Anyone else had blood spotting ... I'm 8 weeks 4 days ... had a scan last week which was perfect ... now I'm spotting blood 😢

Helen290 · 15/02/2018 11:59

Thanks guys 🙂

bitzy12 · 15/02/2018 11:59

@cakeanytype I have been spotting on and off, I had a water infection but they never said that was the reason why. I've had 3 scans in total now. I just ring my gp everytime and let them decide what action to take. If it gets worse, just go straight to a&e x

I’ve had a bit of spotting. I have a friend who is on her third healthy pregnancy and I asked her advice - she spotted regularly all the way through all three pregnancies, she hardly even worries now when it happens because she expects it. I know it’s so hard not to worry but so many people spot, and apparently 8 weeks is when the placenta is getting into gear and that can cause spotting x

Kocerhan3 · 15/02/2018 14:14

Feeling a little down today, had very frequent spotting and bleeding past few days and whilst at this stage they've said it probably is placenta adjusting as baby is growing significantly at this point, still very worrying as I can see others have felt it too - plus they signed me off work for rest of today and tomorrow! Not for me! What's a girl to do... wishing these months away which I feel I shouldn't with my first, should be exciting - I just feel overly anxious...

Think I'm 9+weeks based on early scan or nearly 11 weeks based on LMP. Had no spotting or pain, but really struggling to get out of bed in the mornings to the point where I've been late for work everyday. Today I nearly called in sick just because I couldn't face the day. I'm feeling quite down and unmotivated. Anyone feeling the same or got any tips? I'm already on antidepressants and have a perinatal psychiatry appointment on 2nd March (as routine because of my history). In other news, we've scheduled a harmony test for a couple of weeks (just think it would be easier to know for sure - 99% sure at least).

niclw · 15/02/2018 18:13

@Helen290 Congratulations. That's fantastic news x

PoodleDoodleCaboodle · 15/02/2018 18:23

Congrats Helen :)

I received a call from the surgery today asking me to come in give another urine sample as my last one returned 'borderline'. When I asked what for, the receptionist said she didn't know and had been asked by the doctor to pass the message on and for me to come in for a repeat. Does anyone know what this might mean? I've been struggling to keep food/fluids down and have this morning been prescribed anti sickness medication but the Dr didn't mention anything then.

Ktn35 · 15/02/2018 18:46

Wow Helen! That's an amazing image! They must have great equipment there! It's so nice to see people reach there 12 weeks in the September group - I'm due on 29th so it still seems an age away until my scan on the 21st March! Hopefully it'll fly by! Xxxxxxxx

Helen290 · 15/02/2018 20:36

Thanks guys 😊 I'm very pleased with the pictures I got, don't have another scan tho for 9 weeks!! Long wait till the next I have a midwife appointment in March tho.

Kocerhan3 · 15/02/2018 21:54

So after worrying about some spotting I booked in for an early scan today - just got back and the scan showed no embryo, just the sac - meaning I'm less than 6 weeks ..... if my dates are correct I should be 8 but at the least I haven't had a period in jan so should be around 6 minimum... been referee to GP as urgent as is possible mc. I can't stop crying, I'm scared and worried, very confused.... this took over a year and a half to happen.... why me? Sad could it just be I'm way earlier than thought?? I've had no pain or discomfort... please help x

cakeanytype · 16/02/2018 05:21

Congratulations Helen XX

It's such a scary time ! It's so hard to relax when anything happens spotting , scans that arnt wht we expect.. try to relax hun I know that's harder to do than say ...

Ever time I go to the toilet I check the tissue and just want to cry ... touch wood my spotting has gone for now ... now I just pray n think wht will b will b xx

snowy1982 · 16/02/2018 06:06

@helen290, what did they date you at in the scan and was it abdominal or vaginal. That pic is just so clear Smile

Marriageoftrueminds · 16/02/2018 07:26

kocerhan I’m sorry this is happening to you, how stressful. Are you going to your EPAU? I would call them ASAP if you haven’t already x

Helen290 · 16/02/2018 07:49

@snowy1982 abdominal scan all of mine have been abdominal they told me they rarely ever do internal at 12 weeks as it should be clear enough to see externally apparently and I think it also depends on how big you are generally, without sounding rude a larger lady might need an internal but not always.
They dated me at exactly the dates I have 11 + 5 which I hoped for as my 8 week scan was exact as well, it was moving so much tho which I didn't expect after just seeing a bean on all the other scans it was amazing to actually see a baby what looked like a baby and seeing it's arms and hands move was amazing. I can't tell you how scared I was I just burst out crying when I saw it it's our first and it's felt like so long we have wanted this, I know it's like a 1% chance things can go wrong now but I don't think I'll stop worrying my husband said now I can relax but I want I know I want I'm already slightly worrying again but it's nice to actually be able to tell people.

snowy1982 · 16/02/2018 08:08

@helen290 I had a scan this morning as well, dating me at exactly 11 weeks (which i am although early scans had me a day or 2 behind my dates). Your pics are so much clearer than mine but MW said the monitor is a bit grainy. She said everything looked perfect and baby was waving at us. I started crying too, it’s just such an amazing thing to see for the first time

Helen290 · 16/02/2018 08:13

@snowy1982 that's brilliant news!!, I thought you didn't have your 12 week scan for another week?

snowy1982 · 16/02/2018 08:22

@helen290 I don’t, official scan is on 1st, but before the appointments came through last week and I thought i’d still be waiting ages, I arranged another one at the IUI clinic. Thought about cancelling it, but we have a family wedding next week so want to tell some immediate family before hand (so they can help me cover my lack of alcohol consumption) so went ahead with this mornings scan for a bit more reassurance before we tell
