Lucky you, hope you have an amazing time out there @AnnaMadden

AnnaMadden · 27/12/2017 11:53

Thanks hun 😊

Teeeee · 27/12/2017 13:11

Have fun in Lanzarote!! We're off to Tuscany tomorrow. I also cannot wait! Italian food- yes please. Not that baby hasnt been rather well fed the last few days! Christmas was great but always quite tiring, so our last holiday together just the pair of us is very welcome now.

We got a bit of snow.. but I love a bit of snow really.

Hope everyone is well,

X

Teeeee · 27/12/2017 13:14

@RachJKeenan .. my mum also has lots of opinions!! I've had to be quite firm already about a few things... she means well but sometimes I do have to set boundaries, which to be fair to her she is presently respecting.

DaisyLand · 27/12/2017 13:40

@Teeeee where are you going in Tuscany ? We visited most of it and got pregnant week after we came back ! There must be something in the water :D

Bought pram and car seat for my car. My dh car is quite a strange one so we’re struggling to find something that fits both mine and his. At the end solution is try mine and hope it fits him if not god knows what will we do. Confused

Have a great time @Teeeee that sounds like a lovely break

RachJKeenan · 27/12/2017 15:33

@Teeeee It's actually very sweet, she's just super excited! Ours will be her first grandbaby so she's freaking out a little bit!

emvy · 27/12/2017 20:17

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the hangover free Boxing Day and eating all the food Christmas Day! So, so exciting to think about next year but incredibly special feeling our little ones wriggling around this year. I feel truly blessed.

Welcome to Fieau and Rach. Fieau, I'm in the same situation as you - 2 losses before falling pregnant with this little one, that will be our first. I also have growth scans every 4 weeks from 28 weeks and am praying bump's constant wriggles are a sign he's super strong and bang on where he should be so he stays put until the due date (or there abouts!). I think it took me until the 20 week scan to settle into it properly and relax.

OH and I are also going to take advantage of the John Lewis offer for £100 off a car seat - buying a buggy and seat tomorrow. Seems like a huge step! Baby got super spoilt by all the family over Christmas as well - lots of very cute outfits.

Those of you going away - have a wonderful time getting some much needed rest! I personally enjoy snow and we had quite a covering today so enjoyed a rather hefty 2 hour walk this morning!

Hi ladies
Hope we are all well. Just had to re try find the thread and catch up 🙈 so glad to hear you all had a lovely Xmas.
@harry how you feeling now? I can’t believe no one helped you up when you fell. Is there anyone you can talk too? We are all here to listen too xx
I had an interesting week leading up to Xmas got admitted to hospital. Had such bad stomach cramps but coming in waves kind of like contractions. They took me to delivery suite where they established wasn’t the babies thank god 🤞🏻 But they highly suspected gall bladder so admitted me. Scan next day showed wasn’t the gall bladder and they think I was constipated 😳 honest could have cried from embarrassment! But they allowed me home the Friday just in time for Xmas. I have consultant today so need to follow it up with her as my iron levels are still dropping despite the 2 iron tablets a day I’m on. So think they are talking about an infusion where I go in for half hour have it through a drip and then go back a week later for top up. Plus it is kinder on my body than these stupid tablets. Feel like I rattle every time I move. Had a few more spasms since being out but nothing like it was when I got admitted.
Can’t believe how quick this pregnancy is going. 24+5 today. Feeling them move so much more. Both have anterior placentas so some days I don’t feel as much but my ribs and back hurt so they must be facing that way kicking. When I had a scan at hospital last week for the gallbladder they found my
Womb at the highest point it can go to 🙈 so only way for me now is outwards kind of scares me a bit. Already feel knackered and out of breath huffing and puffing to get upstairs 😳
@daisyland it’s good they are monitoring the glucose have they said to restrict anything diet wise until the next test or carry on as normal?
Iv got my pram all ready I got it second hand and my dh got it re sprayed at work so looks brand new. We chose mountain buggy duet but managed to get the carrycot plus for it so they can parent face longer. Keep looking at it not believing we will have two babies in there soon 🙊🙊
Hope you all have a lovely day 😊

DaisyLand · 28/12/2017 08:19

Hello l
Glad it wasn’t anything important at least no contractions ! Hopefully you’ll feel better with the drip.

They said not to worry. Gonna finish enjoying Xmas tho reducing sugar (Xmas in Spain ends on the 6th) and after that I’ll try to reduce little bit more and see what comes. Mine mainly likes playing for a bit at night and during the night (I’m suffering from insomnia so sometimes I feel him)

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a nice Christmas. I've just managed to catch up on everyone. Ive been flat out at work.

So much going on. I hope everything turns out okay, with your glucose levels, and your spasms and iron levels ladies!

I've got work every day till the 2nd now going to be a long week! 😩

When is everyone planning on going maternity leave? I don't know how well I'm going to cope with these long hours and shifts at the pub with my expanding frame 😂

TeaAndToast85 · 28/12/2017 22:16

Evening all. Does anyone else have an anterior placenta (on the front wall of uterus)? I'm finding it pretty annoying, because I still haven't felt any really strong kicks, just little flutters and a 'rolling' feeling. I'm 23 weeks today. All I want is a big kick!

DaisyLand · 28/12/2017 22:23

Here ! 25w and still feeling annoyed. I’ve got a few days where I can feel him for an hour or so and that’s it. Today it’s been a few minutes. I had mw yesterday and hb was strong so just blaming everything to position + baby getting bigger.

Few people have told me how lucky we are as it’s not funny to be woken up i the middle of the night with kicks but I’m jealous !

OP posts:
TeaAndToast85 · 28/12/2017 22:34

@DaisyLand I would love to be woken in the middle of the night by a big kick! (I'm aware that I may regret saying that!) DH keeps putting his hand on my belly hopefully, but I have a feeling it's going to be weeks yet. You'd think that we would be able to feel kicks on the sides? Sad

MissYeti · 28/12/2017 23:07

Teddyss first distinguishable movement was a massive headbutt at 17 weeks, haven't felt anything like it since. I find laying in the bath/bed is when he's most likely to use my belly as a punching bag otherwise I dont really feel him

TeaAndToast85 · 29/12/2017 03:30

@MissYeti I've found the same, I only ever really feel movement if I'm lying in bed.

Also, while I'm having a whinge (sorry) we are at FILs and I have been up literally all night with indigestion. The heating has been on all night, and as soon as I start to feel like I might drop off, DH starts snoring. I've got to drive us home 2 hours in the morning Confused

I hate staying at other people's houses AngryAngryAngry

I hope you're all having a much more pleasant night than I am x

Bez9087 · 29/12/2017 08:35

Anterior placentas here too. I can feel proper boots but only every so often and I only think I can because when they scanned me my uterus top is right under my ribs so highest point it will get.
Consultant went fine thinking I do need cardiology now 🙄 if iron hasn’t improved in four weeks then drip. She was lovely was same dr who discharged me last week so was asking how everything had been. Also got my whooping cough vaccine whilst there. Boy was my arm aching last night! Has anyone had there’s yet?
@teaandtoast hope you managed to get some sleep if you can when you get home try get a nap in.

MissYeti · 29/12/2017 08:51

Bez I had my whooping cough vaccine on 15th December when I had my anomaly scan. Had a little bruise there but no other side effects.

Teaandtoast hope you managed to get some sleep! Take care while driving x

ClaireBear1986 · 29/12/2017 09:04

@Bez I had my whooping cough injection at the beginning of December and my arm did ache for a couple of days (which the Nurse had warned me was very common) but apart from that I had no side effects either.

Bez9087 · 29/12/2017 09:36

That’s good to know as the list of side effects scared me 😂 it’s not as bad today the ache

amysaurus87 · 29/12/2017 10:55

I had my whooping cough vaccine after my 20week scan, very glad I did as about 4 weeks after that someone came into work with whooping cough! They were never vaccinated as a child...I did freak out a bit and they were very quickly sent home!

Lots of movements here now, little kicks on and off through the day, hubby can feel them now which he loves. Harricot keeps getting hiccups which is funny, I did speak to midwife about it as Dr google told me this can be a sign of cord collapse or the cord being wrapped around babys neck but she assured me it is normal and she would only worry if it I was in the last trimester.

Brought a few baby bits in the sale yesterday, but nothing big has been brought yet! Though we have a much better idea of the pram we are going to get!

AnnaMadden · 29/12/2017 11:17

Peanut has developed a play and nap routine now...though it does feel like sometimes nap time is forgotten! I get woken up 2-3 times per night...thats on the nights I can actually sleep lol. We can see the feet now when a full on stretch is performed which both looks and feels strange! But over all we have a very active Peanut. We were told we had anterior placenta but now that the baby is much bigger than the placenta that I can feel movements all over other than a very small area in the middle of my tummy near the top.
I had my flu jab and whooping cough jab together in November. Achy arm for 3 or 4 days but nothing else.
We've bought a few little bits and plan on buying all the big things once we get back from holiday...It's getting very exciting!

SBDB · 29/12/2017 11:52

It's great to feel movement. I am feeling lots and lots of fluttering and bigger kicks almost all of the time that I'm sat still. Hubby has only felt one big kick but since then every time he puts his hand on my tummy the baby stops! I'm currently not being woken up but I do sleep like a log so it would have to be spectacular to wake me up!!
Looking forward to feeling more on the outside.
I've also noticed a sudden urge to get things bought and organised even though I know it's ages away. I keep wanting to clean out the cupboards and go shopping! Grin

ClaireBear1986 · 29/12/2017 12:38

I do find it funny how little man kicks and kicks constantly, then the second someone puts their hand on my bump to feel him, he stops.
The moment they take their hand away, he does a massive kick again.

He's a little wind up already :)

emvy · 29/12/2017 13:43

So lovely to hear of lots of movements! Mine is also very active and I can pretty much feel him continually (as you say, until someone wants to see/feel, then he stops!).

We bought our buggy and car seat yesterday afternoon from John Lewis online and although we selected free delivery and it was estimated between the 3rd and 5th, it’s apparently coming today! I have to say, that’s pretty impressive although it’s yet to turn up. I’m feeling slightly nervous and excited for its arrival!
