There was a thread here on babies due in May but for some reason it’s been closed. Anyone is due then?

I'm absolutely raging!! My mother in law has been saying behind our back to ds that she and FIL don't like the name we have picked out for the baby and she hopes we change it. We hadn't intentionally announced the name - 6yo ds did that at the xmas dinner table in front of everyone!!. Now ds is saying he doesn't like the name anymore either. So gutted. Dh and I love the name but it is a like bit marmite on mumsnet.

I know how you feel, my MIL has quite openly said to us that she doesn't like the name and then proceeded to fire names at us.
WHOSE business is it apart from the parents?!
It REALLY annoys me. She's asked us numerous times to change it.
It's hard enough picking a name without people making comments.

I love the name, I really do. I like it's origins and it goes really well with ds' name. My mother in law does a lot for us, and I'm very grateful, but sometimes I think she forgets that she is the grandparent not the parent and she really does need to back the fuck off!!

My nan turned her nose up at the name we picked as it is very unusual. But I just ignored her as we both love it so does everyone else.
Try to ignore her not worth you stressing about it as it's her that's going to have to get use to it try have a nice cuppa and some chocolate if you change it now your giving her exactly what she wants.

We won't be changing it that's for sure, there was nothing else we could agree on lol. I'm just so cross she went behind my back to ds!! I think that's really underhand.

I told my 89 year old Grandma the name I had chosen and she went mad said that I would give her a stroke if I called the baby that and she doesn’t want to see him if that’s his name. I said OK then!! Grin

We were exactly the same it's only this name we can agree on. Well she's been a bit silly really, does she know you know she don't like it?

38 weeks today! Never reached this point of pregnancy so the "pains" are all new to me.
Mw said I'm 4/5 palpable.. what does this mean?
A LOT of pressure today, can't stand/walk for long without being in pain. Hoping baby is getting ready 😣
