I am thinking about using matchsticks to stay awake, so I feel your pain. Roll on 6.30pm!!

How lovely to have a nice long break, and get to go home and see the family. Enjoy Spain @DaisyLand
We are going back to my parents this Xmas (for the 4 days) and I literally can't wait :)

MissYeti · 20/12/2017 09:53

Ive gone the other way again 😭😭 I suffer from random bouts of insomnia anyway but I only got two hours this morning, from 7-9am!
As a student I have until the first week of february off, got essays to write in that time and my dissertation but it'll be nuch easier than having to travel to uni every day.
Have a lovely time in Spain daisy! We're visiting 3 families over Xmas eve and Xmas day as OH had to go back to work on boxing day :(

AnnaMadden · 20/12/2017 10:02

Working all of this week and the 3 days next week then off to Lanzarote for 10 days for a nice bit of winter sun. So exciting to think that this will be the last visit on our own...our next visit will be June with our Peanut!

Pumpkinma · 20/12/2017 14:23

So jealous of all your time off and lovely holidays. Running a pub at 24 weeks with sickness is not fun at any time but Christmas is killing me, never known tiredness like it 😴

Hope you all have a lovely time off! Wish me luck over the next 4 days haha

Rae2017 · 20/12/2017 14:34

My energy levels are sapped. I break up on friday but struggling to see how i can get through next 48 hours! Nice to hear of all the holidays and breaks people are having.

My bump feels huge but every kick is very low down. Not had one high up yet. Anyone else feeling this.

On another note, and maybe tmi but ive been gettung weird sensations down below...feels like my cervix opening and closing (which i know it's not) thats the only way i can describe it 😂 does anyone know what im talking about?

ClaireBear1986 · 20/12/2017 14:43

Wow @Pumpkinma, you must be super woman. Good luck with the pub and I hope you find some time to relax.

I feel exactly the same @Rae2017, I never knew it was possible to feel this tired before. I would go back to how I felt in the 1st trimester over this in a heartbeat. Trying not to moan though, as I know there's a lot of people who have it a lot lot worse than me.

DaisyLand · 20/12/2017 15:24

"Glad to hear" everyone has run out of energy :) Thought i was the only one without it! Went to antenatal swimming at lunch time and there is a girl who is 29w pregnant and she was saying she had run out of energy, i thought s**t maybe it's too early to run out of it :)

I think my best weeks were 12-20 or so, i was full of energy but wasnt sick as before 12w.

And yes def. not moaning about my situation, after everything i have gone through to get pregnant this is the easiest bit :) Just wish i wasnt awake everynight between 4 and 6! I even come to mumsnet but threads barely move haah

BTW not going home til NYE, spending 1st xmas in the UK ,,, i was told i could get really drunk, aw wait.. that was before i got pregnant! Now i'm nominee driver and babysitter haha

@Rae2017 all my kicks have been low down for the last couple weeks, teddy was breech at my scan last Friday so that explains that one! He has shifted though, I had a private scan at 17+5 and he was head down then, got kicks by my belly button when he was that way

Not been on for a few days, so having a catch up.

I've finished for Xmas now and don't go back until 2 Jan...so happy and looking forward to the time off.

My energy levels are OK but am starting to struggle to sleep all the way through the night, I either get to warm, need a wee or have to sneeze!

Kicks seem to be all over the shop, sometimes they are quite low and other times they are up by my ribs, got a proper little wriggler on my hands I think Smile

emvy · 21/12/2017 08:36

Congrats on everyone getting to 24 weeks! Such a milestone. I turn 24 weeks tomorrow and have my midwife appointment today. Going on my own as OH has his last day in his current job today so couldn't get the time off. Hoping I get to hear the heartbeat again - those that have had this appointment - did they listen in?

I finally got a letter through the other day but not for an appointment with the consultant as I was expecting, but for a fetal growth scan at 28 weeks! Looks like I bypassed the initial appointment, slightly unsure why but this is the first time I've been excited for a scan so I'm very much looking forward to it. I know bub is okay as like many of you, I have a little wriggler in there. I can feel movements incredibly low down in my pelvic area and at the same time above my belly button! I guess like everything else, everyone will be feeling completely different things and that it's all normal!

I'm also with you on the zero energy but I wasn't sure if it was just because it was the end of the school Christmas term and that's always a killer! I hope that everyone is able to get at least a couple of days off with their feet up while family run around feeding you mince pies and Christmas pudding!

AnnaMadden · 21/12/2017 10:20

@emvy...they do listen in and it's great to hear. Midwife said they listen at every appointment! So enjoy 😊

Pumpkinma · 21/12/2017 15:47

@ClaireBear1986 haha definitely not feeling like superwoman more like tired woman! But thank you, I'm sure I will get through I just miss coffee 😩😂

I swear I woke up twice the size today I'm seriously running out of clothes! What's everyone doing for maternity wear or clothes at the minute? Need some inspiration or shops to head to please 😊

ClaireBear1986 · 21/12/2017 16:10

I'm struggling with my office job at the moment @Pumpkinma, so you definitely seem like Super Woman to me.
I hope you do get some time over Xmas to put your feet up and be pampered though, sounds like you deserve it.

I'm mainly still wearing my normal clothes, but just loose tops and dresses etc and bought leggings in a size up.
I have bought a few maternity outfits but they make me look huge compared to my normal clothes, not sure why.
Still squeezing into my size 10 dresses for work, not sure how much longer I will be able to do that for.

MissYeti · 21/12/2017 16:20

I got maternity leggings from new look, they're glorious! Otherwise I'm just wearing long floaty tops, they're working wonders at hiding most of my bump at the moment!

Pumpkinma · 21/12/2017 16:24

@ClaireBear1986 in your size 10 well that's made me jealous! I'm wearing dresses and tights to work and mainly leggings and baggy tops not at work but I really miss jeans

Thanks @MissYeti I'll try some new look leggings I ordered some from very and they are pretty crap

ClaireBear1986 · 21/12/2017 16:37

I've been very lucky to be able to squeeze in them still, they do make my bump look like a little football, but I quite like that.
I have bought maternity jeans though as my normal jeans were very uncomfortable on my belly. Bought a pair from BooHoo and a pair from New Look and they are really comfortable.

Still trying to find maternity leggings that don't go see through so I can wear them when I start yoga next month.

Rae2017 · 21/12/2017 17:09

Im wearing mainly leggings and floaty tops. Seems to be most comfortable.
Just realised i will hit 24 weeks on Christmas Day!

Teeeee · 21/12/2017 17:22

Hello all and Merry Christmas!
@ClaireBear1986 I bought some h&m mama leggings which I love.. and dont think they are see through at all. I had bought an 'm' when an 's' would have fit at the time but am very glad I did now! The bump is growing and growing and my leggings are the comfiest things. I bought the cutest dungaree dress online which I have had many a compliment on- its a maternity thing I found on ebay shipped from China (I never do international sellers but I did love this dress) and I live in it! Have added some new outfit numbers for free by way of stealing from my mum and the lovely partner. Boy jumpers are the best! As are boy pyjamas! (Have requested my own boy pyjamas for my birthday.)
Lovely to hear everyone is well... other than tiredness (me tooooo!! Sooo tired!!) and the little one is wiggling loads! Sometimes he likes to have a little dance on my bladder which feels so weird! Hope everyone is getting to rest finally.

Xx

amysaurus87 · 21/12/2017 18:33

I've found H&M and Boohoo have been brilliant for maternity wear, I've got jeans and leggings and loads of dresses. Mothercare is good but so so expensive!

I've gone up a size in most things, and will be buying boy pajammas in the sales after Xmas!

@rae2017 I'm due just before you as I hit 24weeks on Xmas eve!

Rae2017 · 21/12/2017 19:40

@amysaurus I'm so excited. And by new year we will be 25 weeks! It's going so quickly

emvy · 21/12/2017 21:34

They did listen in - so wonderful! I had a different midwife as mine has broken her arm! She was lovely though.

I also find h&m the best for maternity wear but mainly because there's one not far from me where I can try things on! I have a lovely pair of black jeans from there and plan on getting another after Christmas. Other than that I'm just wearing leggings, baggy tops and loose fitting dresses as well. Also rapidly growing out of anything non-maternity though so I'm having to be really strict with myself to not buy anything non maternity! Teeeee, do they still have your dungaree dress on eBay? It sounds like my kind of thing!

ClaireBear1986 · 22/12/2017 08:48

Think I'll be heading over to H&M website then :) Thanks for the tip.
Annoying that none of the shops here actually stock maternity wear, so cant try anything on.

I found BooHoo very hit and miss with their maternity wear, but then I always found that with their normal clothes. Think they make their sizes up as they go along.

AnnaMadden · 22/12/2017 10:06

I don't have any shops near me that actually stock maternity clothes either so it's the internet for me! I've found new look the best and very reasonable in price so I don't feel too bad adding items to me expanding (literally) wardrobe. I've been in maternity clothes for a while now so I've had to buy quite a lot...I've recently bought a few more items in the sales but now focus on nursing tops so I can still make use of them for some time to come!

@emvy glad all went well. I could sit and listen to that galloping heart beat all day!

Completely run out of energy yesterday...totally zonked on the sofa and barely had the energy to even swallow...so I'm well and truly part of the zero energy club! 😣
