Hi I'm 13 weeks pregnant. My partner of 2 years left me as he can't forgive me for not having an abortion. I can't help bt feel constantly sad all of the time. I just wondered if anyone else is going through this or has been through this who can give me any tips or advice?

Scoobysue10 · 26/02/2018 20:05

Well during my 5-6wks of feeling like crap I took one day off sick. I have been so tired and not been working to my full potential.
All the girls at work know I am pregnant and suffering but have still run to the office moaning about my lack of performance. Really.
Can't wait to leave in the summer now.

81louise · 26/02/2018 20:29

I work for myself and although I feel fine, I am making silly mistakes. I am dyslexic to begin with, but have completely messed up two orders over the weekend :(
Really couldn't do with someone moaning about my lack of performance, I am hard enough on myself

sonypony · 26/02/2018 20:54

Hi all, I'm due mid September. Have HG unfortunately. pinky is it metoclopramide? That's what I'm on. I have no choice as I can't hold down anything without it and was extremely unwell but all the Drs I've seen and what I've read says it's one of the most well known to be safe options. My scan is later than I was expecting at 13+5 so we had a private scan as I was struggling to wait and all looks well which has cheered me up from feeling so ill.

Scoobysue10 · 26/02/2018 21:05

Sonypony I am on that medication. Have been for a few wks now. I tried cutting tablets down to two a day last wk bit was sick again so back up to 3 a day. I wasn't able to keep anything down either. I was really suffering.

Scoobysue10 · 26/02/2018 21:10

81louise. Made me so angry. Hurt in fact as I get on with all the girls I work with and now knowing a few of them have moaned to the office instead of asking me how I am doing and supporting me just gets my back up. I have really been struggling the past 6-7 wks.
Feeling back to my normal self now but it hurts they pretend to be there for you.

cakeanytype · 27/02/2018 03:40

@Carlab1309 😢😢😢😢 hope you are ok ... that's just crappy.. takes two to tango ... think your very brave ..

Hi guys I just wanted a bit of advice I use to do flow energise yoga before I got pregnant just once a week however since I got pregnant and after my miscarriage last year I was scared to do it for the first 12 weeks I know crazy, I did my first class since being pregnant last night it’s not a class designed for pregnant ladies however my yoga teacher is fully aware I’m pregnant and she also use to be a physio. aI’m now worried as I read conflicting info on yoga online about twisting and inversions including downward dog I did small amounts of twisting and a lot of downward dog but my yoga teacher didn’t say anything and I thought yoga was ok does anyone do yoga? Or have any advice? Just to add I felt fine after no pain or discomfort.

Fruitcocktail6 · 27/02/2018 09:32

I do yoga but frankly I've been too sick during the first trimester to continue with any form of exercise. I very much hope it will ease off soon and I will continue with yoga as long as i can, just make sure the teacher knows or do pregnancy classes

Helen290 · 27/02/2018 09:49

@Fruitcocktail6 I am the same I have had terrible nausea/ sickness I still am but evenings are better which is why I have started to go, my teacher is aware but I'm planning on joining prenatal one instead I think.

PinkyPromise77 · 27/02/2018 09:55

I didn’t think I was that bad @bitzy12 to join the thread. I know some ladies can’t keep anything down and are sick every 10 mins. I’m not that bad I don’t think just have times of the day when I’m sick a few times in a row etc.

@sonypony I have been prescribed Ondanestron but it’s designed for chemo patients and only can be taken for 5 days so will continue with Cyclizine and if it gets really bad then I will try one of the new tablets. I’m at home chilling today which is rather nice :)

@PinkyPromise77 I need your HR advice please! I told my manager my scan date and that it's at 8:50am so I will have to start late. She said this is okay as long as I work my set hours still. Basically saying I need to stay longer. I'm happy to work later if there's work to be done but I'm sure I'm entitled to the time off and don't need to make it up? Also have to say I'm exhausted at the end of my usual hours. I normally start at 8am so starting at 10am means staying 2 hours later in the evening!

Ktn35 · 27/02/2018 17:45

Might be useful ... you should get the time off with no questions asked!

PinkyPromise77 · 27/02/2018 18:58

@RedRobin7 No, they definitely can't ask you to make that time up. You are allowed reasonable time off for appointments xxx

Need some advice - normally have two slices of toast for breakfast as that is generally the only thing I can stomach (I used to be a big cereal eater but can't face that now!) last two days, as soon as I've finished my toast, I've had to rush to the toilet to throw up... now I'm confused as to what to try for breakfast! Whether to keep going with toast or trial something else - maybe eat later? Or an apple or something?! Please help!

RedRobin7 · 27/02/2018 19:48

@PinkyPromise77 @Ktn35 Thank you! My manager is not based in this country so maybe they have different rules in Germany. I think it's time to talk to my HR dept in the UK.

@greeny506 How soon after you wake up do you eat breakfast? I find on days I go into the office I wake up and eat breakfast within 10 mins of being awake and I'm fine. Days that I work from home I tend to lie in bed and ignore the fact I have to get up so by the time I eat I've been awake 30-60 minutes and this is when I feel bad after eating. Maybe try something else too. Cereal I'm okay with but porridge I'm not. I've also found I feel better if I have a small glass of OJ with breakfast. I haven't actually been sick but I end up so queasy I have a bucket next to me until it passes. I'm 9+3 and still wondering if the day I'm going to be sick is still around the corner!

greeny506 · 27/02/2018 19:59

@RedRobin7 I'm normally eating breakfast within 15 mins of being up. I did try having juice a couple of weeks ago but found this made me feel more queasy. I'm also 9+4 and had my booking appt today - midwife said nausea should be passing soon so 🤞.... tomorrow I might just try one piece of toast and an apple maybe!

polkadotpixie · 27/02/2018 20:34

@greeny506 The only thing I can stomach for breakfast is Weetabix. If I don't eat first thing I find it much worse

snowy1982 · 27/02/2018 20:43

@redrobin7 hopefully this isn’t the case for you, but I am now 12w + 4 and only started actually vomiting last week. I had been having nausea all along, some days constantly but mostly only in the evenings, then last week it really ramped up, have had bad constant nausea for the last week and then been vomiting most days as well. Am hoping it is a final surge before things calm down. My boob tenderness has really increased as well

Helen290 · 27/02/2018 20:51

@RedRobin7 @snowy1982 I have been the same I am 13 weeks + 3 and I have had nausea and sickness since week 6 and for some reason this week has been so much worse no idea why, I'm lucky that I'm sick before I have breakfast so by the time I eat I'm ok and it tends to make me feel better however this week it hasn't only for like 15 mins, I have gone off most things but I do find orange juice helps 🙂.

Helen290 · 27/02/2018 20:52

Also my boobs have been more tender.

RedRobin7 · 27/02/2018 21:29

@Helen290 @snowy1982 Could be wishful thinking that I've escaped the sickness then! I do have a horrible lump in my throat which happens often and disgusting taste in my mouth but so far been managing. The tiredness is the worst bit for me. I'm lying on my bed but need to get up to dry my hair but feel too tired to move!!

Helen290 · 28/02/2018 07:00

@RedRobin7 yeh fatigue is horrible I still have it now but it was a lot worse around 10 weeks , I still go bed at like 8!! lol 😂

Scoobysue10 · 28/02/2018 08:17

Sorry to hear you ladies are still suffering.
I am 13+6 and still on my sickness tablets.
Have been more or less back to my bubbly self and had more energy. Although not sleeping properly at night. Wake up about 2am to wee then sleep on and off till about 5-6am then awake.
My skin has improved and hair not as greasy and boobs not hurting as much and not as swollen. Can't believe I am 14wks tomorrow. The first 3 mths went so slow. Have my 20wk scan for Friday 13th April of all days lol.
Have my consultant appointment in 2 wks and will ask about a possible water birth.
