Thank you @Tidloo :) I know the feeling. This is our first baby too and it's scary when you don't know what to expect and what is 'normal'. I was pretty relaxed until i had spotting this morning. Also sending lots of well wishes to you and baby :) x

Scoobysue10 · 01/02/2018 17:46

Helen 290.
I am not eating anything nutratious.
I have gone off meat.
Not eating much fruit and veg.
I think my blood test will show that i'm anaemic. My skin is dry and have spots on face. My hair is greasy. I look like crap. My lovely nails are all breaking it's horrible. The life is being sucked out of me. Lol

PumpkinPatch000 · 01/02/2018 17:55

I saw the GP this afternoon @Helen290 I was surprised they didn't do any tests. I've been referred for a scan tomorrow but as you say, it's still early and I could actually be up a week further behind potentially that what we currently think.. oh well, i'l find out more tomorrow. It feels re-assuring at least something is happening.

ThorsMistress · 01/02/2018 18:01

Hi all.

Had an early scan today which put me at 6+3.

Feeling nauseous and not really in the mood for food atm

RedRobin7 · 01/02/2018 18:03

@PinkyPromise77 Thank you for the link, I've bookmarked it just in case. Really hope I won't need it though and that I'm worrying for no reason.

@PumpkinPatch000 Have everything crossed for you. Let us know how you get on tomorrow x

PumpkinPatch000 · 01/02/2018 18:05

Thank you @RedRobin7 going to try and relax as must as I can tonight and stay calm - if that's possible x

Helen290 · 01/02/2018 18:24

@PumpkinPatch000 yeh I'm surprised they didn't check your bloods that's usual standard, and if your a week behind the scan want show much at all, I would recommend if the scan is inconclusive I would ask for your hcg and progesterone checked then again 48hrs later if it doubles that's a very good sign. Good luck 🙂

Helen290 · 01/02/2018 18:28

@Scoobysue10 I am managing to eat some fruit and veg but lots of carbs, I'm lucky in the respect that my skin has never been so clear I always suffered with acne that's one of the signs I knew I was pregnant before I tested, but my general drive to make myself look nice had gone out the window, I think that's normal to feel like crap in the first trimester lack of energy etc.
My sickness has eased yesterday and today still feeling sick but not as intense this happened exactly like this over a week ago seems to be a pattern.

Helen290 · 01/02/2018 18:31

@Tidloo I'm a nurse and the flu jab is safe!! There will always be stories of bad things happening, as long as your not running a temp at the time of having it or your allergic to eggs you will be fine it's advised to have it if you have a compromised immune system which happens when your pregnant it's more risky getting the flu! So don't worry 😉

PumpkinPatch000 · 01/02/2018 18:37

That’s what I thought too @Helen290 I’ve and a note of those things and will definitely ask about them if the scan doesn’t show up much. Having researched online tonight I think I’ll be very lucky if they find a heart beat or baby this early. X

Helen290 · 01/02/2018 18:54

@PumpkinPatch000 that's true they normally don't scan before 6 weeks for that reason, I would suggest the blood test 🙂, if your progesterone is still high and doesn't drop in the 48hr period and your hcg doubles that's a very good sign 🙂.

CrabbyPatty · 01/02/2018 19:29

Hello, I'm a bit late on a few points but wanted to chime in with my two penneth.... I'm also a nurse and advocate for the flu jab in pregnancy. I actually should have had mine before I was pregnant for work reasons, but didn't get round to it. When I found out I was pregnant everyone at work was getting flu and I ended up getting really scared when I came down with some symptoms (turned out to be just a chest infection) so personally I would say it could save you anxiety later.

@PinkyPromise77 as you mentioned you work in HR (but anyone feel free to comment) I was wondering what you thought about this?... I stupidly told my manager about being pregnant, partially due to shock but also I just assumed I'd get morning sickness and it would effect work. For tedious reasons her manager then found out (not a breach in my confidentiality it just happened) anyway now they both want to inform two more senior managers (I know NHS heirachy is ridic!) so they can plan ahead due to my team already being short staffed and the difficulties my maternity leave will pose. I felt uncomfortable with this and pressured into agreeing. What are your thoughts?

Scoobysue10 · 01/02/2018 21:13

Well I started the day being sick and have ended the day being sick. Although i've felt sick of an evening I hadn't actually been sick until tonight.
I just want this crappy sicky bit to end. I don't make a very good patient, I hate being ill. I much prefer looking after others.

pregnantandfierce · 01/02/2018 21:36

@scooby - feeling your pain. I couldn’t stomach food earlier and tonight went to Wagamama’s. I have been violently ill ever since. I opened a bottle of water thinking it was still but it was sparkling, projectile! The sight was not pretty at all.

I’m investing in ginger tea. I can’t wait to drop off to sleep to escape the nausea. Feeling very teary tonight, I wish I had my ex with me, just want to snuggle up to him (even though he’s a total bastard!). .

Scoobysue10 · 02/02/2018 06:21

Pregnantandfierce
It's horrible. I sometime look so forward to bed too just to escape the sickness.
What happened to you last night sounds horrid.

I am back on the ginger biscuits as that was helping before.
My partner lives 2 and a half hrs drive away. I get to see him for a few days now and then. I miss having him around aspecially when feeling ill and just want a cuddle. I am currently stuck living with the husband as he won't move out and he can't afford to live in the house on his own. So will be putting the house up for sale very soon. Have had to wait as my eldest is in her finale yr at secondary school and we will be moving out of the area. Just can't wait to be where I want to be.

PinkyPromise77 · 02/02/2018 06:37

@CrabbyPatty legally you don’t have to tell your work until 15th week before the expected week of childbirth. Most likely you would show by then so it would be pretty shitty if you waited until then :)

I would ask them to keep this in confidence as you trusted them with the information and you are not ready to share it with anyone else and you won’t be happy if this gets out especially that is so early and you had some issues (don’t need to give details) and want to wait until at least 12 week Scan but you will let them know when you are ready to share the news. They can’t make you! They should respect your wish as it’s so early on.

bubblelove here. Name hasn't synced up to my app. Feeling generally lousy. Threw up from 5am yesterday till 1pm. Went to the doctors for something unrelated and came out with a weeks prescription as I've got a bad UTI. I was also given anti sickness tablets. Has anyone had anti sickness pills that have helped during pregnancy? I cannot eat properly every time I take food I just instantly feel sick. Made a nice homemade chicken tikka last night and had one mouthful and had to bin it. Docs not too worried as this early in pregnancy if baby needs energy baby takes it regardless of how much you've eaten.. I just want to sit down to a meal. Feeling very sorry for myself and spending the day cuddling my hot water bottle and having naps!

snowy1982 · 02/02/2018 07:14

Sorry to hear how sick you are all feeling.

I had such a lazy day yesterday, was off work and apart from scan and an appointment with mortgage guy I did absolutely nothing (apart from snooze) all day and I still feel exhausted this morning.

DH is going away on a stag weekend today, is it bad that I am really looking forward to a weekend of peace and quiet and me time

Ktn35 · 02/02/2018 07:37

@pumkinpatch good luck today :) x

Can I ask when people’s morning sickness started? I’m 5+6 and haven’t had any yet. Sounds silly but I wish I did - it might make me stop panicking! Xx

Helen290 · 02/02/2018 07:41

@Ktn35 mine started at 6 weeks and has gone in a cycle of a week and half of really bad days then three days it's milder then back again really bad, currently I get most of my nausea morning and before lunch. Not everyone gets nausea tho two of my friends are currently pregnant much further along and they felt fine the whole way through other then fatigue.

Helen290 · 02/02/2018 07:42

@PumpkinPatch000 yeh good luck today I hope it goes well 🤞🏻🙏🏻 I have everything crossed for you. X

Helen290 · 02/02/2018 07:48

@Ktn35 it's really easy to get sucked into symptoms and what you should feel and comparing to everyone else trust me i worry just as much and I have nausea, each pregnancy is so individual, I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and my nausea has been better the last few days and that makes me worry so much but I try to be logical and think we are not machines things want be exactly the same the whole way through lol it's hard tho 🙈😔.

snowy1982 · 02/02/2018 08:25

@ktn35 I understand what you mean about worrying about sickness or lack of it, I have expressed some jealousy on here of other people’s sickness, but in reality I am glad I don’t have it. I have been experiencing mostly mild nausea on and off since getting BFP. Initially it was mild nausea every evening, then for about a week it got really bad in the evenings. For the past few weeks it has really calmed down and some days I have nothing at all, that is usually when I panic, but it always comes back. Last Friday I had awful nausea all day, then nothing for days but last 2 evenings it’s been back. On the other hand I have awful fatigue and terrible constipation to deal with.

What i’m trying to say is every pregnancy is different and we are all going to experience different symptoms to different degrees

Ktn35 · 02/02/2018 08:35

Thanks guys, I mainly just have twinges and cramps and sore boobs! I’m going to see my doctor about my anxiety as it’s now getting into my dreams and I’m sure can’t be good for the baby! I feel constantly stressed. Luckily it’s half term soon and I can relax for a bit! Thanks for your support guys :) xxxx

PumpkinPatch000 · 02/02/2018 08:45

Thank you @Ktn35 & @Helen290 we have the scan this morning. Feeling very anxious. I had no spotting since 2:30 yesterday, woke up this morning and it's started again. It's now far heavier too.
