@niclw sorry you had a scare but glad your scan was fine and you got to see your wee bean

Scoobysue10 · 26/02/2018 06:47

Niclw glad you got to have a scan and see baby.

I have had a terrible headache since yesterday morning.

Had a crap nights sleep last night and still have headache and another 12hr shift at work. Not good at all.

Helen290 · 26/02/2018 08:11

@npn1989 how do you PM on here?? I would like to join the private group please already had my 12 week scan I am 13 weeks + 2 🙂

Helen290 · 26/02/2018 08:17

@TheBlindspot hi I have sent you a PM about the private FB group let me know if you don't receive it 🙂 I worked out how to do it lol I think.

Helen290 · 26/02/2018 08:18

@niclw wow that must of been a scare it's good they scanned you straight away glad everything is ok 🙂.

PinkyPromise77 · 26/02/2018 10:52

Oh @niclw sorry to hear you had a scare but glad all is ok and you were seen straight away for the scan too.

I have my 12 week scan this Friday and slightly panicking... hoping all is ok... I'm telling myself or at least trying that all this puking is a sign all is good... I mean there needs to be something positive in feeling like crap when your anti-sickness pills not working :)

Hey guys. Been quiet mainly just hopping the next week or so cam hurry up got my scan on the 9th so I'll be 12+4. I'm craving a pepperoni pizza. Is that safe to eat? Some people say yes some people say no.

Hope all is well for everyone X

snowy1982 · 26/02/2018 12:09

@pinkypromise, my 12w scan is on Thursday this week. I thought since I had a scan less than a fortnight ago i’d be a bit calmer about it but i’m really anxious

Helen290 · 26/02/2018 12:36

Ok I am just over 13 weeks + 2 and my sickness is worse today!!! I thought it was going to get better 😫😫 it was over the weekend then bam today I have felt sick all morning and was sick this am 🙈.

PinkyPromise77 · 26/02/2018 12:48

Good luck for Thursday @Snowy! I am just worrying this is all not real and there is no way all would be going so well the first time etc... I only seen a little blob at 7 weeks and it's constant worry if all is going ok.... am I doing the right things. Is my sickness affecting the baby as I'm not eating enough and good things... sigh...

I am really struggling at work... don't want to be seen as a slacker but I think I would really need a few days at home just sleeping and trying to work whenever I have a better moments and no struggle sitting by my desk... It's not easy to get appointment with my GP and I don't really know how bad I have to be to get signed off if you know what I mean... it's such a tricky time you don't want to be seen like you are taking advantage of being pregnant but also I have never felt so bad and tired in my life so not sure how far I should push it and try to get on with it...

Thank you for your messages this morning. I am trying to take it easy today (well as easy as possible with a class of teenagers in front of me). However, I'm done teaching for today so should be easier from now on.

Good luck to everyone with scans this week x

polkadotpixie · 26/02/2018 13:41

@PinkyPromise77 If you're not well enough for work then take the time off you need! I had 3 days off in week 8 because I was just too ill & I don't feel guilty. If you were ill because of a virus/bug etc you'd take time off so don't feel bad

snowy1982 · 26/02/2018 13:47

I agree @pinkypromise, take the time off if you need it, you are growing a little human, it takes its toll on the body.

I am lucky enough to have not needed time off, I am also lucky enough to have, within reason, relatively flexible working hours so if I need to leave early I can or if I am a bit sluggish in the morning I don’t have to worry about rushing into work

Ktn35 · 26/02/2018 14:01

Hi,
I have taken a day off today after a night throwing up. I showered and ate some toast and then threw up again and my partner got cross and told me I couldn't possibly go in. He was right. I just feel like nobody will believe me and think I am slacking. I never normally have time off so it goes against the grain. But you are right. If you don't feel well enough to work you shouldn't go in. We are all being very hard on ourselves.

I have also changed hospital as I decided the mean midwife at my booking appointment was indicative of something. I spent Saturday in tears about her - that should not be! The new hospital were lovely and booked me right in with an earlier scan than the original one offered. So hopefully more positive from not on. Don't suppose anyone else on here is in East London?!

PinkyPromise77 · 26/02/2018 14:18

thanks guys! I may speak to my director today and ask if I can go home earlier as I just threw up all of my soup I had for lunch... which was so far the only thing I was kind of able to eat...

I know we are so hard on ourselves and also as I work in HR I try to be even more strict and think 20 times before I decide to take a day sick lol!

Good idea. I think if we throw up at work and can't keep any food down we are too sick to work. I have battled through some awful days and I feel I need a day to recover from them! I'm going to have to tell my manager tomorrow though but it'll probably be better once he knows.

I reckon if men had the babies then maternity leave would begin at conception and be fully pay throughout!

Baby2018 · 26/02/2018 14:39

Hi guys due Sept 25th have awful nausea and tiredness at 10 weeks so I'm guessing we may have a girl!

Ktn35 · 26/02/2018 14:40

Sorry that wasn't a slight against my manger who is lovely! Just a general musing!

Helen290 · 26/02/2018 14:52

@PinkyPromise77 I agree I had a few days off when my sickness was really bad sometimes you need it 🙂.

Rockerfeller · 26/02/2018 16:18

Hi please can I join?

Found out I was pregnant last night, confirmed this morning and sent to the EPU this afternoon as I had chemo that was meant to render me infertile. We were planning on doing IVF later on this year.

However I've not felt right for weeks and today it was confirmed I'm 11 weeks pregnant and due 16th September

Ktn35 · 26/02/2018 16:23

Wow congratulations!

Ktn35 · 26/02/2018 16:24

You have also managed to escape most of the hideous first trimester anxiety and general hideousness :) have you had a scan yet? X

splendidsqueak7 · 26/02/2018 16:51

Hey folks. I’ve stayed away from here as I was so anxious, and worried that there wasn’t really anything growing! I got so worked up that DH took me for a privatw scan - here’s our Pickle! Measured at 9w4d - 10w tomorrow. I didn’t realise it would look so human at this stage!

Hi all so I went to GP and she signed me off for a week. I still feel bad about it and will probably go back in on thursday but at least with a note they will know I’m not making things up. She also prescribed me stronger anti sickness meds but I will treat it as a last resort option as they are really strong and used mainly for patients after chemo... 😳
