Yea I have :) but I go a bit insane if I'm just in the house all the time! Went for a wander round town and for lunch with my OH which was so nice, also gone for a walk with the dog (and OH) but max had a complete meltdown half way along the trail so I had to stop and feed him standing up! Haha! Haven't gone out on my own yet though... that I'm a bit scared off. He's gone to work today aswell on nights so I'm all on my own which is odd :/

TheLionQueen1 · 06/11/2017 22:35

@Missonhartbaby I fed jack standing up walking around m&s because he had a melt down 😂

ew1990 · 06/11/2017 22:50

I just don't want to be stuck in, I said to OH about going for a walk one day this week, start off small. My mum and MIL will come round when my OH is at work so I'm not on my own at first

Missonhartbaby · 07/11/2017 10:19

I didn't go anywhere for the first week to be fair, I had an episiotomy so I shouldnt of really not been out and about as early as I was! Yea just do little outings, that's what I did, i found I was too sore to do much more but it did help to get out :) it's great you've got the support aswell to come and help!
@TheLionQueen1 the things we do!!! Haha
Have you thought about a sling or carrier? I might get one but the choice is endless!

ew1990 · 07/11/2017 12:19

@Missonhartbaby I only had to have one stitch inside so was lucky!

You girls are a godsend sometimes x

Missonhartbaby · 07/11/2017 13:41

That is lucky! I had to have a lot of stitches for the episiotomy and it all opened up aswell a few days after... I'm still on antibiotics now to help it heal. It's loads better now though

ew1990 · 07/11/2017 20:59

Managed a little walk today, felt so much better for putting some make up on and getting out, ive not been out since going in hospital on Wednesday.

Has anyone else's baby had the heel prick yet? My LO is having it done tomorrow.

lydiangel83 · 08/11/2017 07:11

@Missonhartbaby @ew1990 were you told
Not to walk far after episiotomy? I wasn’t told that. I wasn’t told much except keep it clean!

@ew1990 we had heel prick at day 5 and she was feeding at the time they did it and she barely noticed it. They literally prick the heel then take dabs of blood on to a piece of paper for 4 or 5 different things. Put socks on baby for a few hrs before visit to get feed warm so easier to get blood flowing and they will only have to prick once x

What are people wearing at night these days? My boobs and nipples sore so trying to wear nothing but milk leaks during night even if I express before bed. Any advice for comfy things that I can wear breast pads with?

@butterybollocks welcome to you and baby Freddie - beautiful boy!

I wear my nursing bra with breast pads in as well @lydiangel83 and just a strappy top so easy to feed. Hate wearing bra all the time but health visitor said most people do!

I’ve been off radar too since baby third was born. I had to be admitted into hospital again as l had a bad infection. It’s really wiped me out and the antibiotics are heavy going —that’s without having to take them at odd times in the early hours—. I also had an episiotomy.....why didn’t anyone mention how uncomfortable it is!

How is everyone?

We’re mix feeding and all the midwifes etc we’ve seen have been supportive. In fact they’ve said because I’m unwell that they wouldn’t advise me at this stage to solely BF, as l need to get better. Baby is fine with it and it means DH gets to do it as well —which he loves—.

Cannot believe baby is over two weeks old now Smile

THirdEeye · 08/11/2017 08:56

lydia

I’ve been wearing these soft night bra things from primark. They are easy to pull down when feeding and a breast pad can be stuck inside.

Missonhartbaby · 08/11/2017 09:11

@lydiangel83 no i wasn't told not to walk but I was in agony with it to be fair. Very swollen and bruised down there after forceps delivery. My episiotomy opened up aswell so I've just had an open wound which is obviously painful and easy to get infected. Think it take a while to heal properly :(

I'm wearing comfy sleep bras at night with breast pads in.. I've bought some reusable pads aswell cos I'm finding the throw away ones aren't all that comfy. They should be arriving today so I'll let you girls know what they're like!

ew1990 · 08/11/2017 10:46

@lydiangel83 I just got told to keep it clean too.

The heel prick weren't that bad she cried a little bit but was easily comforted

ew1990 · 08/11/2017 14:18

And she's only lost 2oz of her birth weight so obviously feeding well

lydiangel83 · 13/11/2017 00:00

Can anyone describe what let down feels like? My milk is diminishing due to mastitis antibiotics and I want to make sure I am feeding or expressing whenever I can

OP posts:
Missonhartbaby · 13/11/2017 12:13

@lydiangel83 hey, i get like a throbbing/tingling feeling when I need to feed him.. so I'm assuming this is let down as it must mean my boobs are full of milk... so i guess that would be a good time to feed and then pump the other breast if LO hasn't fed from both. I think many people don't get any feeling from milk let down though...

lydiangel83 · 15/11/2017 19:28

Does anyone else who is breastfeeding find that LO suckles rather than properly drinking? My 15 day old does a lot of suckling and I’ve had conflicting advice about whether to let her or not. I have had mastitis and her being on boob for so long makes nipples really sore, but equally want the stimulation from her to help with milk supply. Am currently managing to top her up with EBM but that supply will run out soon and it’s just a shame she isn’t taking enough milk when I know there is milk there.

Any advice / experience welcome!

Latch isn’t always great but I have had it checked quite a few times and told it is ok. Often feels as though she is just sucking nipple tho as it is agony afterwards :-/

Thanks@Missonhartbaby that makes sense xx

Squigglefish · 16/11/2017 12:54

Hey! I can finally join in 😊 I am certainly never doing that again....ever!
How are you all doing? I'll be honest, I'm struggling. I had to have rotational forceps, baby had shoulder dystocia, I then suffered a large bleed in theatre and ended up having a transfusion. I feel it's set me back with caring for her and bonding. The one thing I really didn't want was forceps but wheb faced with an emergency you have to be guided.
Anyone had a 3rd degree tear and scared of going to the loo?

ew1990 · 16/11/2017 15:18

@Squigglefish I had a 2nd degree and going to the toilet petrified me. (If you mean for a number 2) I just held a pad over my bits felt like a bit of support but honestly it was fine.

Sorry to hear your struggling hope you start to feel better soon! X

lydiangel83 · 16/11/2017 16:12

Hey @Squigglefish I feel your pain re forceps and also desperately didn’t want them but you’re right you end up doing what you need to xx

I ate a lot of prunes as was also afraid of number two and still took me 2 days to go - which apparently is normal!
