Great news about the good scan, lisa!

Welcome coastalchick, here’s to an uneventful pregnancy.

Very best for scans today/tomorrow namechanged and squirrel

LisaSimpsonsbff · 12/01/2018 13:37

Thanks! New EDD is 17 July. It sounds ridiculous but I was pleased - shaving even 3 days off the wait for the next scan feels like a small victory!

@LisaSimpsonsbff Lovely lovely news, so pleased.

Lovely news about your scan, Lisa!

Grumpy, my mmc was discovered at the same time as yours, after we had seen a heartbeat at 7weeks, so I have an idea of how you feel about tomorrow. Thinking of you and keeping my fingers firmly crossed for a better outcome this time (which is by far the most likely to happen, but I know that likelihoods are nice in the theory but do unfortunately not erase a devastating experience).

coastalchick · 12/01/2018 15:24

great news re scan lisa!

Hi everyone, just checking back into this thread.

Really great to hear about all the positive scans people have had!

We had the Harmony test done this week, so trying not think about that too much...I was very anxious before the scan as the previous one was done over 3 weeks before & I was worried that it was all over (no worrying symptoms whatsoever).

All looked ok at the scan and they have now dated the pregnancy 5 days ahead of what it was, based on LMP. Kind of exciting as it means I'm further ahead that I thought and now have a July EDD.
So I'll be 12 weeks in a couple of days, cannot really believe it.

NHS dating scan is in a week's time, then the Harmony results and another scan as part of the ( v expensive!) package.
We have been v impressed with the FMC, so far.

Hope you are all doing ok

halloumisandwich · 12/01/2018 16:55

Great news from Turquoise and Lisa today, and pleased to see your good news too Keep!
Had my 20 week scan today. All looking great, baby was being stubborn and wouldn't roll over so they could check the heart, had to go for a walk and come back. They think it's a girl - DH and I were convinced it's a boy, but delighted and so relieved everything is looking good!

Namechangedtoscream · 12/01/2018 17:24

Scan was crap. Got to go back in 10 days. They could see a gestational sac and my endometrium was thickened and the yolk sac seen but no heart beat as yet and they couldn't conclusively see a fetal pole. They think there was one and guesstimate it at 2mm.

Sac measurements are 11.9 x9.4x 10.0mm if that means anything to anyone.

Consultant was optimistic as I've been sick but I think this is going the same way as the rest.

coastalchick · 12/01/2018 17:30

Oh namechanged, I know how you must be feeling. I hope the next 10 days passes quickly and have everything crossed it will be ok xx

coastalchick · 12/01/2018 17:31

Turquoise - great news about your scan. I think getting to 12 weeks would be a major relief for me this time (only 8 weeks and a day to go - sigh!!) xx

Flatwhite32 · 12/01/2018 17:44

God what is it with some women and gender! Quote "I'm so so scared to be disappointed if it's a girl." FFS! This annoys me so much, while we are all managing horrible anxiety every day hoping our pregnancies progress! Never mind all the poor ladies out there struggling with fertility! Grrrrrrr.

Flatwhite32 · 12/01/2018 17:44

@coastalchick how are you doing today love? Xx

MsJuniper · 12/01/2018 17:49

Sorry to hear it @Namechangedtoscream - it was quite an early scan so I hope there will be some good news in 10 days but I know it will be a hellish wait for you.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 12/01/2018 17:54

I'm really sorry you didn't get more reassuring news, namechanged. Hoping you get a much more definitive update in 10 days.

BertieBotts · 12/01/2018 18:14

Name that sounds much more positive than I've had early on in the past. I appreciate it's shit to be given inconclusive news, though.

I've had more spotting yesterday afternoon and this afternoon and am a bit anxious about it but trying to get a grip because

  • I'm 8 weeks and some people get some spotting when the early periods "would have been" due, right?
  • It's really been very very little so not necessarily anything to worry about - yesterday just lots of mucous which was blood streaked and then today it was old brown blood so it COULD just be from irritation from the smear or anything at all!

Seems to have stopped now so I do feel better for that. I have decided to just take it easy over the weekend and if it continues I'll try and see my doctor on Monday. Not sure I'll fit it in before work though, because we have the geneticist in the morning, which is difficult because I don't really want to phone in sick.

coastalchick · 12/01/2018 18:15

@flatwhite32 - which thread is that on? It annoys the hell out of me too. All we hope for is healthy babies who make it. Some people!

Doing ok. Anxious obviously and didn't really sleep last night. Scared overtime I go to the loo and wipe, expecting to see blood. Keep going to loo to check. Hopefully I can't keep this up for the next 8 weeks! Don't work fridays so at least have been able to rest today and just trying to rest up and eat healthy.

How are you feeling now? Is it any easier after a good 12 week scan?

Flatwhite32 · 12/01/2018 18:20

@Namechangedtoscream that reads exactly like my 6 week scan, which I had at around 6+2. I had to have one due to bleeding, and all they saw was a gestational sac and yolk sac. There was no foetal pole, and I was dated a week behind! I was convinced that was it. Went back 12 days later and there was an 8 week embryo there bang on track with my dates, and with a heartbeat! I had my 12 week scan on Tues and it went well (touch wood a million times over). I know it's easy for me to say this now, but don't lose hope! Xx

Flatwhite32 · 12/01/2018 18:22

@coastalchick it was on FB, not on here. I hate to say this, but I'm not finding it any easier! I still obsessively knicker check, and I'm now worrying about the 16 week heartbeat appointment with the midwife! Glad you could take it easy today. Xx

keeponrunning85 · 12/01/2018 20:53

Congrats on all the good scans today ladies!

namechanged I'm so sorry yours wasn't conclusive. I hope the next 10 days go quickly for you. How far along are you by your dates?

Bertie I hope the spotting buggers off.

I got a bit of a fright when I went for a number 2 earlier. Then I remembered I had beetroot for dinner last night!

Lifeofpies · 12/01/2018 22:01

So sorry namechanged, it’s awful having to wait to be rescanned. I really hope the time goes quickly. How are you feeling?

UncertainPerson · 12/01/2018 22:21

Lisa and Turquoise so delighted to hear about your scans. I'm a July due date too - there must be lots of us on the thread.

Namechanged I am really sorry for the uncertain scan. I know it's such an awful feeling. I'm thinking of you Flowers and wishing everything for a great scan in 10 days time same as Flatwhite's experience.

May all spotting cease and symptoms be strong! Star

peachgreen · 12/01/2018 22:50

@Namechangedtoscream Ach I'm so sorry, that wait is horrendous. Will be thinking of you.

@BertieBotts I had brown spotting for several days at 8+4 (as well as 6+3). They reckoned it was breakthrough bleeding and all was done.

Lifeofpies · 12/01/2018 22:51

Sorry, I missed halloumi and turquoise’s good scan news, congratulations both. Love the level of detail at the 20w scan.

I have my dating scan on Sunday morning, if my dates are right it’ll be an end July baby so yes, lots of us, Uncertain!

Thinking of you, namechanged
