@flatwhite...what on earth is slapped cheek? I just had a vision of kids being slapped at school when I read it 😂

Flatwhite32 · 22/01/2018 11:47

Haha @Expecto! It's otherwise known as parvovirus, and is called slapped cheek because your cheeks go really red when you get it! It can cause miscarriage, and between 9-20 weeks can cause something called foetal hydrops which can be dangerous for the baby. It's all unlikely to happen, of course, but there is a risk, and with this being a rainbow baby, my anxiety is bad anyway!

Hettyturnip · 22/01/2018 12:23

Bad news for me, I’m afraid. Just an empty sac, baby must have died weeks ago Sad

ladydolly · 22/01/2018 12:30

Hi Ladies,

Glad I found you, been hoping to join you all soon and now hoping I can!

I have a 3yr old dd. Had one cp before her, we started trying for another last may and had another cp in June followed by getting pg in Sept which sadly ended a mmc in October and a D&C in November. We had a half hearted go at trying again in Dec but only managed dtd once (busy xmas got in the way :)) and then properly went for it this month. I felt really sick on Saturday so did an early test sunday at 9dpo and got the squintiest squinter that prob wouldn't show on a pic. Tried again this morning and barely anything but I still feel symptomatic and got the attached. It's faint, but it's there, isn't it? Dare I believe? Did you all test early? Am I mad?

Sorry, that was a bit garbled. The pic shown was taken with my 2nd wee of the day. Fmu gave pretty much negative.

Expecto · 22/01/2018 12:31

Arrgh, anyone watching Coronation Street tonight? I know it's not real, but it just reminds me how terrified I am for this pregnancy.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 22/01/2018 20:51

I an so sorry to hear your sad news @Hettyturnip Thanks

TheGrumpySquirrel · 22/01/2018 20:55

I've added a private scan to my harmony test because the wait between my 8wk and 12wk scans was really stressing me out. So now I only have to wait 3 more days until the next scan. I'll be 10+2 I think.
