Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

Hello ladies. We've also got a thread for Sept babies in the ante natal club topic if anyone wants to join there too? Lovely seeing all the bfps!

snowy1982 · 01/01/2018 20:18

I made up my last big bottle for the fridge and have no more left after that and my groceries aren’t ordered until Wednesday Sad back to work tomorrow so will have to buy a bottle to keep in there too

Pinkslink17 · 01/01/2018 21:21

Glad to see so many new comers and some familiar names! Sorry I've been away so little activity on here. No symptoms from me other than being tired all the time! I'm yet to tell anyone at all! Thinking of telling parents this weekend at 5 weeks and close friends at 7-8 weeks! Although I think my friends may have noticed last night as I was at a party and they noticed I wasn't drinking, I just claimed I didn't like any of the drinks and had 2 cokes and pretended they had vodka in Confused

I had a thirsty feeling earlier. I always get it first thing in the morning during pregnancy, down a glass of water then throw it back up again! Not quite at that point yet though!

Is anyone else really bloated?! I feel like I look a good 5 months in not 4 weeks!! I know it's normal and remember in previous pregnancies but my god it's an annoying symptom to have so early!

snowy1982 · 02/01/2018 05:53

Looking for a little reassurance, but also straight talking, this morning. POAS again this morning, still BFP and result came up within 30 secs, BUT test line was fainter than other mornings. Only thing keeping me calm is the fact that control line was also fainter than on other tests. Is it possible that the test is just a bit crap even though it’s same brand as all the others i’ve taken, is it possible to get a dodgy one thrown in?

Fia256 · 02/01/2018 07:11

@snowy1982 if the control line is also lighter I'd try not to worry for now. The best thing to do is just step away from the tests although I'm hardly one to talk for that, and I know it's much easier said than done! I did another clear blue today and still got 1-2 so feeling a bit gutted it's still not gone up! Just got to try and not worry about it

snowy1982 · 02/01/2018 07:24

@fia256 you’re right, I should definitely step away from them, I think I am just a little addicted to seeing BFP, TTC 3+ years and never seen one until last Friday so I think I am making up for lost time. Calling my clinic today to arrange early scan, BFP came from IUI and the clinic like to do an early scan before signing me off to normal NHS procedures so hopefully i’ll feel a bit better after I get that all in place. Think we might need to set up a POAS A Smile

Fia256 · 02/01/2018 07:29

I know the feeling a little bit, I've had 4 losses before this pregnancy so I also feel like I'm obsessing seeing the lines, especially as I'm desperate for them to go darker. I've just had to talk myself out of going to boots before work this morning to get another frer now after the 1-2 result! But I just know if I did, and it was lighter than the last one I did a few days ago then I wouldn't be able to concentrate on anything and will over panic! It's so hard though!

snowy1982 · 02/01/2018 07:33

So sorry for your previous losses fia256, I can understand your POAS addiction as well.

I’m back to work today and it’s a really busy time of year for me work wise so i’m hoping once I get in and settled I will be distracted from what is or isnt happening inside me

Mrs2812 · 02/01/2018 09:06

I rang the doctors today and they said ring back at 8 weeks and I will need to fill a form out for the midwife is that the same with everyone else? I thought they would see me sooner to check i really am pregnant haha

FluffySavage · 02/01/2018 09:37

No form to fill out here. My GP surgery just gave me a leaflet about the ante natal screening tests, a copy of Emma's diary and the number for the midwife appointment line. I just had to call and book my booking in appointment. Was fairly simple - took a while to get through though.

snowy1982 · 02/01/2018 10:24

So rang my clinic this morning and have early scan booked in for 15th Jan, then they (fingers crossed) sign me off to normal NHS protocol. Nurse wins the award for most excited about the BFP, she squealed down the phone at me.

She has confused me re dating though. I was classifying myself as 4 weeks exactly today, she has me at 5 weeks on Friday. I got my date by using first day LMP but nurse seems to be using date of conception/IUI and going 2 weeks back from that. In the grand scheme of things I guess it doesn’t really matter, it’s only a couple of days, but just had me wondering

dingdongdigeridoo · 02/01/2018 11:13

Never give your details to bloody Emma’s Diary! My DH signed up with them to get free stuff and slightly misspelled his name on purpose. They sent us one free nappy and a sachet of washing powder, and for years afterwards we got an avalanche of junk mail to his mis-spelled name. Everything under the sun from life insurance to local baby photographers, with multiple letters a day in the early days. Luckily we moved and escaped the raft of paper.

Fia256 · 02/01/2018 11:16

Couldn't resist the urge to go and throw another tenner away this morning, but I'm glad I did now as it's put my mind at rest since falling down the stairs! 14dpo today.

I will also get a scan at 6w, although thinking I might put it off till 7w. Then I've decided I'll pay for a private on around 8/9w as there's no way I'll be able to relax for those 6 weeks inbetween!

I don’t blame you at all fia Smile. Am tempted to go buy a CB with date indicator but don’t know if that will push me over the edge of my obsession. Still have some FRER at home.

FluffySavage · 02/01/2018 11:22

Dingdongdigerido, haha I've seen loads of posts saying the same thing! I was thinking of setting up a new email to use for it and putting in a fake phone number and address? Not sure the fake details would work though (or if it's worth it for the Argos vouchers).

Fia256 · 02/01/2018 11:31

Agree with the Emma's diary thing too! I've got a second email address which I don't use so I'll be putting that one down. I had a mmc at 20w last time, and it took unsubscribing 5 times and 3 angry emails to them until they finally stopped sending me updates on my pregnancy etc! They are terrible!

LostMyBaubles · 02/01/2018 11:49

Fia that's good you're mind is at rest now

I'm not testing again
That line was good enough lol

I didn't retest with my other 3 so fx all will be ok

I've just rang through for midwife appt. Had to leave a message lol

I was going all hot and cold last night, then couldn't sleep and the night before I had really strong butterflies in my stomach! Was such a lovely feeling

Went grocery shopping and the 1 thing I wanted I couldn't find.
Ah well.

samb1979 · 02/01/2018 12:11

I found out on the 28th December after ttc for 4 years! Still being cautious though as I'm having a niggling pain in left hand side (no bleed though) and have been to see the doctor and said it can be normal, but to keep and eye to make sure it doesn't get worse! Everything crossed I see my little bear on 3rd September. Congratulations to you all 😘

Fia256 · 02/01/2018 12:15

I haven't contacted the drs yet. I feel like I darent! As I'm not sure if I need to see the dr for the early referral for scan, or if the midwife will do it. I feel a bit of a fool having to ask the receptionist all those questions lol

LostMyBaubles · 02/01/2018 12:23

Fia the sooner your ring and ask the quicker you will find out lol

I'm classed as high risk pregnancy as im fat (to be frank lol), have kidney problems, high risk for pre eclampsia.
Will be put on daily blood thinning injections
And prob put on high dose folic acid and iron

Fia256 · 02/01/2018 12:35

I've just given them a ring, and they said either ring up tomorrow (nightmare to get through) or queue up before 8, so that's what I'll be doing! I'm also high risk, I had pre eclampsia after birth with my ds, and had high blood pressure but never got to pe with dd. I'd imagine my later loss this year will probably factor into the risk assessment too! It would be boring if it was easy hey!Grin

MrsBee5817 · 02/01/2018 12:45

Midwife contacted me this morning!!
Arranged my booking in appointment for 9 days time, which I will be nearly 7 weeks.
So exciting.
She said about an hour long appointment talking about all things medical etc.
So that's the start of this journey I guess!
How exciting!
Xx

LostMyBaubles · 02/01/2018 13:09

Fia I didn't know you could get it after birth.

The only thing on worried about is delivery as I hemmorage a lot. With youngest wasn't as bad as they were prepared and had a very good plan in place so fx some goes this time too

My gums are still hurting a little

snowy1982 · 02/01/2018 13:29

So I couldn’t resist and did another test Blush. Got the CB indicator so I think I am as reassured as I can be at this stage, it’s reading 2-3 weeks since conception which is spot on. Think that’s me done with POAS (until my next freak out). Need to just try to relax and let the little bean get nice and comfy in there.

Just noticed I can do self referral to midwife as well, trying to decide whether to do it now or after my early scan at fertility clinic
