring 6+1 so a couple of days behind where I thought, heart beating, sac the right size, all good. Goid appointment with RMC and back in two weeks for another scan and appointment.

BertieBotts · 14/03/2018 17:46

Woohoo yay lovely scans! I love the way the really early ones look like jelly babies Grin

Hand hold moomoo. Remember "Today, I am pregnant".

Hi guys really paranoid (I'm a person that worries) what's people's thoughts on this? I saw the heart beat at 6 weeks and heard the heart beat at 8 weeks. Had a miscarriage December 2017 so hoping this will happen!!!!
