Just booked an early scan for Friday! This week is going to drag!

rosegeorgia21 · 05/02/2018 12:24

@Helen290 it's not bad pain really it's just a bit uncomfortable when I walk or touch it, really feels like a bruise. I dunno think I'm just over thinking it! Still feel like shit so probably all ok 😂😂 xx

snowy1982 · 05/02/2018 12:45

Trying to follow up with maternity unit about my self referral, an over 9 weeks, sent form in 4 weeks ago and still no letter about appointments. Well turns out the maternity unit is as impossible as my GP to get talking to, phone had just been ringing out all morning (once it was engaged)

Helen290 · 05/02/2018 15:11

@snowy1982 still no appointment that's insane my midwife is really hard to get hold of, can you leave a message?

snowy1982 · 05/02/2018 15:27

@helen290, rang the number on the self referral form about 20 times today, doesn’t seem to be an answering machine to leave a message. One time it was engaged so I kept hanging up and ringing back instantly, stayed engaged for a couple tries then went back to ringing out

snowy1982 · 05/02/2018 15:28

Getting really pissed off about it all now and anxious about general standard of care

Scoobysue10 · 05/02/2018 17:01

Really getting fed up of the nauseou now.
It's worse in the morning and this time onwards.
Was sick twice before I left for work.
Just forced some dinner down. I just want to enjoy food again with feeling sick.

Ktn35 · 05/02/2018 17:07

That's so annoying. Can you just show up there? Perhaps call the central hospital number and ask to be put through? They might have different extensions? X

Ktn35 · 05/02/2018 17:09

I have been feeling nauseous all day and dizzy at times. It's seems to all be starting this week 😩 I'm 6+2 now so it is about right I guess?! I have booked an early scan for next Monday as I need reassurance and having no contact with any medical professionals is stressing me out!

Helen290 · 05/02/2018 17:12

@Scoobysue10 I am feeling the same nausea all day not been sick tho just feeling yucky and now I have a nasty cough and cold 😷, so feeling even worse!, will be nice not to feel sick.

Helen290 · 05/02/2018 17:14

@snowy1982 speak to your GP maybe they can do something that's insane to wait that long I would be kicking up a right fuss lol but I am more fiery these days lol

Helen290 · 05/02/2018 17:15

@rosegeorgia21 it's probably nothing you might of pulled something it's so easily done, the fact you still have symptoms is good.

snowy1982 · 05/02/2018 17:43

@helen290 where I am it’s impossible to speak to a GP. I’ll keep trying the maternity unit for next couple days and see where it gets me.

Not feeling too good this evening actually, have a pressure like feeling in my lower abdomen, could just be bloating but have a bad feeling it’s something else

CrabbyPatty · 05/02/2018 17:47

I've finally experienced the tiredness. I'm generally a tired person but this is something else! I could barely speak today at work and whenever people asked about my weekend I couldn't remember what I'd done. Had my bloods checked at my booking appointment last Thurs. I'm assuming they'll contacte if I had anaemia?

Hardheadedwoman39 · 05/02/2018 18:11

I have nausea, exhaustion and today sharp twinges - stretching I think... it's all getting a bit much and I properly felt like crying, as some of you have said I just want to enjoy food again!

I've booked a private scan for tomorrow - I'll be 9 wks 5 days. We're going on holiday abroad for ten days and I wanted to know all was ok before going.

Why does this stage feel SOOO long?

niclw · 05/02/2018 18:39

In a way I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this tired. This morning when I needed to get up it felt like I was trying to make myself climb Everest. Decided to tell my line manager today. She had a baby just over a year ago and she said she'd support me with my job while I'm so tired. Was also helpful as she strongly recommended the nursery round the corner from our school and is going to give me loads of girlie things if I have a girl too. Am really glad I told her x

Helen290 · 05/02/2018 18:59

@snowy1982 I have had on and off pressure, twinges, slight cramping the whole way through when I was 8 weeks I had lots of this I think it's stretching etc, if it's not sharp pain with bleeding I would try not to worry.

snowy1982 · 05/02/2018 19:13

@helen290, i’ve had plenty of cramping and twinges but this feeling of pressure and tenderness is new, so as always with something new I panic.

It’s almost like i’m bloated but not totally the same

radio4junkie · 05/02/2018 20:15

Reading all your posts is so reassuring!! I feel the same! @Hardheadedwoman39 this feels like forever I’m 10 weeks +5 and can’t believe there’s a full two weeks till my scan
@niclw glad it went well with your manager she sounds lovely! I’m feeling that awful tiredness as well- I went to bed at 7pm twice last week 😴
I’ve had a lot of nausea but not been sick, felt super emotional and basically avoided as many people as I could in January without being rude 😂 starting to feel slightly better but absolutely freezing all the time and shattered 😫 it will be worth it though!!!! X

fluffedupferretonsteroids · 05/02/2018 20:44

What’s the thoughts on hair dye in pregnancy? Is it safe?

Kiztok · 06/02/2018 08:52

I think the risk is more to do with you having a reaction to the dye due to all the changes going on, so best to have a patch test before hand
From what I've read it's no issue for the baby

snowy1982 · 06/02/2018 08:57

Yeah, my reading seemed to say the amount of chemicals absorbed was so minimal that there really wasn’t much risk, but noting comes out and says definitively that it’s ok. Saying that I know plenty of people who continued to dye their hair all sorts of colours during pregnancy and they all seemed ok

Helen290 · 06/02/2018 09:11

@snowy1982 I know lots of peoples that dye their hair in pregnancy it's fine, if you look online about these things that are so over the top I read you can't even use deodorant or perfume in pregnancy!!! 😂which is insane so I would say it's fine .

PinkyPromise77 · 06/02/2018 09:11

@snowy1982 I had my hair dyed couple of weeks ago (glossing on the roots) my hairdresser said it's perfectly safe. The only thing is that due to hormonal changes the colour may end up looking slightly different in the first and last trimester.

I would always suggest you ask your hairdresser about the particular dye you want to use just in case but I would think it should be fine.

How is everyone doing? I just came back from a weekend away and t was soooo hard not to tell people why I'm not my usual bubbly self and was feeling so exhausted all the time so felt like I'm no fun at all LOL!

Having constant nausea starting in the afternoon but still haven't been sick. Living on mint tea and sparkling water... odd combination :) I also think oh maybe if I eat sth I will feel better so unfortunately can't stop eating waaaaaaah!
