@AnnaMadden I literally just got out of the shower and had a hard enough time trying to shave my legs, I gave the area a go but decided it was too much hard work 😂

Anyone believe in any old wives tales about pregnancy? We keeping our little pumpkins sex a surprise and listening to heartbeat today I heard a horse and OH heard a train apparently a horse is a girl and a train is a boy, we can't even agree on what it sounded like 😂

AnnaMadden · 16/01/2018 20:28

I don't blame you @Pumpkinma lol...way too much hard work 😂

Ours is a surprise too...it does sound like a horse though so that's an interesting theory. If you believe the nub theory or Chinese conception theory we're having a girl...but I'm carrying out front which they say is a boy so who knows lol

amysaurus87 · 16/01/2018 20:50

Surprise here as well. So far people are pretty convinced it's a girl as I'm all at the front, apparently I don't look pregnant from the back! But if I go by the Chinese calendar thing then it's a boy!

Lady garden maintainence is interesting. I've taken to just taking a razor to it and hoping for the best 🤣 haven't seen it since week 22 so lord knows what it looks like! Legs are easier as I've taken to having baths so I shave them then.

MissYeti · 16/01/2018 21:56

OH has agreed to take on the glorious job of maintaining the lady garden 😂 I haven't needed to utilise him yet though!

I've read about tens machines but I'm determined to have a water birth so the two aren't compatible!

Loosemoose28 · 16/01/2018 22:13

MissYeti just take it off before getting in the pool. You can use them as early as you like.

Pumpkinma · 16/01/2018 22:24

@AnnaMadden @amysaurus87 there are so many theories and ways of 'telling' suppose they all have a 50/50 chance. I've convinced myself it's a boy but I have no basis as to why

HarryHarry · 17/01/2018 04:06

What other kinds of pain relief are you considering for labour? I just found out that gas and air isn't a thing here so it looks like I'll be doing it all natural!

amysaurus87 · 17/01/2018 06:52

@Pumpkinma I'm convinced I'm having a girl, but no idea why, I just always see a girl in my head if that makes sense?

Haven't even began to think about labour, that's on the list of things to work out in the next few weeks. I am toying with the idea of a water birth, but it depends if I'm allowed to deliver at the midwife led birth centre or not, as otherwise I'll be on a hospital labour ward.

Loosemoose28 · 17/01/2018 10:33

I will have to go to hospital for this baby now due to the bleeding. Rather than have baby at home as I wanted.

If I stay stable ideally I still want the pool. Im actually scared of labouring without the pool. TENs for home and latent phase. And started my hypnobirthing scripts now mainly as really struggling to sleep anxiety wise so I fall asleep to it.

AnnaMadden · 17/01/2018 13:03

I'm hoping for a water birth this time. I have an ante natal consultant appointment this afternoon and they will confirm if I am suitable for a midwife led birthing centre delivery...If it's a thumbs up then I'll be definitely in the pool. Want to discuss Braxton Hicks with her too...I've been having them for a while which isn't an issue but since yesterday evening they have been regular and some quite painful!

Going back to dreams...I had one last night where I couldn't produce any milk for the baby and no where had any bottles left so the baby was getting sick...it was awful and I woke up in such a panic...I stopped at Boots on the way to work to buy a box of bottles just in case! OTT or what!

Pumpkinma · 17/01/2018 15:14

@amysaurus87 I wonder if we will be right about it!

I've not really thought too much about labour I've read everything there is too read about pregnancy and I keep reading lots about newborn babies and first time parenting but I keep forgetting about the having to give birth part I think I'm mentally blocking it out 😂 although I'm halfway through a hypnobirthing book I think I want as little medical intervention as possible or as much as I can withstand and not go to the hospital till contractions are coming thick and fast. But it's also my first baby and I have no idea how I'm going to react when the time comes 😳

HarryHarry · 17/01/2018 16:54

I wanted a birthing pool too but they don't do them here either!

As it's my first baby I really have no idea what to expect but I wanted to do it without an epidural because I read that if you have one, you have to stay on the bed the whole time, which is supposed to be the most awkward and uncomfortable position for getting the baby out. However now that I know I won't have gas and air or a birthing pool I am really starting to worry how I'll manage the pain! Somehow I don't think hypnobirthing is going to be enough - though I'm still going to try it.

Rae2017 · 17/01/2018 17:01

I always thought I wanted an epidural but as I'm getting closer, thinking more not. I would quite like to do it using gas and air. Again, have no idea what to expect so will go with the flow.

Well ladies, thought I would share thay2I officially have baby brain. Went to the gym after work yesterday and unpacked my gym bag and had odd trainers 🙈so trained in odd pair of trainers. Luckily they weren't both left feet. Maybe I'll set a trend haha

TeaAndToast85 · 17/01/2018 19:39

@AnnaMadden I'm hoping for a waterbirth too, I've heard good things.

Guys, I ate salmon and kale for dinner...I was so proud for giving my baby loads of nutrients, and then spoiled it by scarfing down a whole family bag of minstrels like a cross eyed beast Sad

AnnaMadden · 17/01/2018 20:16

@TeaandToast85 that actually made me lol...that sounds so much like me it's untrue! 😂

emvy · 17/01/2018 20:39

Haaa, I’m so glad someone brought up the shaving issue 🙈😂 such a predicament! I’m also just hacking away and hoping for the best. God knows what it actually looks like down there!

In terms of labour, I’ve thought and read about it but also not, if that makes sense. I’m not sure whether it feels like it’s not actually going to ever happen or whether because it’s my first I’ve no idea what to expect, but I’m just not worried at all and going to go with the flow. I’d also like to use the pool and go as long as possible without an epidural but that’s not a fixed thing at all. I’m not even sure I can use the pool if I’m consultant led so that’s something I’ll need to ask at some point. Basically, who knows what’s going to happen so I’ll just find out at the time!

TeaAndToast, you’ve done better than me. I’ve literally not stopped eating chocolate every single day since I found out I was pregnant. Anyway, you had a healthy meal so that cancels out the chocolate!

Fieau · 17/01/2018 22:35

I have convinced myself it's a boy (but have no actual idea). We have been referring to it as "he" the whole pregnancy and OH suggested this week we should start calling it "she" and "her" so that we don't get too fixated on the boy thing. Makes sense but everytime he rubs my bump and talks about it being a girl it feels so wrong to me that it makes me really irrationally angry at him Grin ridiculous pregnancy hormones because honestly we just want a healthy baby after years of TTC!

Loosemoose28 · 17/01/2018 23:58

Haha @fieau I am the same with my OH calling bump a boy. I think I will be shocked if I see boy bits on this baby. We don't know the sex but I am convinced its a girl as are most of my friends and family.

MiniMummy576 · 18/01/2018 11:59

Hello ladies, is anyone else really hungry all the time?
I went through stages during the first trimester of being ravenous one week and then completely uninterested the next but now I'm really hungry again.
And the cravings!
This morning so far I've a craving for beef stew (at breakfast - I was slightly disappointed with my overnight oats in greek yoghurt and peaches Grin) poppadum and chutney, and then meat pie!

Bez9087 · 18/01/2018 14:58

I go through stages too. Depends how babies are led for me if they are low down (they are last few days) then I could eat everything in sight Blush

Fieau · 18/01/2018 17:50

I'm starving!! All the time!! I've always had a small appetite before so finding it quite odd.

I literally get up in the middle of the night to come downstairs and have a snack!

CPG12 · 18/01/2018 17:59

I’ve just had my scan and need some advice to know what I’m having! I just don’t know how to upload pics looool

DaisyLand · 18/01/2018 19:35

Hello all how is it going? Hope fine!

I had my 28w scan today. Can’t believe we’re in the 3rd trimester and that soon there will be a baby on our arms! Everything is ok with little me. Also gd was discarded yuhuu! So had a big sugar intake today which I think it has affected lo as he’s moved more than ever !(remember I’ve got anterior placenta so most of days I only feel him 10 times or 1)

We had our daisy class yesterday. , different positions the baby can be born. There is the optimum and the breech position which is the worse for natural birthing. I know which one will baby go for if he’s as annoying as me haha

Also I’ve started thinking that I should soon start buying the babies nappies / wipes / cotton and so and so ! And also the things for me ! And his cot which we still don’t have ! I think I’ll wait til my 31st review and then get it but these weeks seem like flying !

Hope you’re all well in here !

I’m 27+2 and have been having intermittent stitch all evening. What does that sound like to everyone? I thought it was round ligament pain, but I usually get that when I’m walking. Also thought it might be braxton hicks but belly isn’t hard. I had braxton hicks in first pregnancy but never felt them unless I had my hand on my belly...
or perhaps baby’s just had a growth spurt?

Pumpkinma · 19/01/2018 00:57

@DaisyLand I know what you mean, I can't believe how quickly these weeks are going! I've been thinking about creating a stash of nappies wipes wool etc too, and need to make a list of what I need for the hospital I honestly have no idea,

Anyone got a website or know of a good list of what needs to be in hospital bag? First time mummy with out a clue over here 😂🤰🏻
