Loads of people on the October group are having their babies but I'm not due until the end of the month. Still got one week left of work too!

Oldschool41 · 01/10/2017 22:25

This is not my first child but I'm due 12th December 😀

lydiangel83 · 09/10/2017 09:33

Tagging @TheLionQueen1 as first of the thread to become a mummy! Congratulations to you and baby Jack!

@TheLionQueen1 yay :)

TheLionQueen1 · 10/10/2017 12:24

Thank you!! Still doesn't seem real! Still in hospital because of my blood pressure, hoping to escape soon, want him home!

ScotsLamb · 10/10/2017 13:17

@TheLionQueen1 hope all is well with you and baby apart from your dodgy blood pressure. Have they given you an idea of home time?

Daviana · 10/10/2017 16:00

Am for Feb/March2018 not so sure though.
Will be going for second scan on the 24th Oct.
Feeling a bit unusual, heavish, blotting and uncomfortable altogether. So tired too early

PrincessaCarrisi · 10/10/2017 16:31

Congratulations TheLionQueen1! I hope you are all able to go home soon.

I'm due 13th November, have felt a change this week - bump is huge and I'm soooo heavy and slow.

It's the final countdown!

lydiangel83 · 12/10/2017 02:01

@TheLionQueen1 I hope you’re home now? xx

Thanks @lydiangel83 we got him home at 1am yesterday morning, my BP had finally stabilised but I have a lot of medication to bring home, tricky to try and remember to take it all when time has gone out the window!!

He is doing super well, just wants to feed all the time! The MW weighed him for his 3 days weigh in yesterday and he's lost nothing which is amazing!

My poor nipples are screwed though, I had to formula feed last night as I was crying with the pain, so frustrating

lydiangel83 · 12/10/2017 06:36

Ah well done on getting home @TheLionQueen1 must be so much better than stuck in hospital. Sorry to hear about soreness, one of my fears is how much bf will hurt! Is someone going to give u some support to try again (assuming you want to)? xx

TheLionQueen1 · 12/10/2017 06:53

I've just used my hand express pump this morning and expressed loads and that's not as painful as him suckling so DH is going to go and buy us an electric pump later and I'm going to persevere but bottle feeding him the breast milk. I'll mention to my MW later but think that's best, I don't want to breast feed for ages anyway was planning on changing to formula around 6 weeks so am just going to see how it goes!

How's everyone feeling getting closer?

lydiangel83 · 12/10/2017 07:27

Yeah that makes sense and I think I was thinking the same. Good luck with it and is there anything that works to make nipples less sore!? And I won’t ask how much sleep you’re getting!

I was 37 wks yesterday hoping I don’t go overdue but also happy to have another wk or so of pottering about and getting jobs done / catching up with people. Still doesn’t seem real lol, although hospital tour did bring it home yesterday!

OP posts:
TheLionQueen1 · 12/10/2017 08:52

Trust me @lydiangel83 even when you have them it won't feel real, it's all DH and I keep saying to each other, not sure when it kicks in that they're actually yours!!

Really hope you aren't overdue and waiting too long! You feeling ok other than a bit fed up?

lydiangel83 · 12/10/2017 09:35

Haha I can imagine that! I keep saying to DH ok, so we get home from hospital, then what happens?! Is DH off for a while with you? I’m hoping mine will take a week or probably 2 off and then hopefully a few friends and family will visit between then and Christmas. Will be nice to have DH home over Xmas I think.

I’m not fed up yet but imagine I will be by 40 wks!. Im keeping myself entertained and still got jobs to do so it’s all good :) people keep telling me to sleep but I’m really not sleeping so that’s a bit frustrating!

@TheLionQueen1 glad your home now! Have you tried those nipple shields? Apparently they are really good to use when your sore but baby can still bf normally? Obviously I haven't tried them myself yet as I'm still waiting... due in 5 days!! but I have some as a gift from my baby shower.
I'm going a bit crazy at the moment with waiting! I was convinced he was going to come early but now I'm not so sure... just really don't want to end up being induced!

TheLionQueen1 · 12/10/2017 10:59

No I hadn't heard of those @Missonhartbaby , thank you, I will give them a try!

Missonhartbaby · 12/10/2017 11:22

@TheLionQueen1 yea give them a try, they're reusable and it's just like a silicone cover which baby can still suck through. Worth a try!

TheLionQueen1 · 20/10/2017 18:22

How's everyone getting on? @Missonhartbaby I got the nipple shields and they have been absolutely amazing! Also found out DS was tongue tied though which wasn't helping so they snipped that this week and now latching on so much better! Any signs baby is en route Misson?

Missonhartbaby · 21/10/2017 00:52

@TheLionQueen1 Amazing! I'm glad they helped! How are you both doing?! I've heard tongue tied is quite rare!
Possibly... had a 'favourable' membrane sweep yesterday (bulging membranes, could feel head and cervix was 2cm dilated and soft) and have been having some very strong cramps this evening, in bed now but they don't seem to be easing off... but they don't seem to be contractions either! I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's the start of something!

TheLionQueen1 · 21/10/2017 01:15

That all sounds really positive! Fingers crossed it won't be long for you at all!!

We're doing fab other than that, he's perfect, loves his food and we had bath time yesterday for first time, he was a big fan!

Missonhartbaby · 21/10/2017 01:21

Hope so! Can't wait to meet him now!!
As bless him, sounds lush! How long did you wait untill his first bath then? Sounds like you've got a little water baby!!

lydiangel83 · 21/10/2017 05:13

@Missonhartbaby how exciting! What’s your due date?did you get swept early? I’ll be 39 wks on weds so feeling like things could move! Felt really nauseous earlier and now can’t sleep again :-/

@TheLionQueen1 all sounds lovely and well done for persevering hopefully tongue snip and shields will help!!

TheLionQueen1 · 21/10/2017 07:55

@Missonhartbaby we bathed him yesterday at 12 days old, his umbilical cord came off at 6 days so we were waiting for it to heal slightly!

TheLionQueen1 · 21/10/2017 07:56

He's too cute!
