Oh the dreaded sickness. It says in the books you should start to feel better. I had the same with my 2nd pregnancy. Got to about 9-11 wks and sickness got really bad. But then totally went after a couple of wks.
So fingers crossed for us all that are suffering. Have you considered tablets. Best thing I did. But it was either tablets or hospital.
Currently lying in bed hoping to feel little one move as sometimes I do whenjoy lying in bed. It's such a wonderful feeling.

martinedg · 14/02/2018 09:18

Hi everyone, congrats on everyone's scans.
My midwife called to book me in for first appointment on 5th March(I will be 11 weeks). I haven't had any discussion on early scans. Did you pay privately for these or are they meant to be offered to you?

This is all very confusing and haven't quite sunk in yet apart from the horrible sickness.

I try and eat little and often. Salted popcorn and balsamic vinegar on leaves seems to be my only hope apart from oranges in the morning.

Ktn35 · 14/02/2018 10:43

@martinege you have to book an early scan privately. I found d one on Groupon for £33 but think they are normally about £50? Not sure if that is just London though 😩 you will get offered on on NHS if they are worried xx

Kocerhan3 · 14/02/2018 15:48

Hi there, very new to all this - found out we're pregnant a little over a week ago but can't remember exact dates of last period... I've estimated we're around 7/8 weeks - I handed in forms to apply for midwife last week too but still no ones got back to me, whereas I've seen on here and other places that heartbeat scans and all sorts have been done at this stage.... I don't know if I'm being impatient but I really want to know if the tiny thing is okay etc and it's making me so frustrated. How long should I leave it before pestering the doctors surgery?!

Marriageoftrueminds · 14/02/2018 15:53

Hi kocerhan, congrats on your bfp! It’s very early for the midwife to be getting back to you yet, you don’t get a scan until 12 weeks on NHS unless there is a concern (bleeding, pain or a previous problem witn a pregnancy). You could always chase them next week but they’ll habe a long list of new mums to work through! Good luck, hope you hear from them soon.

Pregnantandfierce · 14/02/2018 15:54

Eeeek having my scan this evening. I’m full of cold though and my nausea is vile at the moment. I look and feel like death warmed up. Where is this illusive pregnancy glow people?! @Kocer - I wouldn’t worry too much, you’ll get booked in soon I’m sure. Getting an early pregnancy scan isn’t necessary unless you’re particularly worried. I’ve had 3 mc so I am nervous about this pregnancy.

PinkyPromise77 · 14/02/2018 16:50

Oh wow @Scoobysue10 can you feel the baby move already? How far along are you?

@martinedg and @Kocerhan3 you can get your early scans before week 12 only privately or like marriage says only if there is concern on NHS. Prices generally vary from £50 - £80 depending where you are having it done etc. I had my early one done at 6 w +4 and the lady doing the scan said we can't hear the heartbeat yet as it's not safe but we could see it beating on the scan.

Just got my date for my scan and it’s for when I’ll be 15+3!! Need to ring tomorrow and change it. I can’t wait that long.
It’s very exciting for all of you who have their 12 week scans coming up soon!

Scoobysue10 · 14/02/2018 17:58

Pinkypromise77

I am 11wks +5 and started feeling baby move at around 10 wks.
It's not usual to feel it this soon. But this is baby number 3 for me so will feel it earlier.

Kocerhan3 · 14/02/2018 18:48

@Marriageoftrueminds @PinkyPromise77 @Pregnantandfierce

Thanks and thanks again, definitely re assuring to have a group of people on here with advice - I've just turned 22 and only told my mum and partner so feel like I'm lacking advice/guidance with all this right now - though chocolate has been a great listener!! ;) congrats to everyone else on here too with scans and journeys

Marriageoftrueminds · 14/02/2018 19:03

Ah @kocerhan3 we all understand the excitement and fear!! I’m sure it’ll all be fine but there’s no harm in chasing them up, I had to chase my midwife appointment and I had it yesterday, I’m nearly 8 weeks so around now is a fine time although I think loads of people have it later on. Also worth noting that when you see the midwife they won’t be able to actually tell you if the baby is progressing well - only a scan can do that. As PP have said an early private scan can be an reassuring option for many (without knowing your financial circumstances obviously, but it’s not as expensive as you might think) x

Pregnantandfierce · 14/02/2018 19:55

I’ve had my scan, bean has a heartbeat. Feeling masses of relief. 8 week pregnant according to the sonographer eek! I stopped off at John Lewis to buy some chocolates (for the baby of course) and will hopefully have a decent nights sleep tonight. Wil upload the scan photo when I get home. Thanks for your continued support.

Marriageoftrueminds · 14/02/2018 20:24

Guys I’ve just been to the loo and I have one spot of red blood on my underwear. I am terrified I’m going to lose another one. We only saw the heartbeat on the scan yesterday. Don’t know if I can take this Sad

Kocerhan3 · 14/02/2018 20:30

@Marriageoftrueminds it'll all be okay. I can't imagine how worried you feel, but sending positive thoughts and wishes - you and little bean will be absolutely fine, don't worry yourself lovely xxx

snowy1982 · 14/02/2018 20:37

@marriageoftruebloods, try not to panic as chances are things will be ok, but contact your midwife of ring NHS direct if you don’t have midwife yet. See if you can get another scan arranged to reassure you

PinkyPromise77 · 14/02/2018 20:37

15w + 3 rdm10 sounds really late... definitely call them. I managed to change mine for exactly 12 weeks as we have big friends and family gathering so wanted to announce then! 2 weeks and we will be able to tell everyone... nervous and excited at the same time...

Scoobysue wow! The midwife said that I may not feel anything up until 20 weeks and you can already feel something now! Amazing! How does it feel? :)

Whoop whoop Pregnantandfierce so happy all went well with the scan :)

Marriageoftrueminds try to stay calm hun. Could be just random spot. Keep an eye if any more appears and call GP/Midwife if it does x fingers crossed it’s just one off random spot x

Thanks guys. No sign at all of any more yet. I do have quite a large corpus luteum cyst which got a thorough poking during the ultra sound yesterday and was quite uncomfortable afterwards. Maybe it’s from that, fingers crossed!

Pregnantandfierce · 14/02/2018 21:49

Thanks @pinky - such a relief. Here is bean!

martinedg · 14/02/2018 21:59

PoodleDoodleCaboodle · 14/02/2018 22:08

When will the nausea and sickness end ladies? Im starving but can't face the thought of eating or if I do, I have to force it to stay down. Worried I'm not eating enough :'(

Loonyluna16 · 15/02/2018 07:02

Thought I'd gotten away with sickness... NOPE sickness all day yesterday and last night and still lying dry heaving... this is awful Envy

Scoobysue10 · 15/02/2018 08:47

Pinkypromise77
I didn't feel anything till about 20 wks with my first.
Felt my 2nd around 16 wks.
With them I felt like little butterflies feeling first.
This one I feel little pops is the only wayou I can describe it.
I did have a butterfly feeling earlier in wk.
It's a wonderful feeling when you feel them move inside you.

PinkyPromise77 · 15/02/2018 08:56

oh Loony and Poodle sorry to hear you are both suffering... I have a couple moments of sickness in a day usually in the afternoon and one at night/late evening :/

Scoobysue I wonder how it will feel as it's slightly freaky having something moving inside hehehe so I take your word for it at the moment that it's an awesome feeling :)
