There was a thread here on babies due in May but for some reason it’s been closed. Anyone is due then?

Thanks everyone for the replies. So finally had the growth scan and baby has dropped from 50th to the 9th percentile at 37 weeks but they didn't want to see me again. Just a bit confused because how will we know if the growth is still dropping?
Will ring my MW in the morning and ask....
Hope you are all doing okay. X

Would definitely recommend ready meals, that's my plan! Last time when our son was born, some visitors came around tea time and stayed a little too long. So we weren't getting chance to eat until late.
Although this time I think I'm setting a visiting hours limit! So definitely no visitors after 4pm.

@Lou0390 I would definitely ring your midwife to ask!!!

RosaBaby2 · 16/04/2018 21:56

@Lou0390 I had the same but a bit earlier, baby had dropped from 50th to 10th percentile when went for 34 week scan and I had a rescan 2 weeks later (all was fine) is definitely ask!

I’m 30 Smile

SnowWhitesRestingBitchFace · 16/04/2018 22:52

@Counter27 I've been more getting pains in the sides of my legs/thigh area from lying on my side. Very uncomfortable.

@Misssmoo lots of discomfort/pressure around my pubic bone 😫

PatchworkWellies · 17/04/2018 07:05

I'm 30 too, had son at 28.
Not too uncomfy at mo, just v tired in evenings. Weirdly found I've gone off tea again and getting a bit nauseous sometimes if I let myself get too tired. Still only half packed for hospital although getting there!!

emily199027 · 17/04/2018 07:31

37 weeks today 🎉🎉 the end is near!

Redpandamonkey · 17/04/2018 09:01

Hi all I'm 35+1 and I'm exhausted. Evenings are the worst, the pressure on my hips and pelvis. Never felt anything like it!

Hospital bag is half packed, got the baby's first outfit Smile Not sure what else I really need. Does anyone have any good resources/lists on what to take?

Also, has anyone written a birth plan yet? If so, did you write it in your notes or separate?

Counter27 · 17/04/2018 09:16

@Redpandamonkey I've downloaded and printed off the template from the NHS website: www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/how-to-make-birth-plan/

Will fill it in this week and staple it inside my notes at the front.

My bag is packed. I put in 3 outfits of different sizes, a couple of muslins, a swaddle, nappies, wipes and cotton wool into a changing bag. Have kept what I need for labour and afterwards in a small holdall. Thought it might be easier to keep it separate and means the changing bag and car seat can stay in the car until needed.

emily199027 · 17/04/2018 09:27

For baby we have;
Nappies (I've packed one of the carry packs with 22 nappies in)
Water wipes
Disposable changing mats
One outfit, hat & blanket in my hospital case
3x tiny baby sleep suits
3x newborn sleep suits
5x vests
3x muslins
5x bibs
Coming home outfit & cardigan
Starter pack of ready made milk bottles
1 pair of scratch mitts

I've put all the sleep suits/vests in freezer bags in sizes and wrote on them so DH can find things. You know what men are like....if they can't see it it's not there!

Not sure if all of your hospitals do the bounty photo shoot but you may want to pack a nice outfit for that!

I’m 31! Had my other babies when I was a lot younger!!

Whoop 37 weeks today! I’ve packed a hospital bag, it’s very basic though as I’m planning a home birth. I’m so frustrated with my midwives, I was due my 36 week check last week. She came round but didn’t check baby or anything we just discussed the home birth. She said she’d contact me to arrange for me to be seen in clinic this week and I’ve heard nothing from them despite ringing different midwives. Gah.

PistFump · 17/04/2018 12:37

I'm finally booked in for a c-section next Friday 27th April (so I guess i had better skip on over to the babies due April thread!!)

Cheeseandapple · 17/04/2018 12:55

I'm 29 and pregnant with our first. I'm worried I've not packed enough clothes for her now! Think I've got 2 sleep suits and 2 baby gros with short sleeves. Should I take more in? I've got blankets, nappies etc but sounds like I could do with more clothes. No idea what to expect in terms of how long we'll be in.

I've been having sharp pain/discomfort on my lower belly on the left and felt a lot of pushing in my bum over the last couple of days - anyone else? I've been wondering if I should be able to feel as her head engages as I thought maybe that's what i was feeling?

Cheeseandapple · 17/04/2018 12:59

Also wanted to ask what you all are doing about family visiting? We don't have any family in the same city as us so everyone will be coming from out of town to visit. I think I'm worried about two things:

  1. Family staying for too long when they do visit. I'm imaging we'll all be really tired and wanting to have our daughter to ourselves but not being able to ask people to leave.
  2. Family wanting visit as soon as she is born!

Any experience of this or advice?! Do I just need to chill out?

emily199027 · 17/04/2018 13:10

@Cheeseandapple I'm just taking that much baby stuff because I'm having a planned section so will definitely be in for at least 1 night...it could be more depending how everything goes. And with my first born, he was 7lb 6oz but was in tiny baby clothes and we only have newborn and it all swamped him! So I'm prepared this time.
I would say to have an extra bag in the car with a few extra bits in just incase?
I've also packed extra incase of nappy leaks/baby sick etc.

As for visitors, we're not having any to hospital unless I'm in for more than 1 night. And then when we get home, I'm limiting who can come round in the first few days - will mostly be our parents. It can all be very overwhelming and tiring with a first born and everyone wants to visit. Only do what you feel you can do I would say!

@PistFump congrats!!! How exciting! Did they ring you today? X

PistFump · 17/04/2018 13:49

Yes they called me this lunch time :)

emily199027 · 17/04/2018 13:57

How exciting! How are you feeling?

PistFump · 17/04/2018 16:30

Well it's all gone a bit wrong since my last post at lunch time and I'm now in the MAU being tested for pre-eclampsia! Fingers crossed for me if poss!

Lou0390 · 17/04/2018 19:59

Hi everyone, thanks again for the messages and glad to hear you are all okay. I've got to go for another scan next week at 38 weeks- if they can fit me in. I'm glad to hear others have gone through this and it's just precautionary. Just told to monitor kicks etc.
Really exciting to hear about people packing bags- so much so I've finally made a start.
Eeek exciting, keep well ladies xx

RosaBaby2 · 17/04/2018 20:08

@Cheeseandapple re visitors I will have my family to hospital if I’m there long enough and anyone else can come round when I’m home. My son is 10 and I’m hoping he will be there pretty much straight away. I don’t really have rules for visitors, my house always has an open door to friends and family but I know that everyone’s different so just do what’s right for you. Don’t be scared to ask people to leave though!!

I’m single though so that may also be a contributing factor to the no rules about guests Grin

@PistFump fab that you’ve got a date finally!

@Lou0390 glad they’re going to re scan.

Cheeseandapple · 17/04/2018 20:08

@emily199027 ok that makes sense. I've added some extra bits for her just in case. Thanks!

Cheeseandapple · 17/04/2018 20:09

@PistFump hope you're both doing alright - just remember, you're in the best place to get looked after properly! X
