@CJ1990 @Ktn35 Hopefully everything will be okay and we will wish we didn't spend so much time worrying but it's so hard not to. I think I will be much better once I've had the 12 week scan and can see all is okay... well I say that but it's also possible I'll still worry!

If everything is okay then I am definitely lucky to not have many symptoms. At least symptoms help to reassure people! There's no pleasing us though as I definitely wouldn't want to suffer as badly as people are with the sickness, it sounds awful.

I've also tried looking for a cheaper scan but my husband won't have it. One of the other ladies told me about a local place doing a discounted gender scan for £39 and although my husband is the only reason we will find out the gender, he is not desperate enough to spend money on a private scan!! He also got annoyed when I took 3 digital clear blues and about 12 cheap tests over the first couple of weeks. He thinks I'm mega weird but in that case there's a whole load of us on MN 😉

CJ1990 · 04/03/2018 09:59

@redrobin7 don’t worry my hubby thinks I’m mental right now! To be fair everyone else does too!!
I’m not doing any more private scans. I promised hubby I wouldn’t, and to be fair it stopped one worry and just gave me another. Desperate for 16 week appointment to hear the heartbeat. Just don’t feel pregnant - so odd!!

Ktn35 · 04/03/2018 10:10

Hi ladies! Anybody who had bad sickness noticing it stopping yet? I'm in week 11 and still feel awful. I'm really struggling! I need someone to tell me it's all going to go away soon please!!! X

RockinRobinn · 04/03/2018 12:53

Hi @Ktn35 I'm in the same boat as you I'll be 12 weeks on Wednesday, and as that seems to be the date most sources say things will start to get better that's what I'm desperately hoping for! But in reality from what I gather it's just completely different for each person. Have you been to your doctor to discuss how you're feeling?

CJ1990 · 04/03/2018 14:13

@ktn35 I hit 12 weeks last week. Barely had any symptoms but the one I did (sore boobs) went away then. So hopefully the 12 week mark is a thing :)

PinkyPromise77 · 04/03/2018 14:19

@Ktn35 sickness is better with my pills last 3 days (12w + 2 today) but not brave enough to try to come off the pills just yet as I had it pretty rough when I was sick...

As for the worry ladies I think we will always worry. After 1 Scan we will then worry until another one, especially probably all of us when it's our first :) just fingers crossed we don't drive our husbands crazy with it and they become more understanding :)

Ktn35, I am 14 weeks and my sickness and heightened sense of smell have gone. It does get better so hang in there. :)
Now trying to get rid of chest infection.

Ktn35 · 04/03/2018 14:41

Thanks guys. I think I might go to the doctors. I only throw uk 2-3 times a day on average but some days it's been up to 8 and I feel nauseous and dizzy 24/7. I can't function properly at all. Work has been a nightmare. I'll take to the gP and I guess at the very least they can give me something to show to work so they don't think I'm lying! That's an again for support x

RockinRobinn · 04/03/2018 15:07

@Ktn35 yes I would definitely go to your GP book an emergency/same day appointment as well if you are constantly dizzy, my doctor advised me to go to the hospital because I was having dizziness where they gave me IV fluids, vitamins and anti sickness meds. Then some tablets to take home. Also I'm actually only having 1-2 bouts of vomiting per day but am struggling to drink/eat much with the intense nausea so don't doubt how you're feeling because some people might feel/be worse than you. But it will depend on your GP/hospital as to what they do, on the Hyperemesis thread some of the women have struggled to get IV fluids if they don't have ketones in their urine but have other symptoms of dehydration and are losing weight.

CJ1990 · 04/03/2018 15:53

Just out of interest - when did / are people announcing their pregnancy to everyone? :) I did after 12 week scan (11weeks 5days) but just interested what everyone else is doing :)

RedRobin7 · 04/03/2018 15:58

@CJ1990 We are very close to our families so we told parents and siblings the day we found out! My 2 best friends know we told them very early on. Once we have had the 12 week scan we will tell the extended family and then once they all know we will tell everyone else!

It's interesting to see how everyone is different. I know a lot of people on here haven't told their parents early on but I can't imagine not telling my mum or sister straight away!!

TheBlindspot · 04/03/2018 16:48

@CJ1990 We told our families and siblings at about 9/10 weeks but no one else until after we'd had our 12 week scan on Monday last week.

Ktn35 · 04/03/2018 16:52

Thanks for the advice rockinrobin 😊

After telling best friends/family who I would want support from if something went wrong, I have been telling people on a need to know basis. Unfortunately I seemed to developed a 'never says no to a drink' reputation prior to getting pregnant so it is fairly obvious now when I pass on the red wine ... nobody is on antibiotics for this long 😬!!!

CJ1990 · 04/03/2018 17:01

@ktn35 that was me with my family 😂that and the ridiculous amounts of caffeine I drink which I was all of a sudden turning down!

RockinRobinn · 04/03/2018 17:47

@CJ1990 we told close family straight away and a few close friends. My DH is so excited I think he tells everybody he meets! So we've told grandparents and aunts and uncles and some cousins as well since then. Also had to tell work because I've been so poorly. But everybody we've told would be supportive and not overly awkward if something went wrong. My FIL wanted to tell everybody at his work place where my DH also used to work but I said no.
Got my scan next week (12 weeks) and DH wants to put a big post on Facebook but I'm not sure how I feel about it tbh.

CJ1990 · 04/03/2018 17:55

@RockinRobinn you not sure about putting it on Facebook?
We aren’t. I’ve been nervous about telling people even after our scan. Not too sure why! Keep thinking it’s too early!

PinkyPromise77 · 04/03/2018 18:21

We told parents and my siblings rafter the early Scan and we told everybody else on Friday after the 12 week Scan.

Everyone is different @CJ1990 so do whatever feels right for you :)

CJ1990 · 04/03/2018 18:24

@PinkyPromise77 thank you :) we have told most people but just can’t relax. Don’t think it’s sank in yet! Keep worrying baby has stopped growing but just need to get over it now :)

RockinRobinn · 04/03/2018 23:46

@CJ1990 yes my DH really wants to I'm my so sure I think because I'm more of an introvert though. Plus my friends who I haven't told yet who'd I really want to know I'd tell before just putting a generalised post out there, so don't feel the need to.
I'm not so worried about things not being ok I think that's partly because my morning sickness is a bit relentless at the moment though so I'm just presuming things are continuing well. Before I was feeling so ill though I think I had more energy to worry!

Scoobysue10 · 05/03/2018 06:02

I am 14wks+4 still on sickness tablets. I have noticed my sickness and nausea come back if I don't drink enough so trying to guzzle the water. I have eaten less last few days and am actually feeling hungry without feeling sick which is a good sign. But will stay on tablets for a wk or so more.
I told family and work earlier on asofa was suffering with sickness and nausea quite bad. I have just announced it this wk to the Facebook world. Lol. So all friends know now.

CJ1990 · 05/03/2018 07:56

Anyone else feel super unpregnant? I’m over 13 week, only put on one pound and have no signs of a hard baby bump :( I’m petite so Thought I’d be showing by now. I keep poking my belly like where the heck is this baby I’ve seen on the monitor! Can’t see where it fits?! Ha

snowy1982 · 05/03/2018 08:57

So crazy dreams out in force last night, dreamt we had a ninja baby. It was the day we took baby home from hospital and I was going to give it a bottle (though IRL I plan to bf) and baby kept disappearing and I would find it on top of a cupboard or walking along the banister railing. Then while we were trying to retrieve baby the dogs kept stealing the bottles and drinking them, very surreal!!

jo0niper · 05/03/2018 10:32

Has anyone's fatigue started to ease yet? I'm exhausted and sleeping all of the time!

PinkyPromise77 · 05/03/2018 10:42

@CJ same! I was literally going to ask if anyone else has no bump yet?
I'm quite slim and petite and 12w + 3 and still no sign of any bump...
