Emotions all over the place here also! Been feeling proper movements now for about a week but I know it's still early and they're rarely felt on the outside. I wouldn't worry if you're not feeling them yet!

Congratulations to those of you turning 20 weeks and best of luck for those of you with scans this week.

I have my scan on Friday when I'll be bang on 20 weeks. I would say I'm feeling 90% anxious about there being something wrong and 10% excited. Thankfully I have a manic week at work so I'm hoping that keeps me fully occupied and exhausted. We'd like to find out the sex if possible but to be honest if it has its legs crossed and is okay, I won't mind at all! How is everyone else feeling about theirs?

Hilarious Tea!! 😂

HarryHarry · 19/11/2017 22:15

emvy What do the movements feel like? I feel like I am having them but I can't be sure it's not something else like trapped air or something! Now and then I feel like something is pushing or nudging outward. Will I know for sure when the proper movements start?

emvy · 20/11/2017 06:18

The movements feel exactly as you describe Harry. I've only been sure that these feelings are movements since last week when the baby absolutely booted me and there was no mistaking it for a definite kick. I haven't felt anything as strong as that since but it's made me realise the popping, fluttering and tapping sensations are the baby. Before that, I was unsure as well. I also find that if it's indigestion or wind, I'll be feeling other symptoms like burping or bloating whereas when it's baby they're really, really low down (just above my pubic bone) and there are no other indigestion symptoms! It sounds like yours are movements and you'll come to recognise them soon Smile

ClaireBear1986 · 20/11/2017 08:57

Glad other people haven't really felt any movement yet either.
My Midwife keeps telling me that I might not feel anything till 25 weeks, but can't help but worry when other people are saying that have felt things at 14 weeks etc (I'm trying to take things that I read on here, with a pinch of salt. But it can be hard when I'm such a worry wart)

I had the crying thing a lot earlier on, and I even cried at Geordie Shore one day. Ha. Luckily it seems to have stopped now, so fingers crossed it don't come back.

Laughing so hard at the Nipples comment!!!!

We’re back from our scan.... 💙💙

buzzbuzzbumblebee · 20/11/2017 12:05

I didn’t feel movement until 20 and 21 weeks with my first two.. but been feeling it from 18 weeks this time.

That breastfeeding thing is funny @TeaAndToast85
I breastfed DD2 for 2.5yrs! The first month was agony, I would grit my teeth and curl my toes every time she fed! But it got much easier and I’m so glad DH wouldn’t let me give in.
I tried the whole “just one bottle of formula, so I can have a break” but he told me to push on. So thankful he did that because I loved breastfeeding when it stopped hurting!

DaisyLand · 20/11/2017 12:14

@buzzbuzzbumblebee congrats! everything ok with your little one then! Any name chosen?

@ClaireBear1986 how is the name debate going? Ive not had time to sit down with my partner and discuss it at all.. Baby will be born and still use baby B as per his surname haha

Cant wait to mine on thursday, had a horrible weekend so have applied for some anxiety help as otherwise the next 20w and post partum are gonna be like hell for me, and as my DH keeps telling me, baby needs a healthy mum...

Unfortunately no names whatsoever that we agree on!!

Everything that she’s seen looks okay! Have to go back in 2 1/2 weeks because she couldn’t get the full measurements - baby was facing my back and refused to move!

I had another scan on 27th October which was very thorough, so I’m not worried as everything came back clear then 😊

I have a DS and DD - they both really wanted a girl. As did I. So it will be interesting to see how they react!

ClaireBear1986 · 20/11/2017 15:26

Managed to stand my ground @DaisyLand and say no to the hideous name suggestion from DP.

I've bought him a book of baby names and told him to write down his top 15, and I will write down mine and then compare them.
I've had mine written down for ages now, and he still has 1 name on his list.

Very frustrating.
Just want to put a name to my son, rather than calling him bump.

Is it just me, or is this pregnancy dragging like crazy??

I spend all day at work, just googling pregnancy and babies!!

charlie0692 · 20/11/2017 18:25

Hey everyone, had my 20w scan this morning and everything seems to be ok. Didn't find out what we were having, we want to keep it a surprise☺ I know exactly what you mean about being emotional lately, I keep crying for no reason what so ever! As for movements I hadn't felt anything other than the odd little tickle until last Friday, felt a little kick whilst lying in bed, my husband held his hand on my stomach for a good 15 minutes but couldn't feel anything, but I got up and lay back down and there it went again. He couldn't believe he could actually feel it so soon! 😂 xx

emvy · 20/11/2017 20:52

Glad your scans went well Buzz and charlie! Wonderful news!

Claire, that sounds frustrating indeed! My OH and I only have one boy name that we agree on and two girl names. We did have two of each but then OH changed his mind about our boy name 🙄 There's no rush to name him though - you'll get the right name eventually Smile I'm also with you on the dragging thing. Everyone is all, "I can't believe you're almost half way!" And I'm just there thinking, "Are you kidding me?! April seems an age away!"

Daisy, best of luck for Thursday. I have mine Friday and I'm bricking it!

Loosemoose28 · 20/11/2017 22:42

I think I have felt odd movement but not sure.

As for names a boys name is decided, it was the day me and partner met Blush my OH is Irish and first boy is named after father so he is a line of Patricks- how original lol

Scan next monday- won't find out sex.

WonderfullySunny · 21/11/2017 04:48

amysaurus87 I haven’t felt anything either so you’re not the only one Smile
Loosemoose28 do you like the name at least?
My MIL has asked that if we have a girl we name it after her Hmm they’re a different nationality to me and it’s a bit of an awkward situation as it’s not the nicest name in English, as in opportunities for child to be taken the mick out of royally, I’ve said this to DH but he’s now sad he’s going to upset his DM. Kind of hoping it’s not a girl so we can avoid the issue, chicken or what?!?
Had the glucose blood test ended up having to go home from work as I felt faint, anyone else had this test as yet?

AnnaMadden · 21/11/2017 09:40

As I'm typing I'm sitting here feeling my little peanut hiccup for the first time. I can't stop smiling...such a lovely feeling!

Rebeccaslicker · 21/11/2017 11:14

Had my 20 week scan today too, all looks good, phew! We know it's a girl (had harmony) but scan confirmed that. Placenta at front which explains why I am not feeling much, silly placenta!

Hope everyone is feeling good today.

DaisyLand · 21/11/2017 11:31

@Rebeccaslicker that's annoying about the placenta, in my private scan i was told the same about mine. Tho i guess it's better to have it there than blocking the baby's way out. Weird thing for me is that i feel flutters but no kicks, tho lately I've been suddenly having some shocks as if someone kicked/punched or something exploded inside me,

@WonderfullySunny hoping for you you're having a boy! I'd say sorry I cant put your name as otherwise I'd feel i'm letting my mum down so i'd rather go for something else

@AnnaMadden was smiling with you when I read your post yesterday, could you see anything from the outside or just the feeling?

@DaisyLand hehe thanks! I’ve put that to him previously and his reply is I know you don’t like your DMs name anyway...missed the point entirely.

HarryHarry · 22/11/2017 06:31

WonderfullySunny Great list, thanks for including me but - and I may be mixed up with someone else here - didn't Islingtonhels lose her baby early on? I might be wrong about that but I think I remember the name.

amysaurus87 · 22/11/2017 07:00

@WonderfullySunny what a lovely idea! So nice to see all our EDDs 😁

WonderfullySunny · 22/11/2017 07:08

@HarryHarry thanks for flagging it, I’ll double check now as there are two Islingtons on my list but only one has shown up :(

DaisyLand · 22/11/2017 07:14

@wonderfullysunny thanks for the list !

However, after the dating scan I was moved to 11-04

OP posts:
WonderfullySunny · 22/11/2017 07:28

I have indeed mixed up the two Islingtons Sad I’m so so sorry, I’ve asked HQ to remove the post.
@DaisyLand thank you for the correction, I’ve amended the list and will perhaps try again on the next thread....

DaisyLand · 22/11/2017 07:49

Don’t worry. I’ve been told 7 , 9 (because of last periods) and 11 cuz of ovulation. So I don’t even know when I’m due haha

Teeeee · 22/11/2017 07:52

@WonderfullySunny its a really nice idea, thanks for including me too... I have had my date pushed back by my doctor to April 27.. DH still goes by the old date as he likes to count my pregnancy weeks by tuesdays and cant handle the change of counting on thursdays... good for my pregnancy brain confusion.
