BlueeSpottyTiger · 20/12/2017 17:08

Welldone on getting to 24 weeks hot that's amazing news
brightside aww fab scan picture, Congrats 💖

Lisa so pleased for your good scan news, going by my calculations I'm 9+3 today but 10weeks based on lmp. I have a scan on Friday and I'm shitting myslef! Xx

brogueish · 20/12/2017 18:12

Really happy to hear about your scan Lisa and lifeofpies (sorry I missed that earlier) :)

Hotcookie Congrats on reaching 24 weeks, that must feel amazing. I am totally with you on the weight gain thing. I've put on 4 kilos so far and I'm only 16 weeks, which feels like loads. I'm feeling uncomfortable and just chunky. Have you spoken to your midwife about it? I was thinking of asking mine when I next see her.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 20/12/2017 18:47

Thanks for the nice messages! Just counting down the days to 12 weeks and our first big milestone now.

Wishing you the very best of luck for Friday bluee

MsJuniper · 20/12/2017 19:18

Just catching up after a busy day at work and delighted to see the scan news from @LisaSimpsonsbff - I know you will still worry but that is a great milestone and really positive.

@xxmissbrightsidexx really pleased for you too and great pic!

@hotcookie congratulations on the 24 weeks milestone, it is a great feeling isn't it.

I went back to the diabetes clinic today as my readings are still erratic whatever I eat or do - and fasting still too high even on overnight insulin. They've upped the dose of that and also given me insulin for mealtimes. The nurse was really concerned about my readings but then I saw the diabetes consultant and he said they were fine. Very mixed messages.

brogueish I haven't spoken to midwife about it, but I am seeing her tomorrow. Looking at my scales app I have gained 5.5kg since the start of November-which just isn't right at this stage! Too much chocolate and sitting on my arse (although I have a fairly physical job, I'm struggling with being as physical as I used to due to SI problems. I do walk everywhere, but used to run 15-25km a week & lift heavy weights)
I might give the gym a go on saturday- even if I just try to use the cross trainer, just to try and improve my physical fitness again.

Lifeofpies · 20/12/2017 21:25

Lovely to hear more scan news, and congratulations on reaching that milestone, hotcookie, that’s fab.

That’s difficult, MsJuniper - when will they review again? You shouldn’t get mixed messages between consultant and diabetes nurse, well not without a decent explanation. Hope you’re not too worried.

All the best for tomorrow, Bluee

Hope everyone else is ticking along X

brogueish · 20/12/2017 21:38

hotcookie Yes I know what you mean, I've been to the gym once since finding out I was pg. Just haven't had the energy for months - went from running and vinyasa yoga to no exercise and eating stodgy carbs! I'm going to follow your lead and make it to the gym at least once before Xmas. Feeling a bit more motivated now, thanks!

ThoughtAboutThisTooMuch · 20/12/2017 22:07

Congrats on the good scans lisa and brightside!

That’s terrible about your work grumpy; it’s awful that such discrimination still exists!

Ekphrasis · 21/12/2017 06:34

Sorry I'm being rubbish in the thread. I'm so pleased for all the scan news lisa, life and Brightside!

Hurrah hot! Great news! I'm normally relatively slim but have put on more than a stone so far and I'm only 5'2. My thighs are huge! I did loose it extremely quickly through breast feeding and general energy output to the point where I was starting to get underweight by 6 months post partum. Also I found my appetite towards the end tailed off - it is already. Go easy on what you do due to your back. You might find you get more done at swimming.

I'm sorry you've had confusing guidance Mrs Juniper. Are there any threads around mn who might give a clearer picture?

I'm so delighted for you bertie and grumpy! I remember you so well from the ttc.

I'm sure I've missed others - welcome and congratulations to new people!

Good luck for the scan blue. My 20 week scan is today and we will tell our son on Friday Grin.

Oh @FoxtrotSkarloey have a hand to hold. It's so hard isn't it. Don't fight it, it's normal to feel like this. Thinking of you and hoping for the best news.

Great news about the scan Lisa and MissBright.

Celebrations for Viability Day hotcookie. What an achievement.

I hope the get the diabetes under control mrsJ.

Best of luck for today Foxtrot.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 21/12/2017 09:45

Thinking of you foxtrot, and hoping for good news.

Really sorry you got such confusing mixed messages, msjuniper - I'd think the consultant would have the best overall oversight? When will you next have to see the clinic?

Lifeofpies · 21/12/2017 10:39

Hand to hold, foxtrot

zaalitje · 21/12/2017 10:39

My 20 week scan is now about 3 weeks away and I'm driving myself crazy with worry, that I'll already have lost bean, or that there will be major problems detected.
We also have a minimal risk of zika, which I had managed to push to the back of my mind but now I can barely think of anything else, apart from problems at the anomaly scan.
It all reduced me to tears at work yesterday so I know i need to get a grip.

brogueish · 21/12/2017 11:05

16 week scan this morning, all looks fine, apparently Otto (working name only!) is measuring small for dates - although based on when I know we conceived I think it's actually ok.

Just out of interest, how often are people seeing their midwife? I'm not sure if I should be seeing her as well as the 4 weekly scans/bloods or if it'll all be covered in those appointments.

Sorry you're feeling so anxious, zaa and Foxtro. Sending you both good wishes.

MsJuniper I hope they get the diabetes under control. Are you worried about it?

Ekphrasis I wanted to thank you for pointing out the PANDAS support. I'd not heard of it before but I'm really glad to know it's there, and they have really helpful advice on the website. Thank you.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 21/12/2017 11:34

Had a moment of doubt this morning that I'm really pregnant. Did an IC with very dilute wee and it looks like this. I think that's good? Stopped testing after 12DPO last time so I've no idea.

I'll be 5 weeks on sat. So tempted to do my next digital but worried it won't say 3+ yet so trying to hold out until at least Boxing Day (5+3)

Brenna24 · 21/12/2017 11:45

Even with regular time spent in the areas with Zika, the risks are really small Zaa, try and hold onto that (hard to do I know, you need something to freak out about). I too really worried that the baby would be gone by the 20 week scan. Lots of positive wishes to get you through.

Great news about Otto Broguish. I have been 4 weekly until now. I have growth scans at 32 and 36 weeks because of the risk of growth restriction from the steroids I had in my first trimester, which has pushed my 32 and 36 week midwife appointments to 34 and 38 weeks, so I will be every two weeks from now on.

That is a lovely test Grumpy. Be wary of the digitals. They can give some quite random readings and cause a lot of panic (says the woman who did her fair share in the early days this time Grin ).

BertieBotts · 21/12/2017 11:49

Hope everything went well Foxtrot.

Grumpy mine was like that, it's reassuring to see a strong line, isn't it?

WLMcI · 21/12/2017 12:02

Hi guys, sorry I've been away from the thread too long to get a complete update. We have been working night and day to get ourselves moved back into our house (finally out of the in-laws' place, hurray!).
I'm so thrilled to see your two beautiful boys, @mammabear!!! Well done, and best of luck to all 3 of you for a healthy start in life

Congratulations, foxtrot - so pleased to hear that. Of course it isn't a guarantee, but it is such a big hurdle jumped, and such a good sign. Enjoy the relief and happiness!

ForeverHopeful21 · 21/12/2017 12:26

Amazing Fox so happy for you! Understandable that DH is reluctant to accept the good news. But what a great milestone, seeing you babys heartbeat.

brogueish · 21/12/2017 12:26

So happy for you Foxtrot - I totally know what you mean about seeing a heartbeat. Such a joy, I'm thrilled for you :)

Thanks Brenna, that's really helpful to know. Every two weeks though, blimey! I really haven't yet got my head around how all of these appointments are going to fit into my work schedule. I think I need to shift my mindset...

In other news, I think I've just given myself a black eye by shoving a roll of wrapping paper right at my eye. Does pregnancy affect spatial awareness?? Genuine question because I keep bumping into things!
